Having had to miss Tuesdays game at Chatham I am not sure how the players responded, as to who showed improvement and commitment after Corby's performance and who was still just going through the motions.

We did lose again away from home, so will changes be made, I await other posters comments and the team sheet for Saturday.

What I do know is that Sittingbourne are only 2 points behind us so this will not be an easy away game and they will have the incentive to win and climb above us, whilst we on the other hand need to win and claim back the 2 lost away points dropped from Boreham & Corby to get us back on track and to remain in the top 6.

Come on Darts lets forget the cup defeats and the performance at Corby and get back into a winning mode with 100% effort from the players which will bring a 100% response from the fans and plenty of singing.

It should be a very hard game on paper this Saturday against a team in good form although they seem to rely a bit on Mark Lovell’s goals.

We shouldn’t worry too much about Tuesday’s cup exit although it amazes me how these teams like Chatham can capture a forward like Brendan Cass.  At this level he is a consistent performer, a player who scores regular. We do seem to miss out in the transfer dealings. If Chatham can afford him then surely we can.

According to Sittingbourne’s web site the mayor of Swale and Dartford have been invited.

See you all there…up the Darts.

We were at home to Chatham not away.

We play away to Chatham next Tuesday 27th in the league, which is a game we really need to battle for.

Yes apologies for that 5th, I had this coming weeks game on my mind, still home or away we lost, so at least a point from Sittingbourne and Chatham must be obtained to keep on track.

Yet again another poor performance where we struggled to be able to string more than 2 passes together or where we actually managed to find a yellow shirt.

The pitch was very lumpy and bumpy and Sittingbourne were a very poor team that just played the long ball all the time hardly playing any on the deck football at all they just hoofed it in the air.

But at the end of the day they managed to score and we didn't albeit a deflection off of Tony Henry's legs, it went through the middle of his legs bounced off both of them and in past Kevin.

They were putting us under some pressue in the 1st half and hit the post at least once possibly twice.

This isn't looking very good at all at the moment, the players just don't seem to have any fighting spirit in them or any enthusiasum and half the time don't even look to find one of their own players they just kick the ball anywhere quick.

The only player that looked as though he wanted the ball and actually tried to fight for it when he had the chance was poor old Jimmy Carter again.

It was yet another game where the oppositions keeper didn't have to make a single save, we only had 2 chances and that was 1 in the first half when Eddie ran through and got fouled on the edge of the box but the ref played the advantage and Eddie flicked the ball over the keeper only for it to hit the outside of the post and go for a goalkick.

Then in the last couple of minutes Dave Martin hit a cracker of a shot and it bounced off the post again.

I only hope the players can pull their fingers out soon and step up their performances otherwise we are just going to keep sliding down the table and we are going to start losing the supporters again.

After getting the good news of the ground and having such a good start to the season it was attracting a few new faces through the turnstiles, it would be a real shame if we was to start losing these new supporters now.

Come on lads you have the supporters behind you BUT you have to start putting in the performances if you want to keep this support, we haven't been very vocal at all at these last 3 or 4 games but then you haven't given us anything to be vocal about.

We want to see the same fighting spirit as you showed against Enfield Town away, Arlesey away, Waltham Forest at home, the effort and fighting spirit you put into these games was fantastic, you had that over my dead body attitude and you fought and battled for each other.

These last 3 or 4 games you've seemed to let yourselves down more than anything else, you seemed to have the go back to sleep as i've got a major hangover and i can't be arsed attitude.
Even if you came away losing the games but put in the same effort as you did in the above games then the support would still be there for you and everyone could accept it but certainly not at the moment.

COME ON LADS WE KNOW YOU CAN DO IT AND YOU KNOW YOU CAN DO IT.

SO PROVE IT TO US.

Hopefully you can turn things around ready for Tuesday nights game away to Chatham.

Sad, no pathetic such was our performance today against a side who we should easily have seen off had we shown the same enthusiasm and commitment that we had for the first five games.

Sittingbourne hit the post in the first half and had several shots on target but Kevin was up to the job, whilst we had one chance which fell to Eddie, as he broke through, was then obstructed/fouled by the last defender, but kept on his feet, the referee played the advantage and Eddie who was by then slightly off balance could only curl the ball onto the post and out of play.

The referee indicated a goal kick and only spoke to the defender, whilst pointing to our protesting forwards that he allowed the advantage to be played and had the ball gone in we would have been happy.

Second half was more of the same although we did put a bit more pressure on Sittingbourne, but only after we had conceded a goal from a shot which was hit hard and low and took a deflection past Kevin.

We were vunerable down our left hand side where Tom McGowan was constantly exposed, lacking pace to get back or losing out with soft tackling, plus when he did have possession he more often than not gave the ball away to the opposition.

Not that he was entirely to blame as the rest of the team were not much better and it was only in the last 10 minutes after Dave Martin came on that we pushed forward to try and get an equalizer, hitting the post in the last minute (was it Dave Martin?) from our best move of the game.

This is definitely not good enough as Sittingbourne were by far the weakest side we have had to play to date and we are gradually lowering our standards, just as we have seen in previous seasons, losing to the teams who we should be beating and gradually slipping down the table.

I'm not sure if I will make Tuesdays game as I should be working at head office in Gloucester, but I was thinking of switching days until I watched todays match, why should I show commitment and enthusiasm by putting myself out, only to see the players letting themselves down by playing at such an unacceptable standard when we know they can preform so much better.

We knew we would lose games that's not a problem, but it's how you lose that counts, at least lets go down fighting, just as Enfield did against us or as we did at Boreham Wood or when dropping two points at home to Waltham Forest.

It appears it is almost too much trouble for the players to talk to each other never mind passing to each other or playing as a team.

Get your act together Darts because I don't suppose Tuesdays match will be easy and I would expect the gate to be lower than we would normally expect.

But after this rant I will still try to make the game Tuesday, as I like so many of the Darts fans are gluttons for punishment. :(
