So we await the reports to find out whether we pulled back to 2-1 and conceded a further goal chasing the equaliser, or went further behind and scored a consolation. Hopefully it was the former, battling to the end.

Thanks for the updates Gregg.

Sittingbournes game was postponed due to waterlogged pitch. Does that mean fresher - or rustier - legs for them.?

A game not unlike last years one when we lost 5-0 and Uxbridge had 10 men after the second goal.

This time the pitch was awful, not muddy just cut up and you couldn't find a flat spot anywhere just like playing on a roller coaster.

We weren't up for it at all and to be honest the result should have been closer to 5-1 to reflect the game, but thanks to several Kevin Hudson brilliant saves and their poor finishing it finished 3-1.

At 1-0 we had our only chance of the first half when Pullie turned the defender beat a second one and when it was harder to miss the target than hit it he went for power and blasted the ball just wide.

During the second half we struggled to create a single opportunity and until Eddie was brought on in place of Craig McGuire( not that he had done anything wrong) we didn't look like scoring.

The substitution together with switching Ryan Hayes into the middle and movng  Haffie on the wing showed alot more promise, but not before Uxbridge did their usual trick of getting a player sent off, striking Haffie as they jostled for a corner before the kick was taken.

Uxbridge then scored again to go 3-0 up before we pulled one back and put pressure on to get a second.

Ryan took the goal well after hesitating (or taking his time, it seemed an age) as he received a cross from Stevie Haffner who had run down the line and then cut inside.

As Ryan celebrated you had to feel sorry for him as he looked straight at us fans behind the goal waiting for the reaction, of which there was little, as we knew it was all over bar the shouting( or not) with just a few minutes plus injury time to come.

However there was no way we would get any more goals and the final whistle blew with the result flattering us.

A poor show from all the players bar Ryan Hayes and Kevin Hudson and Haffie in the second half.

Lets hope that we have got our poorest game in defence for a long long while out of the way and we can start the new year with a win at home against Sittingbourne.

Not the best of performances at all, the pitch was absolutely disgraceful and should never have been allowed to be played on, it looked more like a bomb disposal site rather than a football pitch. There was so many rutts and dips in the pitch that it was probably worse to run up and down that than going on the worst roller coaster in the world. How nobody got a serious injury or broken ankle on it i don't know.

The officiating was atroucious again with the referee making some very strange disissions all game, the only one he did seem to get right was the sending off. When all the aggro kicked off he just seemed to walk away from it all and just kept blowing his whistle rather than getting inbetween the players to split it up.

The opposition were a very dirty side basically the same as they were last season but they seemed to make us look stupid at times and should really have stuffed us and would've done if not for Kevin Hudson and some poor finishing at times.

Why they seemed to find the need to slap Stevie Haffner in an off the ball incident and get a player sent off whilst winning 2-0 i will never know but i think Richard Avery was a bit lucky not to get sent off or at least booked for clearly pushing who i think was the offender 2 handedly right into the back of the net.

As for the rest of the game the performance from the players was a real disappointment as they seemed to almost be scared of the opposition at times and let them bully us. As i've said the pitch was appalling and there was no way in the world you could play on the deck football and both Dave Martin and Ryan Hayes had very big trouble making runs down the line but we just seemed to keep giving the ball away and our passing was terrible.

There seemed to be a great big hole in the centre of our midfield where Ryan Briggs kept going out wide and playing down 1 side leaving Craig McGuire on his own.

We was playing long high balls forward to Pully who stood no chance at all of winning the ball against their defenders. Uxbridge seemed to come out to rattle us and their plan really worked.

I can except losing and it had to happen sooner or later after the good run we've been having but it's just the way it happend and the way we played that i didn't like.

I only hope the players are ready and fired up for Mondays game against Sittingbourne.

Very interesting observations and it may have been a game too far for our lads, we must take this defeat on the chin, put it behind us, shake the mud off and put it down to a bad day at the office. Uxbridge is not a very good place to visit with a small ground and no fans.

We have a home Kent Derby tomorrow on a better pitch, forget Ugly Uxbridge and play to our strengths vs the Brickies, a win will sustain our position in the mix and I would have taken this position we are in big time at the start of the season!

Our home results will be pivotal come the end of the season when we have the chance to beat the teams above us, belief belief belief.
