Bugger!

Still, I'd have been happy with a point at the start.  Hopefully the boys have turned round the bad run now.

Just look at the results pages in the Sunday papers and see just how many goals are scored in the 90+ minutes. There are always quite a few!

wivenhoe and chatham defeats  good for us today but its getting very tight with w forest now 1pt behind , same no of games  but both barking and wivenhoe can go above us if they win the game in hand

there are 5 other clubs [+ rothwell as outsiders] along with us chasing for that last [ 6th ] position play off place

extra big games coming up  AT HOME , next week vs ENFIELD TOWN and on march 25th CORBY  !!!

god , do we need 6pts !!!!

Definitely a game of two halves with the wind being the biggest factor, Darts over hitting the ball first half with long punts up field or down the line, with a similar situation second half for Barking.

We looked nervous at the back again in the first 15 minutes and the goal coming on 17 mins was expected, with the break down the left wing and a good cross finished off with a tap in.(Almost a copy of the Darts second goal)

Close on half time what I believe appeared to be a poor miss hit free kick ran on low into the goal area and Richard Avery was the first to respond, running across goal in front of the defender to flick the ball home from close in.

Second half following a very stern half time talk by Tony we took advantage of the wind holding up the through passes and constantly put pressure on their right back with Davie playing out of his skin down the wing and hitting in pinpoint crosses.

The second goal had to come and when Davie got to the bye line yet again he cut inside past the defender, then drew a second one before sliding the ball hard across the goal for Eddie to side foot in at the far post.

Shortly afterwards Davie did it again getting to the bye line and hitting a peach of a cross to the far post where Brendan just managed to get his head on the ball head downwards and against the post.

Several more scares for their goalie before we made three substitutions to reinforce the midfield and in the case of Eddie to avoid further damage to a slight knock.

Well into injury time although I think the goal was given as 90 mins we had a slight lapse in concentration where we failed to clear the ball up field and were punished by a good hard low shot just inside the post.

A good fighting performance which left us with a point which we would probably have settled for before the start.

It was good to see Ryan Hayes and Brendan Casse both tracking back more and harassing the Barking players on the ball, Eddie outstanding with several runs, some stern tackling and clever passing, Davie of course his usual self beating defenders inside and out and the remainder of the players lifting their game to help gain a point and very nearly three.

Roll on Enfield Town and lets get a win at home.

Thanks for that result chaps, helped us out niceley!

Not really sure how we won today, we were quite poor, but at least we seem to have started to win again.

This could all get very close come the end of the season, and we've got corby away....oh dear

oh and rambo, what did you think of our first goal? For a few seconds, no one had any idea what on earth was going on, and then we realised it somehow snuck in!

I think our penalty deffiently wasnt one, but because of the way he cocked up so badly with our first shout, he had to give it. The keeper was warned twice to stay on his line, by both the ref and the lino, but yet he went on a little wander, and therefore we had another pop!

hi forest - its getting and probably gonna be tight for that last two play off places with you and us and 4 others all withinin a shout !!!

i reckon borehamwood, enfield , stamford and [ regretfully] corby are pretty much o k and whilst we badly want it,  we do reckon you and the wivenhoe guys are well ok and if it cant be us then hope its you two

we have HOME MATCHES to come against three of the current top 4  , BWOOD, ENFIELD TOWN and CORBY and  our destiny is very much in our own hands and needless to say that 300+ of us will be giving OUR team that extra vocal support

note you guys have brought in another couple of players [ i from france !!] so you must be treating it seriously

LONG LIVE NON LEAGUE FOOTBALL !!!!

forest g you won because you were better, once you scored you played them off the park.tou now look a stronger team, i dont know where hakan plucked the new players from.
i think your first goal was similar to theirs, the player on the ball ran out of options to pass to then simply shot and hoped.
i would have given the penalty, it was a trip by the fat no.2 and the ref ignored a shirt pull just before.

i said at the start of the season whovever finishes above you will be in the play offs and i still stick to that.i was hoping we would go up together but alas it looks like a group of clubs fighting for the last place. i think we have both suffered from young inexperienced legs playing on soft and sticky grounds but now the grounds are hardening i am sure both clubs results will improve.
its a shame you will just miss out on the playoffs as we will nick it then suprise everyone by going up

I agree that the hardening of the ground, and our new signings have helped.

The 8 who scored today is one of those hopefuls who turn up to training looking for a game, and he turned out to be quite good!
We had a forward last week, Ludovic Dje, who was a differnet class, unluckily for us, he played once, scored, and went to hayes!

I'd like to see us two in the play-off final, but it really could be between anyone. Some teams have harder run-ins than the others - we had a really tough patch a few months ago, and now we havnt really got too many teams to worry about. Out of our last 4, our toughest test are Arlesey, Wivenhoe, Barking and Corby. All but the latter I think we are genuinly capable of beating.

I'm from france too Duke, my mother is French! So i'm a St Etienne fan, and funnily enough, so are two of the geezers from Boreham Wood!

How ruddy annoying it is to concede a goal 4 minutes into Dovertime!

Much better effort all round 2nd half after TB rallied the troops.

We have a big home game next Saturday, so get those throats ready for some serious vocal backing, you know it makes sense.
