An amazing day out with initially the handing over of the auction cheque by Kebabus for £1500 then the draw for the 1st season ticket and yes it had to be the one and only Pete Samson, standing next to Tony Burman as he made the draw with his second visit to see us play this season,(Jeremy could you organise Fast Track from Tranmere to Princes Park please ?) and not forgetting the chance to vote for player of the season.
A first class performance from all of the players which for once saw us take several of the chances that we created and thanks to Kevin we only conceded one goal.
End to end stuff from both teams and a credit to all of the players for a very entertaining game and to the Chatham supporters who travelled for helping to generate a good sporting atmosphere for this local derby.
A well taken header by Richard Avery from Briggsy's corner saw us score the first goal and then after a lot of pressure from Chatham to get an equalizer and super saves from Kevin we saw Cassie at his best, with a commited 50-50 chase against the keeper to get the through ball, the toe end touch past him and a side foot into the net.
2-0 at half time and it could so easily have been 2-2, so nothing was safe without that third goal and it came with yet another of Davy Martins runs into the box, a defender seemed slow to withdraw his foot out of the way rather than commiting a tackle, but it was enough to trip Davy in full flight and earn the penalty.
Several of us had said before why not let Bredan take the penalties instead of Davy after a couple of missed one's, so it was with some trepidation that our wish was granted, but we should have had no fear as Brendan calmly stroked the ball along the ground into the far corner of the net.
Chatham to their credit never gave up and it took several brilliant saves from Kevin to keep them at bay and the crowd in full vocal support with Super Super Kev Super Kevin Hudson.
A late well taken consolation goal from a corner similar to our first was all the luck Chatham had on the goal front, but at the other end as Chatham pushed up they really road their luck as we saw several attempts from our forwards just go wide, take deflections or get blocked and one incredible save from their keeper at point black range from Davy Martin which cannoned of his body and away for a corner.
At the end of the day the Radio Kent interviews from both managers summed up the game with Tony saying that we knew we had to win and went out and took our chances and that luck went with us for a change after recent results the other way round and from the Chatham view Dartford took their chances and we didn't but a great display of football from both teams and Chatham gave their all and he was not disappointed with the performance just the result.
Well done Darts and on to Enfield on Monday with a good travelling support no doubt, but no where near the attendance their local derby enjoyed with 808, well done Enfield fans and hopefully you will be rewarded and re-united a.s.a.p. hopefully with a new ground, keep the faith miracles do happen, ask any Darts fan.
Votes for The Grassbank Trophy on Monday with Mickie Austin means we must be close to the end of the season and just time for one of the Darts players to do something special away from home just as long as we win.

Good to see Pete Samson again on Saturday and well done for winning the season ticket and a safe journey home, also well done to Steve,(Custard) Helen and especially Katie who purchased a winning ticket in the raffle and won one of the 3 easter bunnies complete with eggs, plus that pick up by Steve on the lottery. (About time your family had a bit of luck this year)
