the darts played much better than they have recently but were screwed by a bunch of bolton wannabes and a crap fat bastard ref.You cannot balem dave martin for missing his chances as he was the best player on the pitch,if we did not have him we would not even be in the top ten.The vocal support from the darts crowd was fantastic definately the best in the league. How much longer will jimmy carter be injured for? as we desperately need him.

matt - the 5th and many others have given them a break [opinion based over 32 games so far ] and with brad potter, tommy olsen and now glen  billeness and teddy ansell back inthe frame then perhaps it is time for a change ???

i am all for loyalty and not reacting to a knee jerk but the time must be getting closer ????

competition not comfort is the key to success !!!!!

I was just having a bit of a laugh with a witty what's good for the goose/pot and kettle gag!

I don't even know the 2 players the 5th's talking about but I'm guessing you do??  Based on playing 32 of the 33 games so far I'm assuming it's Tony Henry and Kevin Hudson??  Can't think of anyone else only missing 1 game or less!

Also, Banksy has got this one spot on!

matt - thank god that youre a better salesman than you are detective !!!

i didnt mean that the 2 i refered  to have played 32 games [ although a good number ] and  kev [ who i have the greatest respect for ]  will be my choice as player of the season and  is the last player i would have meant and tony henry not far behind !!!!

players [ even like good salesmen ] have off days and if too many,  benefit from a break and thats where young olsen. potter and glen billeness fit in !!!!

TB is the boss but he didnt make the world cup finals either !!!!!!

Well I just can't fathom it out then Dave because the critisism has come after a game where we put up a good fight and all 11 players deserve credit for it.

If I were to have an educated guess using the "constructive expressions of disappointment" (which might I add only came to surface once we were behind) then I'd take a stab at Gary C and Ryan Briggs.

I think it's a bit unfair to critisise them after yesterday.  I didn't see much action from their left side which leads me to believe that GC played ok(I can't blame him for the free kick either as I didn't think it was a free kick!!).  Briggs had a good game and was one of our better players for the first half, seemed to tire towards the end.

Just to leave on another pot and kettle witty remark, leave poor old Banksy alone.  Didn't they teach you that sentences start with a capital letter when you took your English degree?  At least Banksy managed to slip a couple of them in there!  Don't get me stared on carear, what's that??  A new invention so that your car can hear a police siren or another car when it beeps you, so that it can warn you?

:? TLD, As i didn't actually mention either of the players names then you have absolutely no idea who im actually talking about, also if you read my comments again i haven't once mentioned that they didn't contribute anything to the game.

A really good match which was very enjoyable to watch. A much improved all round performance which leads me to think that the end of our poor run is just around the corner now. Ok, the result was disappointing, but no less disappointing that our smash and grab at their place earlier this season was for their fans I guess.

I felt all of the team played well, but the missed chances in the first half were always going to cost us dearly against a good side, who don't give you many opportunities. It's important we don't let the disappointment of losing cloud our view of the team and individual performances, otherwise we're no better than the Dover mob, God forbid.

On the individual performances front, whilst Brendan again didn't show us what he can do yesterday, I'm still inclined to give him my full support, knowing that he is a quality player, well proven at this level. I've seen him play for Tonbridge and Chatham, and been impressed by him. When we lost 1-0 to the Chats at their place earlier this season, I remember saying that I would love to see him playing for the Darts, because he's the type of proven goalscorer we desperately needed. So I've no problem with him being a Dart whatsoever. I rate him highly, and I've no doubt that he'll come good for us, sooner rather than later.

I just sense at the moment that his head is dropping a bit because things aren't working. This means that he's not anticipating chances and therefore not looking like scoring either and becuase he's not anticipating chances, he's looking slow too. I still think though that we're being a bit tough on him, with very high expectations from day one. I don't recall seeing him play as a lone striker before, but I might be wrong there. When the Chats beat us, he played alongside Glen Billiness (please can we have a definitive spelling!) and they looked a dangerous pair.

I was a bit suprised that Glen didn't come on sooner to try something different.  I feel pretty certain they will both be playing (up front) on Saturday against Potters Bar, and I'll back Brendan to get on the scoresheet, more than once!

My take on the game was that we played very well, we had 4 or 5 excellent chances to win the game, I was most impressed with Brad Potter who played very intelligently in front of the centre backs.

I do question the manager though, when we went behind (or even earlier)we should have gone straight to playing to 2 up front the new bloke was only brought on with a few minutes left, hardly any time to make an impact, the game was dead when he came on.  It would have been nice to have action earlier and we might have scraped a point.

I think Brad's been fantastic the last few games; he's really pushed himself to the front of the queue for a place in the side. I'd rather focus on the positives like his performance, than go into the Brendan debate.

I agree Gary, Brad has done well. If I'm honest I would have to admit that I didn't really think he was up to it, but the last couple of games he has really surprised me. I'll be very happy to be proved wrong.

I thought we played well on Saturday and were a bit unlucky, but at the end of the day we didn't take our chances.

It's fascinating reading some of the previous postings. People who have previously viciously slagged off other players and managers, getting all high and mighty about a few honest comments like the ones in Ronaldo's posting. Although I agree it was way past time for him to go, the stick some people gave Tommy Sampson was very harsh considering all the good things he had done for our club in the past. Brendan on the other hand, hasn't contributed diddly squat to the Darts yet, and the same people are getting all defensive at the merest suggestion that he's been a bit disappointing.

I can well understand why TB is sticking to the 4-5-1 that has served us so well for much of the season, but if Brendan is going to be the "1" in this formation, then I think Ronaldo's comments will be the first of many because, so far in this role, he's proving to be a dismal flop. His first few games have been a huge disappointment and that's a fact. It doesn't mean he's a bad player or even that he wont go on to be a very good player for the Darts, but at the moment it isn't working and it would be patronising to Brendan to pretend otherwise.

Nothing would please me more than for me to be proved wrong about this as well, but at the moment, I have to say that I agree with Ronaldo, 100%. If Brendan would care to provide us with some humble pie eating opportunities starting on Saturday, I will bring an extra spoon and share it with Ronaldo.

Ryan Briggs on the other hand did absolutely nothing all game as he did on Tuesday night. I hate to say it but he really is starting to look like another Alan Tutton where he's got all the talk attempts to lift players and has a moan if they mess up or don't pass but can't actually do anything himself.

Answers on a postcard please to "The 5th Competition" c/o Ronaldo

You really should spend a bit more time getting a life Ronaldo, if you have to keep looking through old postings just to try and pick someone up on things. My comments on Briggs was based on 2 bad games he had played in a row and the way he's basically been playing for most of the season was the comment based on Alan Tutton.

As you can see in Tony's notes Brendon hasn't been brought in as an out & out goalscorer but to lay off balls for others to score as well as him, which imo he was doing on Saturday when laying the balls off to Davey, Ryan and Eddie it was just unfortunate that none of them managed to find the back of the net.

Spike if you're going to attempt to have a pop then at least name me in your comments as it's pretty obvious who it's aimed at.

Yes i did make a comment about Ryan Hayes but i did speak to him about it to his face and he did seem to change the way he was playing for a hell of a lot better afterwards. It was probably his way of trying to make me eat humble pie which i duly did and was happy to after his next few performances.

Yes i did make quite a few comments along with you and many many others about Tommy Sampson and that was basically because he was doing a hell of a lot more harm than good near the end of his time in charge and unless the change hadn't been made it was an absolute dead cert that we would be playing Kent League football now instead of pressing for promotion as there was absolutely no confidence from the players towards him. I've even spoken to certain players who some are still with the club and others that have left who all said they had no confidence in him anymore and didn't perticularly like playing for the club with him in charge. Thankfully he left and we managed to keep some of these players.

Nobody is getting high & mighty over other comments on here all i was saying is that considering Brendon has only just joined us and has only played basically 6 games with 1 of them as sub away to WF, he's scored 1 goal which was in his 1st full game against Barton, give him a bit of time to get used to being a lone forward and to the way Dartford play.

If come the end of the season and he's still only on 1 goal then fair enough comments could then start being made unless he's been setting the others up for their goals.

He's played for Chatham for quite a few years with the same team mates so knew exactly the way every one played and they knew him. Im sure that by the end of the season he would've scored a few more goals.
