A welcome change from league action and another trophy Kent derby, looking forward to it, should be a good crowd and atmosphere.

Just had a look at Margates league position etc and they are not exactly setting the world alight, also they do not score many goals either so no reason why we can't pull off another trophy win!

We need a good support again down there to cheer the lads on and we all travel with confidence after an excellent league victory over Aveley.

Well, no doubt we start out as underdogs against our Ryman Premier League opponents in this Kent derby, especially as we are the away side.

I've got no doubts at all that fans will get a warm welcome as I think both sets of supporters are looking forward to the game, and their supporters will not have listened to the past rantings coming from the Dover scripts on the Margate website following our matches in the previous round.

Both clubs appreciate our clubs have been through difficult times in recent seasons and now fighting back to return to former glories. Both clubs will see this match as a winnable tie, although it might take two matches to get a result is my view. Margate fans won't be taking this match as a foregone conclusion like some of the arrogant Dover fans did.

Margate have been getting some decent 700+ crowds so far this season, so this game could truly attract a gate of 1000+, somewhat better than the phantom 615 recorded at Dover, so many of the lads could well be playing in front of their biggest crowd ever, and that in itself will be good experience for our developing squad.

I will look forward to updates from the match, and with our recent improved form, it looks like a decent match is on the cards.

ENJOY !!!

margate are a good side as we saw in the paul sykes cup final last season but they only just beat the whingers from dover  so we are in with a chance

if we can reproduce the FOOTBALL we played against aveley rather than the long ball crap that has been all to evident recently then we will be  o k but otherwise we will just give it away and get it ALL back with extras !!!!

i hope the football we played against aveley wasnt just a psycological reaction of playing against a bottom of the league side , basically its a one off cup game , we arent expected to win , so we must relax and knock it about and WIN  !!!!!

im sure ALL of the lads will enjoy the game but ill bet that HAFFY, PULLY and KEVIN will want to show " old kineer " that was wrong to discvard them

no doubt margate will have spotted that we are now 8th in our league and pushing for a play off place

TAKE US LIGHTLY IF YOU DARE -  JUST ASK DOVER  ????

looking forward to a really good day out at margate with the darts team doing them selves proud[ win or lose]

Down ta Margate as Chas & Dave would say, I'm looking forward to a good day out win, lose or draw, as long as we put up a spirited performance.

Just to visit Margate again and mix with genuine supporters who have been through troubled times like ourselves and to have a large crowd for our players to perform in front of, means that everyone should have a great day out.

If we draw then it's a bit of added bunce from a second decent attendance back at Stonebridge Road, if we lose then we have some monies from the away gate and were the underdogs after all, but if we were to win then I suspect Margate might have done a Gillingham, anything can happen.

Lets enjoy the day for what it is, a good local competitive derby, because if the truth be told, neither club will go on to win the Trophy, but both clubs need the extra revenue from a place in the next round.

Is Margate's ground easy to find?

Also I may be able to offer a lift to a couple of people if interested (Crayford area).

Don't want to go on my own. I get scared.

I've just been on the Margate Forum and not all in the garden looks rosey!

They are not happy with the team, CK, a problem regarding lids from drinks bottles? and are worried about relegation. I've included an average posting that seems to cover all their concerns below. It seems that we may be playing them at the right time.

Oh yes and well done to the lads for last Saturday!

Quote:
Ive calmed down a bit since yesterday but am still disappointed by the lack of effort shown by the team, i know we have injuries but damn it why is CK sticking with 5-3-2 when we clearly cant play it with the players we have available.

They really did play without any direction out there and i still havent figured out were the hell standen was supposed to be playing i am by no means singleing DS there were by far worse offenders on the pitch, and why the hell is CK wasteing a player like Sesay playing in a postion he clearly strugles to play at i know his young and he could still learn to play at wingback but he looks so uncomftable in a defensive role.

The team has little excuse this season last year was horribe at times but we took it becuase we knew the situation was tough, but this season we must go beyond the dribble we watched for most of last season.

We have to be better then this!

Ignore me, I've found it. It's all to do with the lids being taken when buying bottles of drink. They have that rule at Gravesend for their home games, too... ridiculous, when you think that you could just bring a lid along in your pocket!

just had a quick look at margates message board and steeeeeevo is quite right they are not happy

suggest TB gets the lads to have a look at

#  fans saying that andy ford is available for the managers job

#  worst performance saturday ever

#  players dont give a f...k

#  playing a 3-5-2 system that the players cant play to

#  slagging off most pl;ayers

#  7 first teamers out with long term injuries [ dont remember us playing them ??]

PERHAPS A GOOD TIME TO BE PLAYING THEM   ?????

finally

a  margate fan suggested that they should pay a lower entrance fee if the the team are playing crap , rumour has it that the dover chairman read it, collapsed with shock as how the f...k are they going to surviver if they have to start paying the fans to attand matches  !!!!!!

I think it shows how much we appreciate our team, that even on a bad few games, and a few loose words, we've never even got close to that level of unhappiness (even during the TS era).

It raises the question as to do we really want CK as our manager?

I'm happy with Plan B. The B stands for Burman!

I am confident we will give a good account of ourselves and hopeful for a favourable result but let's not get too carried away lads, Margate will be big favourites. No doubt that our best is better than their worst so if we can be at our best then we have a decent chance, especially if they are not quite at the races. I've always liked going to Margate's ground and I know we can't win the Trophy, so I just hope it's a good game and that whoever is successful, the losers can be gracious in defeat and accept it with dignity.
