On reflection (after the chance was missed!) it's easy to have a dig, but had the shot gone in, we'd have been well pleased. I think we'd all accept (himself included) that Pully isn't the ideal lone striker,
I accept that IF the chance had gone in then yes i would've been happy because we'd have scored BUT Pulley isn't the quickest of players and considering he had a few yards on the defender when he picked the ball up the defender caught him stright up and closed him down & put the challenge in when it was easier to pass to a completely unmarked & open Ryan who was screaming for the ball and who would've almost certainly done a better job of it and probably found the net. I know Ian is trying his best and wants to score goals but that was just greedyness on his behalf.
I do agree with you though that Ian isn't lone striker material and i can't understand why we keep playing him as that, surely it would be better to play either Ryno, Domanic or Haffy up front with him in the middle to give him that extra bit of support rather than leaving him on his own, but Tony obviously knows what he is doing which is a hell of a lot more than i do.

I think though, that there weren't that many clear cut chances anyway, despite plenty of good approach play, so on that basis, it's not all down to poor finishing.
I think we did create quite a few good and some clear cut chances but we just didn't have anyone in the middle to recieve Dave & Ryans crosses. Fingers crossed that Tony might be able to find someone that can meet these crosses and finish them off.
