Spike if you're going to attempt to have a pop then at least name me in your comments as it's pretty obvious who it's aimed at.

5th - It wasn't obvious to me, I had no idea until I read your reply. When I wrote my previous posting it was a general observation on this and many previous threads and  I can honestly say, hand on heart, that I couldn't even remember who had said what. A bit unfair I know, but if anything, the only person who sprang to mind was Duke, because great bloke though he is, we have pretty much come to accept that we hardly ever agree on anything and I kind of have this mental image of Duke in my head as a visual representation of all or any opinions that are contrary to my own. (I agreed with him once and he was so shocked he invited me to tea).

Anyway, going back to Ronaldo's posting, I think he was only expressing the view held by quite a few of us, that Brendan's game doesn't fit the role he has been given and we are becoming doubtful that it ever will. Maybe the phrase "contributes nothing" was a bit harsh, but Ronaldo also said that he wasn't convinced yet, which implies that even he hasn't given up on Brendan entirely and hopes he will still come good.

In truth, I don't really think most of us are that far apart in our views, only in the way in which they are demonstrated. Those who have leapt to Brendan's defence, have done so by referring to the goals he scored for Chatham and the fact that he needs more time in an unfamiliar role. In other words, even they are accepting of the fact that it's not working at the present moment but are hopeful that it will in the future ... which if I'm not mistaken is exactly what Ronaldo's "YET" means.

Anyway, there's so much good stuff happening at the moment that I don't want to get into a long debate about something negative. 5th I genuinely wasn't intending to "have a pop" at anyone so please don't take it personally. I will be there on Saturday as always, and would be absolutely delighted to see Brendan come good and put myself, Ronaldo and the other doubters firmly in our place. At the end of the day, we all want the same thing.

Ronaldo, whilst you may be very intelligent and know how to spell most of the long words and all of the short ones and can look back through other peoples postings think on this.

I too can spell not because I'm clever but because I edit my postings and check in a dictionary before typing, those who don't may well have more important things to say and are not so old or fussy as me.

In checking your postings (not for spelling mistakes) I notice that you more often than not just quote others and pick holes or put in one liners, with just the occasional one stretching beyond two paragraphs.

When you have made as many postings as others and in some length, then I will accept that you are in a position to criticise their grammar or spelling.

But at the end of the day what the hell does it matter, I know that we can all read and understand what people are trying to say, it's just that we don't always agree on the comments, so lets not get personal in the future.

Anyone who can read and understand that temporary one eyed poster who goes by the name of Sorry Getting Personal Duke

Trevor, I really don't think that the amount of postings made by one person should make them any more relevant or important than someone who has just made one. I don't usually look back through anyone's old postings because I don't really care enough about what other people have to say most of the time, but as I was being criticised for making comments about a player and also accused of being the only person to do that, I just thought I would see if the person criticising me had ever done the same thing and it didn't take me long to find what I was looking for. I don't usually like to get involved in personal attacks on anyone but in this case I was the one being attacked for making an honest comment. In my opinion, if anyone cannot accept the different opinions of others they should not read or post messages on forums.  I don't claim to be very intelligent but thanks for suggesting  that I might be  :o . Most of my postings are short because I usually accept the opinions of others even if I don't agree with them and I quite often make sarcastic, possibly humourous remarks or comments. If that upsets anyone then I'm sorry about that, but I won't stop doing it!

I've never read or seen 1 single funny posting ever made by yourself, sarcastic yes but then that doesn't really surprise me with you. As for your comments about peoples spelling your bang out of order on that one as you don't know of peoples circumstances, yes the spelling can be bad at times but not everyone can be as perfect as you seem to think you are.
Continue posting your thoughts about the gams though as nobody wants anyone stopped doing that (unless it starts getting abusive and out of hand of course.) We're all adults and can accept whats being posted.

By the way i think you should donate your black pot/kettle to the DFC auction as im sure you'll make quite a bit of money for the club.

Spike i accept your comments and agree that we're all talking about the same things but just in differant ways, if you get what i mean, and no i didn't take any offence from what you had posted.

This is the last of my comments on this subject as i can't be arsed to continue arguing about something thats basically going nowhere.
