The Uxbridge New Years Eve Away Thread - 3pm? Why?!
« on: December 30, 2005, 11:25:41 AM »

So onward to the last game of the year. Why 3pm? It's not exactly Charlton to Newcastle but it's hardly a nice journey on New Years Eve

If it would have been a 1pm KO i could have gone but no chance, have to be at work in Dartford at 1730 so one less voice to cheer the mighty Darts on.

Just to let you all know there is a pitch inspection at Uxbridge at 1030.The groundsman says it is playable but the referee has to make the final decision.Stand by.

Thanks John,

Much appreciated - I tried to get through to the ground a couple of times and it was engaged!

0-0 15 mins

Pitch described as a 'cabbage patch', recipe for a scrappy game, no real chances so far.

2-0 down half time

Damn!

Seems we just cannot get going, the conditions certainly are favouring their physical long ball punts. No point in us reverting to the long ball as we have no large target man! Looks like we are doomed but stranger thing have happened.

Very dissappointing but we have had a good run recently, fingers crossed for 2nd half time.

We'll have to leave it to Tony to work his halftime magic Gregg.

Tranmere were 0-1 down on Wednesday and came back to win 4-1 at home v Yeovil, and continued today with a 2-0 win at Port Vale, so all things are possible. Keep the faith !!

Well TB has brought Eddie on for Mcguire but still 2-0 down after an hour.

Other excuse for losing is the over 30 mile journey we never seem to win on the longer trips! Think this one is the last of the longer trips.

Well since the last update there have been 2 goals!...................one each!

FINAL SCORE....UXBRIDGE 3  DARTS  1 Darts scorer Hayes

Sounds like the pitch and the ref were awful, i am sure that when they get time the chaps that were there will tell us all exactly the story of the afternoon.

I am gutted we lost BUT we have a local derby home match on Monday that we should win. See you there.
