Obviously disappointed by the result, but having waited to see some of the early match reports coming in, it seems we took the Dons right to the wire. Even the AFC supporters are coming on site and thanking us for two excellent games. Disappointed, yes. But very proud of the fact the lads have given us a very good cup run with entertaining games against higher placed league teams.

I'm sure TB is very proud of the boys and pleased with the way in which they have all reacted to playing in front of some of the biggest crowds of their careers without freezing, especially the youngsters.

I think one danger we have to overcome is, not neccessarlly coming back to earth to league games again, but the lesser atmosphere generated by the smaller away league crowds - starting at Harlow - which will be another dificult game. So it's importtant to keep the away support as high as possible so it seems the lads are playing at home!!!  I'm quite sure this cup run will have encouraged a few more home fans back to the terraces.

To everybody at DFC, many thanks for the efforts so far. Tremendous. Held our own and not outclassed by any means against higher opposition. Just need to make sure we can take this level of performance into our league matches.

Isn't it just great to see the Darts name featuring again in the later rounds of the cup against after what seems like an eternity. And the scoreline flashing up on Sky as well ! We are on our way back !!!

Well played Darts'. Proud of you all.

my computer decided to crash last night so i was unable to listen to the game but a mate phoned me with the result.

thanks to the team for an excellent cup run.

the trips to dover and margate were great and it seems like everyone had a good night yesterday.

it proves that the current team can hold their own at a higher level.

well done to all involved.

Dear All,

Firstly what a credit the Dartford Fans were to their team last night, probably the most vocal support we have had at The Fans Stadium ever!!

Secondly what a credit the Dartford Fans were to their team last night, probably the most vocal support we have had at The Fans Stadium ever!!

and

Thirdly what a credit the Dartford Fans were to their team last night, probably the most vocal support we have had at The Fans Stadium ever!!

A very close game, score probably doesnt reflect the game, needless to say I think the right team won on the night.

I for one look forward to playing you when you return home in front of a packed ground.

Thanks for the memories.

Kind Regards

thanks to all for the reports, it really looks like we are the way up on the playing side as well as the ground.
it seems clear that the players are listening and learning from tony paul and robbo and things continue to improve
each time i watch them play they become more of a team and play as a unit rather than as individuals.
as the matches go on i think even more of the squad are capable of playing at a higher level
long may this management and coaching team continue

You had a great crowd at Kingsmeadow last night making plenty of noise, especially second half.  Smashing people who were happy to mix and chat after the game.

Best of luck rest of the season.

Cheers for that, i think that after these 2 games and the history of our respective clubs, (you are the real dons) there is a mutual respect there and our board etc should try and get a friendly on at Princes Park next summer (builders get on with it!)

Believe it or not we can be louder!

For us we must grind out results again at grounds with no atmosphere and push for the play offs.

I've just read Tony Burman's notes on last night's game and I have to say this ... Tony it was not a penalty. The incident happened 6 feet from where I was standing and I had a perfect view. It WAS however a blatant obstruction INSIDE the box so should have been an indirect free kick. The fact that the ref gave a direct free kick outside the box was therefore wrong on two levels, but probably didn't do us too much of an injustice.

In any case, I don't think we should dwell on that. Let's face it, we were never going to win the FA Trophy and in fairness, the best team won on the night. The important thing is that we have played 5 games in this competition against supposedly vastly superior sides and we have won 2, drawn 2 and lost only 1. Even Wimbledon took over 3 hours to break us down and score a goal which is a fine testimony to how we have progressed. Our team did us proud last night. The cup run was great fun and is just a taste of things to come.

This team of ours has improved so much that surely the play-offs are within our grasp. The cup run has taught us that even if we go up this year we will surely be able to survive at the higher level and puts an end to the worry that to do so would be dangerous because a struggling season may affect attendances as we seek to win back old fans. For my money we are going to be winners either way. If we miss out on promotion then we'll have a better chance next year but if we do go up then we are good enough to do okay and the blaze of publicity surrounding the promotion would undoubtedly put some numbers on the gate anyway.

All I know is that for the first time in a very long time I am having a great time following my club again. Oh boy its fun to be a Darts fan at the moment.

spike i agree with every word of your 3rd para. i have said a number of times we should aim for the playoffs and we seem to improve each week.

i keep saying that whoever finishes above waltham forest will at least be in the play offs.they are 3rd and think they can go higher. i am convinced we are better than them everywhere on the pitch except centre forward, (nothing wrong however with our centre forward we just play a different system )

it sounds to me that TB is really up for it and will insist players keep their feet on the ground.i really hope we improve the squad now with a quality player with the trophy cash and go for it.

Once again Steve McCartney/Kentish Football has come up trumps with a good balanced report on last nights game and some quotes from TB. A nice paragraph at the end of his report as well...

And one final note.  Well done to all the travelling Darts fans that gave their heroes fantastic support throughout the entire game - and even at 2-0 down.  They were a credit to their club on such a proud night.

Well done to The Darts for putting up a magnificent performance, which to most fans was the main reason for the club turning up at AFC, as we knew that it would be a hard game and if we won so much the better but if we did lose it had to be with pride and dignity and as Spike said we knew we were not going to win the trophy, so if we had to go out what better way than on a high note.

Secondly as one who was unable to attend the match but who has appreciated all the postings, let me thank all you fans who did attend for giving The Darts 100% vocal support even when they went behind, perhaps the chorus sounded more in tune without this old f**ts usual efforts to sing along.

As others have said lets get our feet back firmly on the ground for the game at Harlow, which you will remember we won last season, with us lads singing from a vantage point in the grandstand to get the best accoustics.(Plus using The 5ths hood on his coat for the scratchcard rubbish   )

LETS GO FOR THE PLAY OFF'S OR BETTER AND SHOW THAT THIS CUP RUN WAS NOT JUST A FLUKE.
