glad to read you are all still upbeat and the performance was good last night.
dont know why its taken so long for people to realise that we are playing a lot of away games.four on the spin away was not very kind to us and all 4 were as tough away games as you can get in this league.i thought we would get nothing from them but hoped we might nick a draw or a win somewhere but it was not to be.
as i have said before i think we will now win 6 of our next 8 league games and still get to 70/73 points.
sorry if i get proved wrong but i dont think i will

It was an excellent performance last night, (this is from the negative Xavi), with battling performances from Carter and Pulman especially and a much better performance from Briggs.

I was concerned that we were found wanting at the back with the lack of pace, if any other team were watching that they could just attack us with pace and we would again be struggling.

There were more positives then negatives last night though, If we play like that Saturday surely the winless run will end

Good report from Stephen Mcartneys site (link below), my thoughts the day after haven't changed, the whole club on and off the field feel the same way - we gave it 100% and were frustrated but the win is coming soon and hopefully another and so on.

Tony Burman and all the players need congratulations and a pat on the back after tonights performance, which saw a change of formation and a 100% effort put in by all the players, in an attacking game which saw 2/3 efforts in the first half cleared off the line and several shots going close. (what a change about turn from Sittingbourne & Corby)

How we didn't turn round at least 2 goals ahead I don't know and with us regularly singing and chanting, urging the players on, we were confident for the second half.

Enter No.12 the Chatham substitute who although not scoring, eventually turned the game and a win for Chatham, but not before Ian Pulman had crashed a shot against the bar and we had several other efforts go close.

Their number 12 ran rings around all our defenders on both sides of the pitch with his jinking runs, (can he only play half a game?) and seemed to spur Chatham on, but thankfully his shots were wide or high until the fatal cross from him which allowed their forward to head home.

Ian Pulman and Gary Carter turned in excellent performances for being in the starting line up and all the players looked to be enjoying the game, but Tony Henry nearly commited last Saturdays error again by trying to dribble the ball all to often out of defence and he got caught on a couple of occassions but we got away with it.

The 5th appears to have read my mind, as I was also going to compare this defeat to that of Enfield's when we nicked it 1-0 after all their pressure, but we fans did try to lift Tony and the players after the game by applauding them off the field and shouting out encouraging comments which they in turn acknowledged by applauding us.

More of the same please on Saturday Darts when we have the chance to win again at home, as after having played 6 games away and 3 at home we should be looking at 15 points as per T.B.'s formula but only have 13.

Which is really the 2 dropped points at home to Waltham Forest, so looking at it this way we aren't doing too bad away from home, but must make sure of winning those home games to get to the 70+ points at the end of the season.

Lubricate those vocal cords ready for Saturday and get behind The Darts, T.B.'s notes make the point that an effort from us with vocal support definitely helps the players to up their performance .

I enjoyed the match, and felt that our players put plenty of effort in. Having said that, it looked to me that Chatham created more clear cut chances than us, and with someone like Brendan Cass up front, it was inevitable they would score eventually, so to be honest, I felt they just about deserved it.

I hope I'm not seen as being disloyal saying that, because it seems at odds with some other views of the game, but I just sensed they looked more likely to score than us. Perhaps its just Lady Luck levelling out after our earlier backs to the walls wins away from home! I'm convinced though, there is nothing fundamentally wrong with the team, players, methods, etc. One win and we'll be up and running again.

Overall though, I felt that it wasn't a bad performance. Kevin looked safe, the back four pretty good too, though Gary Carter will be better after a few more games. The midfield wasn't bad, but I honestly feel that only Steve Hafner will be entirely happy with his performance, I know the others can all do better, 'cos I've seen them do better earlier this season!

Like most of us I reckon, I was really pleased to see Pully given his chance up front with James, and I'll bet James was happy about that too. When the two of them have had a couple of games together, I'm sure they'll start scoring a few goals. Just one point about James though, no-one will question his committment, but if he could show the same agression in the box when attacking the goal, as he does outside the box and chasing back, then he'll be even better still.

All in all, I'd say 7 out of ten. Not bad but can do better. I'm sure that a win on Saturday will raise confidence in the team, and better results will follow.

Come on you Darts!
