Yes we need this one for several reasons,

1. To maintain our home record.

2. To avenge the away defeat which we should have won.

3. To get over Saturday's blues and get defeat out of our minds.

4. To at least stay in 5th spot putting pressure on the 3 teams in top spots who have games in hand but have to pick up the points, or close on Stamford in 4th who have played a game more.

5. But most of all it's a New Year so let's start it off with a win, not just for the fans, but for the whole team, players, management, directors and everyone connected to this great club.

For DFC it's a new year, new ground, better prospects than for more than 12 years and everything to play for, win lose or draw, promotion automatically, a top six placing or we stay where we are for another season, perhaps in a different league at the same level.

Who cares because at the end of the day we are Darts fans through and through and next season we will be watching the team at whatever level, but in a new stadium and after all watching The Darts is what it is all about.

here's hoping for a great win tomorrow and there is no reason why it cant happen.every team loses games and the test of whether you are a good team is to forget the defeat and win the next game.

one thing worries me and i wonder if anyone has the answer.i have seen us play six times this season, won  4 and drawn 2 . the thing that grabs me most each game i have seen is how good hudson henry and avery are , and c arter and especially osbourne are also as good as anyone in their positions from what i have seen.in fact i go on record saying i think we may have the best defence in this league.

why then have we let in the most goals of the top 10 ,and let in less than only 1 of the top 14 .

we do have a very good back line so why so few clean sheets, and when we lose its never 1-0 more like 3-1

can we have 4 clean sheets on the trot please

I think the answer is very simple,we virtually have no midfield to provide cover in front of the defence.Unfortunately this has been the problem for as many years as i can remember and we do not seem any nearer a solution. They are steady defenders but unfortunately it seems that they are continually under pressure.Hopefully TB who has turned our fortunes around so well can now find possibly two strong ball winning midfielders as i feel this is the final missing link to a really good side. I just wish this was so easy in practice.

i am sure you are right john, there never seems to be a link between defence and midfield.when the backs are under pressure their main option seems to be a long ball and more often than not the long ball gives away possesion.
we are in a great position to ease a new player in now,how good would it be to for it and get this man in.

from reading the postings from uxbridge it seems that i picked a really crap game to miss

we need to be a bit careful about commenting that every game we lose is " cause the pitch was crap and also the officials "

just remember that its the same for both sides !!!!!!

another thought is that we dont play when the other team roughs us up ???   ,  if i was an oppo manager the 1st thing i,d do is tell my boys to kick a few , i dont advocate that but we are in  a big boys league and at times its rough

has tony pamphlett got a son whos old enough and available ?????

see you at the sittinbourne match

It's not being used as an excuse Duke as you're quite right it is the same for both sides, but it was a fact that the pitch was absolutely disgusting and shouldn't have been played upon and the ref was absolutely terrible giving most of his decisions their way.

He couldn't even get simple throw in's correct half the time, when the ball was in he gave it as out and when it was out he waved play on. The so called assistants were just as bad.

But hey theres no point in moaning and going on about it as it's over and we lost.

Simple as that.  :x

Could not get to the match today.  Half-time 0-0 according to Radio Kent, with the Darts making most of the chances.

Radio Kent tell us with seven minutes left, the score is still 0-0.  Come on Dartford, we need to win this one to keep the momentum going.  Six points from Christmas would be great, four would be disappointing.

Come on you DARTS!

I could say we should have won, but I will say we would have won had the chances we created been on target, with only a great Briggs free kick being matched by an equally good save in the first half and two good saves from Ryano in the second half, one coming in the 90th minute.

Both Ryano and Davy Martin were superb attacking down the wings and the number of crosses Davy put in that were wasted, as we had nobody in the box to finish them occurred on numerous occasions.

Pullie had a chance as early as the second minute when a perfect cross found him un-marked, but all he did was toe end the ball softly to their keeper, later he was in another good position on the edge of the box but blasted wide.

We are sadly missing Jimmy Carter because Davy and Ryano can't create all the wing play and score all of the goals and it was an off day for Eddie who kept missing the target and Stevie Haffner was also a culprit from close range.

The defence was not really troubled although Gary Carter was exposed several times and Kevin only had one real save to make plus a dive at their forwards feet.

With 75% plus of the play we really should have made more of the chances at home against another poor club and this was definitely two points lost.

We speak of needing a strong midfield player, but with Jimmy out for a while we could do with another centre forward who can pick up on the high balls, especially from corners and free kicks and take advantage of those telling crosses low and hard into the box.

despite being 0-0 today it was actually an exciting game with us doing most of the attacking and sittingbourne giving us a dose of our own medicine with the kind of bl...dy good defensive performance that we got away with this season at places like arlesey and wivenhoe

were were lightening down the wings with davie martin at times superb and several of his crosses went begging [ oh for a 6 yard sniffer] and ryan hayes also coming up with the goods

also 0-0 good result for club funds !!!!

was ossie taken off for tactical reaqsons , injury or as a reward for clocking up 100 appearances ???

still we are not polishing teams off and the almost inevitable draw as the game went on

the best news of the day is we got a point and ALL of the teams around us gained no ground as enfield town, bwood and corby all DREW and arlesey , bwood and waltham forest both LOST BUT chatham won again and are only 3pts behind us with 2 games in hand

so fate being a bit kind to us lets build on it

squad still on the thin side will TB be spending spriggys wages [ as he is out for the season] on ANOTHER decent midfielder ???

good time to get 3pts of arlesey this saturday

Reasonable performance today - much improved from Saturday. I caught Radio Kent on the way home, stating how Dave Martin was going places, with a "wicked" turn of pace. Let's hope this publicity stays as low key as Radio Kent.

2 points dropped for me, although the players gave their all and i cannot fault them, my only slight dig is that we could have brought on some fresh legs as we looked 80% at best.

One look at the other results will show an opportunity lost, only taking 1 point from playing teams in the bottom 6 is a shame.

Still our small squad tried its best and the priority should be to bring in a couple of fresh faces as injury etc starts to hurt us.

A good attendance today although there certainly didn't look 407 watching a typical localderby which ended in a 0-0 bore draw.

We had quite a few chances to finish them off but with some poor finishing, good keeping from Steve Williams and nobody in the box to pick up and finish Davey & Ryans crosses you just couldn't really see a goal coming.

As much as i like Pully he just doesn't look up to it at the moment, he was never in the right place when the crosses came in, when he does get a chance he messes it up and with his height there is no way he's ever going to win anything in the air.

We really are missing Jimmy Carter at the moment and hope he's back soon, although from what i hear he could well be out for a while yet with his injury. If this is the case then we do need to look for someone else to be able to play up front to win the balls both in the air and on the deck and finish the chances when they get them, even if it's just a loan player for a month or two.

Also we've got to get a strong central midfielder in whose going to put there foot on the ball when they have it and is going to be a strong ball winner. When ever Eddie was forward today and Sittingbourne broke away there was always a huge gapping hole in the middle which they just ran through and put our defenders under a lot of pressure.
Ryan Briggs just seems to drift in & out of the game all the time and seems to get pushed off of the ball quite a bit.

Gary Carter was constantly leaving his man today and was nearly always being left for dead and gave their winger far far to much time and space on the ball which caused us quite a few problems. He was also doing the same against Uxbridge.
I think that Tommy Olson should now be given his chance at rightback and give Gary a bit of a rest as sooner or later i can see us getting more problems down that righthand side.

Both Dave Martin and Ryno worked their socks off up & down the wings today with Dave leaving Sittingbournes fullback for dead on every occasion and fully deserved his MOTM award today. Even Radio Kent was really bigging Davey up after the game before and after the interview with Tony.

Richard Avery and Tony Henry covered reasonably well at the back although both did get caught out on the odd occasion.

I would have to say that it was probably 2pts dropped today rather than 1pt gained as Sittingbourne were certainly there for the taking but unfortunately we didn't do it.

Thankfully the other teams around us in the league either drew or lost today so we still stay 5th but if we had managed to win by at least 2 goals then we would've gone 4th.

These next few weeks are going to be very difficult games with both Arlesey & Wivenhoe at home then Waltham Forest away with 2 of these teams pushing for the automatic promotion & play off places. Fingers crossed the players are going to be fired up and ready for some very tough games ahead of them.

One good thing from today is that we've finally managed to have the highest gate of the day and our average attendance has now gone up by 15 to 273 which at the moment means our average compared to last season has risen by 13.

Was it just me or did anyone else who heard Tony's interview on Radio Kent think that Tony was almost hinting for clubs to come & look at Dave Martin with the basis that if they're interested then they would have to pay for him.

Hopefully Dave & Ryan will both be with us for a long time yet but who knows, if a good offer comes in for either of them then it might have to be considered. Richard Avery has to be included in this as well.
