What a complete load of balls!  Now we're not allowed to call the refs a banker??  What's the world coming to??

You do all realise that we are supporting a football team, not watching crown green bowls?

Get over it, I rarely swear outside of a football ground, but I take no offence to anybody using swear words at football, they're all in the dictionary after all!

We all joked about refs being rotters and when they f'cked up there was a funny comment like "oh dear referee, you really made a boo boo there didn't you" but come on, we don't want to hear that every week, do we?

If people want to stand somewhere else because somebody says f*ck, that's up to them, but I find it all a bit childish!  I can't believe that people could think of me as an "unacceptable fan" because I shout out at the ref or call a player a fat b'stard.

Our job as supporters are to be the twelth man, be it by supporting our own team or by intimidating the away team.  My preference would be both.  Had we done both on Saturday, I've no doubt we would have given Dartford a better chance to get 3 points.  Visiting teams in this league can be got at, they're not used to atmosphere and it can make a big difference.

Couldn't agree more. Swearing has always been a part of football, not that I am saying it is right. It used to be far far worse at Watling Street indeed I learnt some of the finest Queens English as Watling Street. I don't go along to deliberately swear, it just happens. Look at Scott Haughton who played for Arlesey. He got pelters from us, "you fat b*****" etc etc. He took it in good stead and gave it back as well. It's all part of football.

If you want a nice sterile atmosphere, then goto the Premiership and watch a Charlton or Arsenal game, take you picnic and sing "Red Army" all clapping in unison.  :lol:

but do we really want to have our team play in near silence at the expense of a few expletives ?

Absolutey not old chap and here's my two bob worth on the matter;

This subject about the support has now reached laughable levels! For those who do not remember watching the Darts in the late 70's and 80's till our exit will know that the swearing was a lot WORSE then! As its been mentioned before swearing is part of the game, players do it all the time and Uxbridge had a player sent off for incitement of the crowd! There is one swear word that is really offensive and is rarely heard (but i know a few! :wink: ). Nicholls came in for stick because of who he is (was) and the way he fell from grace to play for a small club like Ux! Maybe the frustration factor came into it but they were not very friendly and by being offensive to us they got it back! I would like to think that game was a one off for the amount of abuse that was flying around solely down to the fact that they were also abusive in the first game.

If anyone thinks that everyone of our new fans at PP will not swear then that's cloud cuckoo land i am afraid! Have you seen some of the people frequenting Dartford of an evening?

Take swearing away from a fan is like taking the aggresive nature away from a player, Horan, Wise, Keane, ROONEY, catch my drift?

Heard the bench swear?

Personally i do swear especially at Football but its not that often and is usually met with laughter from fans and players a like (sometimes refs!).

There is NOT a major problem here so lets crack on and carry on giving our team loud passionate support.

I wasn't referring to the "choir", who I include people on this site, but to some of the idiots who turned up (again, people I've never seen before) who looked like they wanted to hit the linesman when he gave a decision against us. It's the last I'm posting on the subject because general consensus seems that I need to "go to the Valley with my picnic", despite the fact that I'm only stating what I've heard others talking about on the terraces. I'll quite happily talk to people face to face about it, but not on here when the pack mentality starts to seep through.

I'm locking this because the weekend's over but feel free to open another thread on the matter and discuss it amongst yourselves.
