a very up and down type team who leak goals but have the league leading goalscorer banging them in

providing richard and anthony on on form we whould be o k

intersting selection " problem " for TB if everyone fit , will it be 2 up front which means a surplus midfielder or  just brendan up front with pully on bench

still a nice " problem " for TB to have

really must be a 3 pointer though

Dead right Duke, although I recall when seeing Brendan playing for Chatham, that he probably prefers to play alongside another striker, so I'd guess two up front. Also, he strikes me as a forward who would like to play off a bigger target man, to hold the ball up, flick-ons etc, someone like James, in fact!

Not sure who I'd leave out from the midfield though, that's a tough one, but perhaps if Dave or Eddie are injured, the decision might sort itself out.

The point is though, that he's a quality player, so I reckon he'll do a grand job for us whatever formation we play.

I think there's a fair chance we'll play with two up front Duke, but if not, I reckon it will be Pully up front on his own and Brendan on the bench. You can't just walk into this team you know, you have to earn your place ... not like last year thank God!

IN GENERAL TERMS I AGREE WITH YOU IF PULLY HAD GOT A HAT FULL OF GOALS BUT WE AINT LOOKED GREAT  RECENTLY IN THE MAIN STRIKER POSITION SO A PROVEN GOALSCORER LIKE BRENDAN HAS TO PLAY  !!!!

sorry for capitals but omitted to release cap lock [ wouldnt want to offend anyone !!]

The inportant thing to consider when new players are brought in is the competition for places and the other trump card - tactical choices.

To maintain our challenge we must try and win all our home games from now on, attack attack attack!!

See you all there and to the regulars The Teacher (Steve) wants to make himself known! Steve the guys selling the programme and raffle are all regulars they will introduce themselves, we all get on really well!

Cass must play !!!

What is the point of having a 16 goal striker if your putting him on the bench

I'm not saying he shouldn't play, I was just making an observation and I'll be quite happy with TB's selection whatever it is. I reckon Cass will prove to be a great signing and will probably play on Saturday (in a 4-4-2 formation), but if TB decides to go with the lone striker, it wouldn't surprise me if it was Pully.

Tony knows what he is doing, the results prove that. I think that one of the most important things he has done since he arrived is to improve team morale. (I know this because you dont get the players going around slagging him off behind his back). In my view, this is because he is fair and impartial, i.e. doesn't have favourites like his predecessor seemed to have and thinks before he opens his mouth. All TB's changes have been slow and measured, which is why we have been making steady progress. Contrast this with the previous incumbent whose team selection seemed to be half a dozen favourites plus 5 random names plucked out the phone book.

I don't think TB would ever allow team spirit to be destroyed by a situation where the other members of the squad perceived someone as a "Johnny Big Bananas" coming straight in and riding rough shod over the others. We came a little close to this when Tostao was at the club, and good as he was, there were one or two voices in the camp who felt he was treated a bit better than the rest. Once you start to get divisions in the team it can all fall apart very easily.

I think Tony's team selection is simply based on a combination of what is the best formation for each of our opponents, who played well for us in previous games and who is fighting to get in the team. Cass' record suggests he is a great signing, but I'm sure he'll have to fight for his place like all the others.

Having said all that, if Cass' record is anything to go by, it won't be long before he has made the shirt his own anyway.

I think you have it spot on Spike because T.B. tries to have a team for every occasion depending who the opponent is and if we are home or away.

He can only pick the team and if the players selected don't perform then we have a selection of players on the bench who might be called upon to change the formation or a particular player.

But T.B. will not upset the team morale by just allowing a player to go straight into the team unless he feels it warrants it and if so he will then explain the situation to any players who might have to be dropped.

Either a forward perhaps if we play one up front or a midfielder if we go with two, however if they are on the bench it's not the end of the world and the chance is there to come on and prove Tony wrong later in the game.

Most important is that we go for the win, 5 draws at home is too many and we need the three points.

Thankfully Borehamwood only got a 0-0 draw away at Barking to use up a game in hand of theirs over the chasing pack, but enough to see them go back to the top.

Provided we can win this Saturday and perhaps the next two home games then we will have put pressure on the teams above and closed right up especially with Borehamwood having the Trophy game on 4th Feb.

I would far sooner have the points in the bag than games in hand as the teams around us are finding it hard to win the matches and pull away from or close up on us.

seems a bit that a couple of guys maybe feel that  " WE " are having a go at TB by speculating on various team issues

NOT SO ,  TB is not sensitive to it  , he told us its fun reading it and we just know that he will do what he believes is best and thats just fine by 99.9% [ and probably 100%] of ALL genuine dart fans

i enjoy the debating and counter views , even if no-one agrees with me !!!!

TB has brought brendan in for ALL the right reasons and will do whats right for the team and handle any " swell " with his usual style

looking forward to saturday [ hoping we will see brendan for 90 minutes] and a deserved 3 pts

Let's hope he's not a defender or he might get skinned.
