run up to the ilford game
« on: March 28, 2006, 10:39:11 AM »

garys obviously doing a bit of work this week [ makes me a happy tax payer !!]

very winnable game at ilford as the guys should be up for it after a good performance against corby

TB o k about level of vocal support but suggest we need to get together [ probably only i covered stand there ] and make some extra noise to show we are 100% behing TB and the team

we can still shake up a couple3 of the play off place teams so lets give it a real go

trevB, the 5th and me are calling in at PP on the way to ilford to gain some divine inspiration

duke its a terrible ground.a proper stand on one side and a shed type stand behind the dugouts on the other side.it will be very hard to create any atmos.
they are not a good team in my opinion.
the ground is part of a sports complex and has a bar with sky tv so if the chelsea boys want to watch the lunch time fixture its bound to be on

We (well, our 85 year old President) loved their bar, is nice and warm, and it gives an elevated view of the entire pitch. As for the running track - ggrrrrrrrr running track - you'll be pleased to know its not as bad as Harlow, as its only 6 lanes, and theres not acres of grass between the pitch and the end of the track, like Harlow.

I had the pleasure of going there twice in a weekend, as the youth team were playing a semi final there on the sat (won on penalties, some of the worst penalties i've ever seen though!) Seems a lucky ground for me, been there three times, won thrice. The first being a 3-0 Pennant Trophy win! Its a under 12s schools compitition!

One final note, keep an eye out for foxy the fox, their mascot. Apparantly, since he's been coming, they havnt won, you think he'd get the message! I think they're paying him with pies though, as you can see from the pic!

forest on my visit to that horrible ground i enjoyed your teams performance ,the fox and the tv at half time.the best of the day was a toss up between stuart houghtons performance and your shout to the ref of "referee your a w***** and thats the first time i.ve said that to a ref since ..... last week"

Thanks Tony. A lot of extra time being played today !!!!!

Just waiting for the other results to come up on the SOUTHERN LEAGUE results page now, with hopefully a few above us dropping points today.

Good solid performance today. Getting the first goal is always crucial, but when you strike it as sweetly as Dave Martin, from 30 yards out, you shouldn't worry. The second goal was as good a goal, in my opinion. A great ball from Ryan Hayes from the right wing, and Brendan with a firm header past the keeper.

The second half was more a performance to shut down Ilford, and stop us from conceding which we did. Dave Martin missed a penalty in the last minute but a good performance. High points for me were the goals, and the performances of Richard Avery and Brad Potter.

we deserved to win today and it should have been by more than 2-0 as davie missed a last minute penalty [ thats 2 out of 4 missed , time for brendan to take over as he scored 3 for chatham this season] and at least 3 other chances were wasted due to a poor final ball

good to see richard and anthony looking solid again [ good prep fpr bwood next week !!]

two really good goals today and i look forward to the time when we start to " crucify " teams like barking did to berko today , 7-0 , then we will really go places !!!!

not whinging , as it was a solid performance today , albeit against a lower team but they battled and still had to be beaten but it was great to see teddy ansell and brad potter adding some welcome bite to the midfield , i just hope that when eddie or haffy come back into the team its not at the expense of these two !!!!

enjoyed the result, the day out , the banter - keep it up !!!!!
