I needed cheering up. Just the tonic I needed.

Look forward to seeing some of the match writeups later in the evening.

Well played the Darts - and a few goals into the bargain too!

we desrved to win today but 4-1 slightly flattered us . pully scored after 30 mins , took it well, 1 to 1 with keeper ,  a few mins later  haffy scored a brilliant 2nd , 35 yard screamer but we let them back almost straight away as their guy was not closed down and shot beat an unsighted kevin

first 20 mins of 2nd half it was the usual darts , all over the place but battling well , back four were very good with henry and avery solid, in last 15 mins we got 2 goals from haffy and eddie mc and ryan hayes ,on as a sub had a shot well saved by the keepers left foot

we did desrve to win but made it hard for ourselves again but no compaints as the boys played and battled hard

same team and formation  as for berko except spriggs in for briggs , who wasnt on the bench today  !!!

best laugh was the pottersbar turnstile guy letting mickey austin get in at oap prices !!!!

great result fully deserved.
the back 4 are superb with henrys confidence and will to win is rubbing off on the others, henry is quite magnificent.
jimmy carter had a superb game again  and what a difference with this formation allowing people near enough to him for the knockdowns to work, i think he had a hand in at least 3 of the goals.
after a 4-1 there cant be many negatives but any manager always looks to improve and i woukd say why did it take 60 minutes to put in a cross from the flanks when the centre half was 5 feet 6 inches.
also gary carter had a very good game as a defender but on at least 3 occasions in the 2nd half he could have composed himself and put steve hafner in down the flank and he chose to lump the  ball in the box where it is easy to defend.
happy days are here again

Yes we were all satified right from the off with the team selection and a 4-4-2 formation.

We looked good up front with Jimmy winning balls in the air and there appeared to be people around to feed off of him, Stevie Haffner and Dave Martin were breaking down both flanks and getting crosses in but no conversions.

Stevie was just over the half way line when he placed an inch perfect pass through the defence for Ian to run onto in the box, as he burst clear he was nudged as he took the ball round the goalie and seemed to be off balance, but retained control and slotted the ball home.

Within minutes it was  Beckham all over again but with a touch more class from Stevie Heffner as he controlled the ball just over the halfway line, looked up, saw the keeper off his line and hit a peach of a lob right over the goalie's head into the net.

As The Duke said we then went to sleep for a while and let Potters Bar back into the game as we surrendered midfield, let their player run from midfield at us, he hit a hopefull shot which was blocked but another forward swivelled and hit the ball on the rebound into the corner of the net with Kevin unsited.

The whistle came for half time to rescue us from a bit more pressure and as one of their  defenders walked off of the pitch he had some severe verbal with the referee resulting in a yellow card.

Second half we had around twenty minutes of pressure, much as we have seen before this season with the midfield struggling but the defence superb, then we substituted Davie Martin for Ryan and it was from a ball he hit into the box that Eddie ran on and struck the ball home.

The sad Potters Bar defender again questioned the ref's judgement appealing for offside and perhaps doubting his parentage which resulted in a second yellow/red card ending his participation in the game.

The result didn't look in question after this and we were able to push forward and stretch them with some fluid passing and Stevie Haffner gained his second goal from one of these moves.

Late on a brilliant long cross field pass from the right found Ryan on the left running onto the ball and into the box before hitting a near post shot which the keeper did well to spread himself for and it deflected off his legs.

Five would have been an embarrassment, four flattered, but to win and win well was the main thing and will at least give us a better goal difference as well as three well desered points.

Sounds like a good game. Thanks for the reports lads. Certainly think that 4-4-2 is the way to go.

First and foremost, as a fan the team supplied exactly what we want - a win!

We beat their keeper 4 times and could have had at least 2 more so 'flattering' is not a word in my dictionary! How many times have we come away from a game with nothing to show for our efforts and have played better than today?

Potters Bar just were not good enough on the day and a quick look at their web site view will confirm that we were worthy winners on the day.

I wish to point out that it looked good early on today, the effort to win the game was so so evident and we put PB to the sword, payback for some recent results that were harsh on us.

We have an excellent back line now with a good solid gk, our front 2 really gave 100% today and to their credit our midfield 'put it in' also. Good to see Eddie score and a goal of the season contender by Haffy.

Good turn out from the Darts fans today and it looked to me that we had more fans than them, small crowd, small ground. Good to see the Darts back to winning and hopefully back it up with a victory Tuesday night at home (yes home) to Ilford.

The attendance was 143 today, just 1 short of matching their highest gate against Barking & East Ham.

Great result, good game, great vocal support, well taken goals. At last a win. What more could we want.

i apaolagise to TB and the lads for not giving them enough credit for the really good win at potters bar yesterday

to win 4-1 away is a great result and i was out of order by using the words " the result flattered us "

win or lose - count me in  !!!!!

We have played as well as this game and come away with less.

The finishing was clinical, I think the midfield had a much better game after recent criticism, but for me, the fluency of the friendlies has still not returned.

We won 4-1 but we know we can play much better - that has got to be a positive thing.
