Southern League website has just put up result showing a 90th minute equaliser from Martin to share the points in front of a crowd of 105.

That means the Darts have played only 7 home games out of 18 played, and is the lowest number of home games played by any team in the league.

So if we can keep our form up at Stonebridge Road, the play offs are a definite possibility, as we are in touch now, even with our out of balance home/away games.

Well done Darts. We must have been battling to the end to score an important goal for our first away draw of the season. Look forwarding to receiving the reports later. It seems like a good point against a team on a good run.

Sorry to hear you missed the match, Trevor. At least you've saved your focal chords for Saturday against the Dons!!

Great result from what I expect was a very difficult trip.

Roll on Saturday.  Here's hoping the fog and snow keep well clear of North-West Kent.

Come on you DARTS!

It must have been the cold but neither team took the game by the scruff of the neck, although both teams looked like they could step up a gear.

Eddie was missing and missed. We saw a perfect display of long ball crap from both teams.

The only time either team got on top was after Wivenhoe's goal up to half time when Wivenhoe literally peppered our goal but guess who was on top form to make sure we went in at half time only one down.

At half time I heard and saw a Tony Burman I never thought existed but I'm sure he will tell you more about that if he wants to.

We were better (just better not good) second half and there were a few spells of good football amongst the standard let's win the ball back and then give it away again. One of these good moves was well into injury time when makeshift striker David Martin pounced and made no mistake from 8 yards.

A terribly small crowd (although a large proportion of Darts) to watch an indifferent performance, but the equaliser made the trip home a little better.

As Pete mentions above, loads of Home games ahead of us and if we keep our unbeaten record, nothing is beyond us if we pick up points playing like we have in the last 2 games.

Tony B has said from the off that he demands a positive RESULT from away games wether it be a win or a draw so from that point of view, mission accomplished.

BUT

the actual performance was dire from both sides and did little to warm us up, indeed there wasn't much cheering and clapping at the end because everyone was stunned into silence at the standard of the game!
Having said that 2 away games and 4 points, on the face of it good so my old addage that results matter more than entertainment rings true tonight.

There were more Darts fans present tonight than the home side so the team still enjoys outstanding support even on a freezing November night in deepest Essex.

I am pleased with another positive away result but a little dissappointed with the manner in which it was achieved.
Not playing well and getting a result far better for me than playing well and losing.

nothing really to add except that to the lads credit that they scored in the 90th minute which showed that they at least kept battling and got a point we diehards never reallly expected

the major frustration for me if that we continually win the ball and then a high percentage of the time give it straight back to the opposition which puts us immediately under pressure

no further comment but smashing turn out by the darts fans tonight , would have been so easy to justify a non appearance !!!!!

ROLL ON  SATURDAY !!!!!!

Well done to The Darts for the point and a move up one place, but even more thanks to the Darts fans who travelled and made it to the ground.

Doesn't sound too good a game but 4 points salvaged from two away games can't be all bad and with our record against clubs lower than us in the division Tilbury or Aveley etc last season then we must now capitalise on our home games and keep the points coming.

Using T.B.'s theory we should have 32 points winning the home games and drawing the away games, but we are still only 4 points off of that ideal scenario after some very dire away performances, so we must be in there with a shout of moving on up the table, provided we keep winning the home games.

Roll on Saturday, let the players get this game out of their system win or lose and get on with the league, or perhaps the draw for the next round.

I missed Tonys half time rant as our 1st half 'effort' was so poor i decided to hit the bar 5 mins before half time, can anyone reproduce it here?

I think Mad Mod's diplomatic description, plus Tony Burmans comments in his notes covers the point as far as the website goes, but I'm sure M.M. can enlighten you of more graphic details next time he sees you Kebabus.

Either way it achieved the desired result as Tony asked for an equaliser and got it, albeit with only a slight improvement by our players which created a dropping of the oppositions standards.

P.S.:- M.M. how many F's are there in a T.B. team talk

as usual very fair and positive notes from TB which just confirms that he cares as much as we do [ christ , he aint doing the job for the money !!!]

at the end of the day the team are all big boys and whilst no great football 2nd half we did get back into it and any team that scores in the last minute deserves credit as the whingers chuck the towel in - we didnt !!!

it passed now so concentration must be on saturdays game , get the prayer mats out to stop it snowing  !!!

Won't comment to much about lastnights game as it's already been said but it really was dire and as TB has said if it was n't for Kevin then we could easily have been at least 3 down by halftime. We had 2 shots in the 1st half which stung the keepers fingers a bit but they were straight at him.

2nd half we seemed to step our game up a little and it almost seemed a different Wivenhoe team that came out as they weren't spraying the ball about as much but we were still giving the ball away far far to often.

It seemed a case of playing with a hot potatoe as we had 1 touch and gave it to them we'd get another touch and then give it straight back again.

As Mod has said we really did seem to miss Eddie in midfield lastnight but we somehoe managed to get a point which is the main thing.

From what i understand there was far to many F's and S**ts to list out on here but quite a few people seemed to over hear TB's friendly  teamtalk at halftime including some of the oppositions supporters.

Still it obviously worked and he must of needed to get it out of his system.

Now here's to Saturdays big game.
