highest crowd figures [165] at rothwell this season beating the previous best [ 140] ,  17.8% increase

some lively banter , no aggro and even though we got beat , no whinging and even though our boys were below par we  politely [ !!]  clapped the  players off the field

thats why the dart fans are seen as a decent bunch

UP THE DARTS

oh and by the way we beat the dover whingers 3-2 last tuesday !!!!!!

I presume that the players will still be tired/jaded on Tuesday as well then?

I don't think they will and the home games especially must be viewed as 3 points in the bag against any team.

I am sure that TB will be seeing it that way, we will cheer the boys on that's for sure.

Agree with the comments posted, Rothwell deserved to win as they took their chances in the second half and capitalised on the first half penalty by winning 3-0, albeit that it did flatter them a bit.

I didn't expect much else from Rothwell and view it as a dour place to travel to for a football match, with no fans to speak of, no hot food and with little atmosphere to excite you, it's a case of trying to play football on a pitch with nothing but lumps and bumps.

They are used to the conditions and our players are not and almost all the players struggled to control the ball and made a lot of basic mistakes giving the ball away to the opposition on several occassions.

Not our day and best forget about it and look forward to Tuesday where if we lose we will have no excuses, but with us undefeated at home we have a whole lot to fight for and will I hope get the three points.

Well done to the travelling fans with a highest attendance again at Rothwell.

Don't they realise why we are so upset?
« Reply #33 on: October 24, 2005, 08:12:46 AM »

What's up with you lot? You're far too gracious in deafeat. We lost, therefore they must have kicked us off the park.

What a bunch of thugs Rothwell must be. They must have deliberately set out to maim at least four our our players, and wreck our chances of promotion and getting out of this hell hole of a league.  If they wanted the three points so badly, then let then have 'em. I'm just glad we can concentrate on the Trophy now. Don't they realise we are a much bigger club than them, and we deserve to be playing at a higher level? It's a total disgrace. Don't they know we were in the Conference once? We honour them by turning up at their little ground, and what do they do? Bloody well beat us, that's all. What a nerve! I didn't go to the game, but I read on the website that we lost, so all this must be true.

I just hope that our Directors threw their mushy peas and gravy all over the Rothwell chairman's flat cap and kicked his whippets. Dirty northern b*******!  And if anyone did video the game, keep a copy to send the the FA to support our case.

How was the beer up there? I much prefer my glass of sour chateau Dover

Tony Burman's outlook on this game seems to read that we just did not try hard enough. If you read back I always thought it would be difficult to motivate the team after the Dover games. Looking back, after missing a couple of decent chances on Saturday, we were very lacklustre.

I know that comment is a bit like the linesman flagging after the ref has given it, but I wanted to give the lads the benefit of the doubt after the exertions of the Dover games, where their aggressive play really took it out of us. Tony Burman has no mercy and that is why he's the boss.

Our vocal support was struggling too, although we were small in numbers, that doesn't usually matter (see Potters Bar) but all I can say is my throat's had it.

It may be my imagination, but there is definately a positive correlation between vocal support and performance.

the impact at rothwell was diluted cause the main songsters were split into 3 groups around the ground

impact is definately better when ALL together !!!!!!

That sounds grim, we must all try and stick together, that's the only way to generate a decent atmosphere!

Football isn't all about singing. I didn't stand with the singers in the first half because the view was pretty poor. For a lot of the first half, I stood on my own because I wanted to watch the game. Too much emphasis is on the singing these days.
