what can you say,we lost and play off hopes are doomed.wingate were not better than us but if you dont score first and are low in confidence and have no belief you will struggle to get anything from the game.
dave martin was the best player on the pitch and if we have him cass and carter next season we could do some damage up front
i think only henry and martin start a game thinking they can win.
i think both goals came from long raking henry passes.the first a pass into space for martin to run onto and for the second he played a great ball to release someone down the left which led to the penalty.
as for the midfield ,i dont think they turned up.

A very long post but lost it some how, aren't you the lucky one's

Crap ground, crap food, but draught beer at last and no Bridge Games with me poised to bid a grand slam  so we lost and the lucky one's were those who were held up on the closed M25.

The 5th and I did A13/A406/A1000 and in under an hour were at the ground for 2.00p.m.

The attendance was just over 80 but I would think it nearer 100 as those late arrivals didn't have to pay.

Thanks to Spike, Skip, Ronaldo and Gary plus others for their entertaining comments second half which helped keep out the cold and deter us from leaving early to head home.

At least we don't have to harp on about top six now and will be satisfied with a mid table finish on current results at the end of the season, one we would have settled for at the start of the season.

trevor i dont think its a completely crap ground ,theres something about nice about it but i dont know what, i like it there maybe its the palm trees. they do have a fantastic pitch though.
if you want to see a real crap ground wait until you have to suffer ilford

I think the only players to come out of the game with any credit yesterday were Tom Olson, Brad Potter, Eddie McClements and without a doubt Davey Martin by far the best player on the pitch, also Glen Billeness when he came on for a short time.

As for the rest it was another bad day at the office. :(

i wasnt able to go yesterday so i have no opinions on the game , obviously disappointed with the result

i stated a while ago that i thought we were a good mid table side , even suggested that , on balance, there were 8 teams better than us - which got me shot down !!!

we had the rub of the green in early season games , getting results against  arlsey, enfield town and GWR [all away] when we were actually  outplayed but gutsed it out !!! but it levels itself out but despite that we have still had a good season and live to regroup for lift off at PP next season

being in the play offs for so long has been good fun but i think that not being promoted this season will turn out to be a good thing for the darts

the last few weeks has been a great learning curve for TB and the players who will be remain with us next season and will be better for it

Couldn't make the game yesterday so had to make do with the updates from TLD. Another loss means that we are indeed needing one hell of a run to make the play offs now, until its math......ly impossible then its down to the whole club and its fans to keep the faith and belief that we can still do it, somehow we all need to dig deep and beat Corby next week and avenge that really awful game at Kettering.

Are we down and out? Not yet!

It was another disappointing day but on the plus side, Dave Martin was awesome. This kid is something very special. I look forward to seeing him at Princes Park next season. I think I have decided on who my player of the season is.

Spike your right and if Davy Martin hasn't engraved his name on both the John Stevens and Grassbank trophies by now then I cannot think of any other serious candidates who will rob him of the double come the day of the votes.

Two more goals one a crafted lob which allowed for the wind and the other a well taken penalty, plus creating umpteen crosses and one absolute sitter of a chance for Brendan after a dazzling run past three defenders.

Not including the sitter of a cross for Eddie where Ed swung completely over the top of the ball and kicked fresh air.
