What a great night, wonderful support and a result to please all Darts fans and the atmosphere can only be compared to the great cup runs at Watling Street in the past.
We had our doubts when we went behind for the first goal due to poor marking and Dover utilising their skills from set pieces and crosses, but then came an equalizer, some what lucky, but Davey Martin got on the end of the free kick due to their goalie hesitating and hooked the ball home.
Back behind again after a brief celebration, this time due to a lot of luck from a hard hit shot which took a wicked deflection off of a defender into the corner of the net.
But did we give up, no and with more noise and singing right through to half time we grabbed another equalizer two minutes into injury time when Stevie Hafner tucked the ball away from close range.
Tony's half time talk was put to the test within minutes of the restart (what would Dover do if we took the lead) when right in front of the bulk of us vocal supporters/posters under the stand on the left hand side, Stevie Hafner collected the ball on the touchline cut inside and ran across the front edge of the box and hit a curling sreamer into the top corner of the net via the underside of the crossbar.
As he beat the defenders on his run it looked almost as if he had knocked the ball too far ahead and that he would lose possession but with perfect timing he swung the boot and the result was there for all to see goal of the season or otherwise it was in the net and we were in front.
Dover came back fighting but as the game dragged on it was less and less football from them and more and more long punts in the air into the box in the hope of their aerial dominance creating a goal.
Our defence stood firm although we gave away several corners to put our nerves further on edge, but whenever we cleared the ball forward we were pressing Dover with our pace and on several occassions saw two players breaking with the ball being played through to run onto and just lacking the finish that would have clinched the game.
Jimmy hit the bar with a header and Richard Avery put the rebound just over, otherwise that was the nearest we came to increasing the lead.
Several minutes of Dover time had to be played before we heard the final whistle and the celebrations could begin, the players running over to the area where we vocalists were all standing joining in the singing and cheering with us, befrore acknowledging the rest of the supporters around the ground.
Well done Darts and thanks for jogging the memories and bringing back to me the days of old.
In the bar afterwards I was talking to Mr & Mrs Carter about James (please accept my apologies for keep calling him Jimmy

) and I said that I had never seen him give so much and run so many times backwards as well as forwards in a match and they said that he looked absolutely exhausted.
Well done to him and all of the team, they gave 100% and got the result that we all wanted a trip down to Margate, where I know we will be welcomed and it will be a good day out for both clubs whatever the result, with loads of the same atmosphere as tonight.
I would hope that we will see in excess of the 150 fans who I believe travelled to Dover, so don't miss out on the day, lets enjoy the vibes whilst it lasts and let it get us in the right frame of mind for next season and the return to Dartford and Princes Park
