There was no penalty yesterday, Ryan threw himself to the ground looking for the spot kick. Not even any of the players made an appeal for it.

Sorry Matt, we'll have to disagree, I think it was a blatent penalty.  Just because Ryan went down looking for the penalty doesn't mean it wasn't.  It was still a late challenge from behind that I believe got the player and not the ball.  That for me is a penalty regardless of how Ryan went to ground, but as I said, the ref was not giving us free kicks, so we was never going to get a penalty.  I'd also like to think that storming through on goal, on a hat trick Ryan would much rather have a shot from 6 yards than have a penalty.

Also, our players are pretty good sportsman and rarely claim, free kicks, hand balls and penalty chances.

I don't think that the Aveley players were hackers, just intent on kicking our players, they were just not good enough, a little off the pace and late into challenges.  Dave Martin probably got away without being kicked because by the time the late challenges came in on him he was 10 yards away??

The fact remains that we were 3-0 up, cruising to victory and Ryan decided to put on a show, I loved it, best 45 minute performance I've seen from a player since our rebirth.  As Mad Mod said Ryan was man of the match by a mile.
