Great game today from all the lads and a fantastic game for all the neutrals that turned up.

Speaking to 2 Southend Utd supporters in the bar afterwards they said that looking at the standard of todays games isn't very far at all off of Southends standard now. 1 of them has never been to a non league game before and was only expeecting to see about 50 - 60 people there and was really surprised at both the attendance, atmosphere and standard of the game and especially the quality of some of the players.

A really well taken header from Richard Avery for the 1st goal, a great run and close down for Brendons 1st and our 2nd and then a well taken penalty by Brendon for our 3rd.

Some fantastic saves from Kevin to keep the scoreline against us down and a well earned MOTM by Cassy.

Attendance was our 3rd highest of the season of 369.

Congratulations to Pete Sampson on winning the No 1 Princes Park Season Ticket, it certainly makes the long trip down more worth while along with the Darts picking up 4pts of course.

Well Done Darts, now for another 3pts against Enfield to keep the pressure on Wivenhoe to stay within those play off hopes.

One word. Believe.

We have to believe in ourselves - we've got what it takes to win our last 3 games, and to make the other teams have to do their jobs. Good performances especially from Brendan, Briggsy and Kevin, but not limited to those. We need to believe!

What a great result.

An entertaining match, 2 goals from BC & I took great pleasure from listening to Chatham fans who seemed to think that BC only came to us for the money. If that was the case then Dover would have got him weeks ago. Well done Brendan.

Helen & Katie enjoyed themselves & Helen said it was an entertaining match, which means it must have been considering how much she doesn't like football. Katie won the raffle, I got her into a DFC T-shirt, we get 3 goals, our play-off chances are still looking good & when we got home we won £30 on the lottery - Happy days!

Good luck to everyone on Monday. You can do it, the players know it, the management knows it & so do the fans, so go out there & kick bottom!

As for the game, well done to Briggsy, that was the best corner I've seen hit from him & a great finish from Avery! Dave Martin, nice work on winding up their #3! & it was good to see Teddy & Ryan Hayes getting stuck in - all in all a terrific performance. See you Saturday.

An amazing day out with initially the handing over of the auction cheque by Kebabus for £1500 then the draw for the 1st season ticket and yes it had to be the one and only Pete Samson, standing next to Tony Burman as he made the draw with his second visit to see us play this season,(Jeremy could you organise Fast Track from Tranmere to Princes Park please ?) and not forgetting the chance to vote for player of the season.

A first class performance from all of the players which for once saw us take several of the chances that we created and thanks to Kevin we only conceded one goal.

End to end stuff from both teams and a credit to all of the players for a very entertaining game and to the Chatham supporters who travelled for helping to generate a good sporting atmosphere for this local derby.

A well taken header by Richard Avery from Briggsy's corner saw us score the first goal and then after a lot of pressure from Chatham to get an equalizer and super saves from Kevin we saw Cassie at his best, with a commited 50-50 chase against the keeper to get the through ball, the toe end touch past him and a side foot into the net.

2-0 at half time and it could so easily have been 2-2, so nothing was safe without that third goal and it came with yet another of Davy Martins runs into the box, a defender seemed slow to withdraw his foot out of the way rather than commiting a tackle, but it was enough to trip Davy in full flight and earn the penalty.

Several of us had said before why not let Bredan take the penalties instead of Davy after a couple of missed one's, so it was with some trepidation that our wish was granted, but we should have had no fear as Brendan calmly stroked the ball along the ground into the far corner of the net.

Chatham to their credit never gave up and it took several brilliant saves from Kevin to keep them at bay and the crowd in full vocal support with Super Super Kev Super Kevin Hudson.

A late well taken consolation goal from a corner similar to our first was all the luck Chatham had on the goal front, but at the other end as Chatham pushed up they really road their luck as we saw several attempts from our forwards just go wide, take deflections or get blocked and one incredible save from their keeper at point black range from Davy Martin which cannoned of his body and away for a corner.

At the end of the day the Radio Kent interviews from both managers summed up the game with Tony saying that we knew we had to win and went out and took our chances and that luck went with us for a change after recent results the other way round and from the Chatham view Dartford took their chances and we didn't but a great display of football from both teams and Chatham gave their all and he was not disappointed with the performance just the result.

Well done Darts and on to Enfield on Monday with a good travelling support no doubt, but no where near the attendance their local derby enjoyed with 808, well done Enfield fans and hopefully you will be rewarded and re-united a.s.a.p. hopefully with a new ground, keep the faith miracles do happen, ask any Darts fan.

Votes for The Grassbank Trophy on Monday with Mickie Austin means we must be close to the end of the season and just time for one of the Darts players to do something special away from home just as long as we win. :-)

Good to see Pete Samson again on Saturday and well done for winning the season ticket and a safe journey home, also well done to Steve,(Custard) Helen and especially Katie who purchased a winning ticket in the raffle and won one of the 3 easter bunnies complete with eggs, plus that pick up by Steve on the lottery. (About time your family had a bit of luck this year)

What a cracking game of football that was. True we were a bit fortunate in the first half, but the fact that they squandered a few chances is not our fault and even when they did hit the target, Kevin Hudson was absolutely brilliant and kept them out anyway. For my money, Kevin was man of the match by a country mile but, having said that, this was undoubtedly Brendan Cass' best game since he joined us and I was delighted to see him get a couple of goals. I have to admit, for 30 minutes I didn't thnk he was having much impact on the game, but then he really imposed himself with a really good hard worked goal that showed strength, determination and skill. After that, I thought he was a different player. 2nd half, Brendan was much busier and proved what a good player he can be. He really imposed himself on the game and gave his old club a hard time. I was really pleased to see him wanting to take the penalty and he executed it with precision and power. I truly hope that this gives him confidence and he goes on to great things with the Darts. Well done Brendan and the rest of the team. Very enjoyable.

Listening to other fans comments, it looks like the player of the season was a two horse race between Dave Martin and Kevin Hudson. Its great that we are spoiled for choice this year. I think we have about 7 or 8 players who have all performed better than several previous winners in recent years! I agree with the majority that Dave and Kevin are numbers 1 and 2 ... I think Dave Martin has probably got it, but it would be nice to know for certain so that I can vote for Kevin in the Grassbank trophy on Monday.

Whatever happens on Monday, I would like to thank Tony and the team for giving us a great and entertaining season. Before it started, my realistic wish was that we could have a year where we had something to play for right down to the end of the season. With 3 games to go we are in with a great chance and the chase for a play-off spot looks like going down to the final game. It's been a great season and I haven't missed a single game (apart from 2 friendlies). Whatever happens, I can't wait for next year.

ps. Nice to meet Pete Samson.

We're back in it !!! It was a great team performance yesterday - in fact for all the games I've managed to get down for this season I have been impressed by the progress being made by TB and the management team on the field. Off the field, top marks to Steve Irving etc for the way we were accomodated prior to kick off handing over the cheque, and congrats to Pete for winning the season ticket - I heard a few shouts of "fix" after the draw, I'd like to quash these rumours by publishing Petes feedback he wrote to me after receiving his ticket:

Can't wait for the draw next week, Somebody has got to win! Up the Darts
Mmmmmmm

We tuned in to Radio "Are you sure Dartford are in" Kent on the way home and I forgot how biased they are against the club ! One minute they said we were fortunate to have beaten Chatham then ten minutes later they were raving (or should that be Raven) about us ! For me Kevin Hudson was undoubtably the man of the match - he had a fantastic game and pulled off three top quality saves in the first half that kept us in front first half. Second half I think we were right on top and were unlucky not to have bagged a few more goals. Top marks also to  Ryan Briggs who worked his socks off in the middle of the park and sprayed some quality "Lampardesque" passes to the front men on a number of occassions. Great stuff, nice to catch up with some of you guys again and also nice to finally meet The Bishop of Tranmere. Good Darts !!

just got back from yorkshire and catching up on posts !!!

agree with everything thats been said and well done to ALL of the team

two moments for me

#  in the 2nd half , not 10 yards away from me , davie martin had his back to and was  surrounded by 4 chatham players, one flick and he left all 4 for dead , thats class and thats why he is player of the season

#  kevin hudson pulled off 3 magnificient saves and has been doing it all season and thats why he must be  grassbank player of the season  !!!

its a game of opinions but anyone who disagrees with this is nuts  !!!!!

You made it Duke !! We had the Merseyside Branch and Norfolk Branch of the DFC WEB Supporters association in attendance yesterday but talk about dedication, Duke was telling me he had left his missus up in Yorkshire and driven down especially for the game only to drive back up North immediately after the whistle !! It was worth it though wasn't it !! Oh, nobody's mentioned the referee playing up to the crowd have they ?? He refereed the game pretty well although I felt he could have dished out a few bookings but 10 out of ten for the banter with the Darts fans eh ?? It certainly lightened the mood - just hope he wasn't being assessed cos I can't see that would have gone down too well !!!

Where were all the Chatham fans? It does make me smile that even when we play a team in Kent there never seems to be a large 'away' following? The two Enfields played in front of over 800 !

greg, sorry to hear you cant make it , have you cast your grassbanks vote  ??  , if not , i'll do it for you [ by proxy and even pay the two quid !!!! ]

i also thought the ref [ mr crouch]  was very good yesterday and great to see a referee who is in the real world , i thought his visual reference to gary [ the ref from strood] was brilliant !!!!
