Well I have to say Eddie was not at the races on Saturday. Everything he tried did not come off. You have them sort of days and there is nothing you can do about it. Is till think he is the person who can unlock teams and he has to be one of the first names down on the team sheet for me.

I see that Darren Penfold has been turning out for Ashford Town. Is that our Darren and if so, is it permanent?

Darren was at our match down at Sittingbourne the other week, but I don't know whether he's the one at Ashford.

I think the one thing that is a running theme here, is that individual players and the team as a whole have set very high standards for themselves. A couple of unfortunate results (and one or two deserved), and a slight dip in form by some undoubtedly talented players, and they set themselves up for criticism.

I try to look at it from a wider point of view. We would all have taken such a start of the season if someone had offered it before it had started. The manager is not a complete idiot and I am sure he knows where improvements are needed.

The other REALLY good thing is Tony Burman does not chop and change the side at every chance. Half the trick at this level is a steady side and Tony has achieved this. I am right behind the team all the time I see the effort and determination. OK I have been absent during the poor spell but I am more optimistic about this season with every game even if the results are not as impressive as they were at first.

My final point is, I was disappointed to read a few posts about lack of vocal support while I was on holiday. I know I was not the only one on holiday and our numbers were reduced, so I was very happy that some good vocal support was generated Saturday and V Chatham. It can not be underestimated what this support achieves at this level and I firmly believe it is worth 10 points a season. We must keep this up.

... With the same players we was all saying it was our weak area a couple of months ago but Tony & Co have managed to sort them out into a respectable back four!  I'm sure they'll be busy at work doing the same thing with our midfielders at present!!

For me, it was the arrival of Anthony Henry that made the difference at the back. I cant see anyone in the current squad who can do a good enough job as the holding midfield player so I'm hoping for another new face. Someone along the lines of a young Steve Robinson would be nice.

MM i think it was you that likened our manager to a terrible desease but the great man took no offence but you continue to test him by referring to him now as" ....... not a complete idiot... " so do you mean he is partially an idiot ? i am sure you dont and i am sure TB again wont take offence.

It's getting to the point where I'm thinking twice before posting as many times my text is misread / made something of that it's not.

It meant only a complete idiot would not know where the team needs improving.
