Im not sure how you never heard any of the comments made and shouted out Kebabus as the 2 or 3 main culprits were all standing just in front of you in the 1st half and just behind me.

And they must of been shouting as even Tony heard it from the dugout when we was all standing at the other end of the pitch during the 1st half and other supporters could here some of what was being shouted from the other side of the pitch.

Hopefully this is the end of any abuse towards any DFC players whether a regular 1st teamer or a fringe player.

Well, it seems as though a few of you know who the culprits of the abuse are. If they are that well known and their actions were abusive, then they should be identified, and they should also receive a letter from the Club warning them as to their future conduct or face a ban from attending games.

Even at parks football, I understood FA rules make the home team become responsible for the behaviour of spectators, so I assume the same applies at the non league level. Action can also include eviction from trhe ground.

Their attendance and poor behaviour is not welcome, especially as we bid to improve our crowds when we return to the borough.

This is my last post for a week whilst I am away on holiday. Lucky there is no game on Saturday, but will have to rely on papers for the Uxbridge result on Tuesday !!

I was chatting (and eating surprisingly) quite a bit in that crap first half, I guess 'that' shouting etc passed me by! Hate it though, what's the point? Exactly, there is no point! Slagging off your own team after all its been through is a disgrace! I'm all for free speech but get behind the team, never take a cheap shot.

Matt, i'll do 100 lines;

'I must take more notice of what is going on around me' I must take more....................................

Good night.

It wasn't that bad Pete, don't worry about it and have a nice holiday!

I'm not saying that it was acceptable behaviour and of course it's something that we could do without, but it's a football match and people are going to say stuff like  that.  Like Kebabus, it kind of passed me by ad I didn't really notice it too much.  I heard the few people moaning about the team and a couple of people say they wouldn't have bothered had they known, but football's a mans game and I'd like to think the players have got thicker skin than that.  It was certainly knowhere near as bad as the Aveley embarrassment last season, which should have resulted in a ban, (or a broken nose  )!!

Again, not that I agreed with them, I thought the team we put out was fine.  Firstly Olson in for Carter, some of these people who were moaning have been moaning that that should be a full time thing anyway.  Cass was cup tied(so Pulman played) and Eddie was carrying a knock(So Mags played).  That leaves Craig and Potter who came in for Briggs and Martin, so I was really looking at it from the point of view that we made 2 real changes, 1 if you include Martins ankle!  Hardly anything to write home about.

However, I must admit to thinking on more than 1 occasion "wish I hadn't bothered" during the first half.  Not because of the team, it was just a boring first half both on and off the pitch.  No atmosphere apart from the odd bit of abuse between the Ramsgate teenagers or the Ramsgate geriatric brigade.  It was just a drab half of football.

Second half was much better and I enjoyed it.

My final thought(Jerry Springer style(and just to be Devils advocate)) is that I've often heard people shouting "Coome on Ryan", "come on Gary" or "Come on Darts, What are you playing at" shouted at full voice from the stands, I've also seen postings on this site absolutely ripping into players, with the Rhino posts the ones that stand out the most.  What makes those actions any more justified than what went on at Ramsgate??

I have to argue your last point TLD about the Ryan analogy, and would go as far as to say totally wrong.

Constructive criticism was made about Ryan not abuse of a player as was demonstrated at Ramsgate.

I was one of several who criticised Ryan at the time, not because he was a young player not quite up to first team selection, but because we all knew his abilities to take on and beat players, cut inside and score goals and get in telling crosses, none of which were happening very often at the time of my comments.

At the Margate cup game I sat down and spoke to Ryan and owned up along with The 5th to being two of the people who had criticised him and he accepted our opinion.

So whilst I would never claim any influence over what happened after the criticism, I think we have all noticed the turn round in Ryan's performances since and our full support and echo's of Ryano Ryano.

On the other hand to hurl abuse at young inexperienced players who have yet to make first team regular appearances and who are recognised as bench/reserve team players learning from watching the first teamers, can do little or nothing for their confidence and certainly wouldn't have spurred them on to a better performance.

I'll will admit as everyone already knows that it was me that posted the comments about Ryan which you are trying to tip toe around saying TLD, just come out and say your having a dig i can accept it.

The difference is that i spoke to Ryan about it afterwards and he accepts my comments and even he accepted that he wasn't playing his best at the time where as what happend at Ramsgate and the comments that were being made were bang out of order. Some of the changes Tony was forced into making and we did have a slightly weaker and in experianced side out mainly in the 1st half BUT i had already accepted that and was glad Tony did field a slightly weaker side and gave some of the younger bench/reserve players a run out and a chance.

We was up against a very good experianced Ramsgate team who are on a great run at the moment and it was helping absolutely nobody shouting out the comments and abuse that those certain so called supporters did.

And yes i did and still do think that Tommy Olson should be given more of a chance in the fullbacks position in place of Gary Carter.

THE END

At our best with what you would call our strongest 11 I am sure that we would have matched Ramsgate, to be honest I didn't think that they were that great, but the decision was made to give a few other lads a run out and that's fine as covered before.

There is no need either to apologise for expressing a view that an individual may make so long as it is not deemed to be abusive. Sometimes we all agree to disagree on things sometimes but we are all adults and still need to get behind the lads at this important time.

Lads it could be a lot worse we could be Dover fans!
