Well this time next week we will certainly know the final play off positions, and you're quite right Gary, it's not over yet.

So the season has come down right to the wire, but as has recently been the case, we still need Wivenhoe to slip up. But well done o the lads for remaining in contention to the end. It's all on a knife edge and at this stage, we do have goal difference in our favour if things go our way.

So yes Gary, I believe !!!!!

The club are looking to try and run a double decker coach for next weeks game as we seem to be taking a bit of extra away support with us next week.

Come on lads & lasses instead of making the journey by car or train next week take the team coach and make it a fantastic atmosphere.

Depending on how much interest the club gets the cost could possibly be approx £10, some come on make a day of it and not just follow BUT travel with The Darts.

Luck was not with us this afternoon as our late chances almost gave us victory, but it was not to be.  However, next weekend could be different again.  Waltham Forest play Corby, who remain in with a chance of being champions as Boreham Wood could only draw again this afternoon.  I expect Corby to win this match.  The Wivenhoe match is the difficult one as Enfield have little to play for.  But do Wivenhoe go to defend, or play their usual game.  At least we know that we have to win.  One goal will be sufficient and with a little bit of luck, the other results may well go our way.  It would be a lovely way to finish the league program and a play-off match against Enfield Town should see a four figure crowd.

Keep them smiling Tony and tell them to enjoy the match next weekend.

Come on you DARTS!

this sounds like i am stating the bleedin obvious but of the three games we have the "easiest" game.corby are corby and i enfield are a tough physical team who want to win.all we can do is win the game and see what happens elsewhere.

Apologies for late posting (Gary locked the Harlow topic just as I went to post) but have combined it with my comments for this weeks game and like The Duke I have just returned from the weekend away at Warners Lowestoft, but we were pleased to travel the round trip of 260 miles and risk suffering the rath of our wives when we were late back and missed the dinner, but we did get back in time to see the cabaret The Swinging Blue Jeans. (It was a 60's music weekend for you younger lads and they were a band from that era)

At least Pete Samson will know what we are talking about.

As for the game, one not to be missed as the lads all gave 100% and but for Davie's late shot hitting the inside of the post and rolling past Ryan's out stretched boot along the line and into the keepers hands we would have won, but a draw still keeps us in with a chance despite dropping a place to 8th.

I hope that there was a noticeable difference in the volume of support second half especially as a good number of the choir chose to stand behind the goal and urge the players on.

Behind the goal meant not only did we see Teddy's brilliant goal rocket into the net, but that we also saw the agonies of Davy Martin's effort and just how close we were to the win, plus I'm sure it spurred on the players.

Although Dave and I were away from the ground about 17-45p.m. I understand that Tony plus several players commented on the volume of the singing second half so well done to everybody.

Now we need to take this volume of support away to Barton and whether we choose to stand behind the goal(no stands from memory) or down the sides in a very small grandstand or lean-to-stand I hope every able bodied Darts fan makes the effort and travels because we need to win this one and offer up a small prayer for results to go our way regarding Waltham Forest and Wivenhoe.

GOOD LUCK LADS

Does anyone need a lift to the Barton game? i'm keen to go & have a spare seat in the flying Citroen.

Alternatively, where do I catch this bus from if it's running?

Also, how the hell do I get to Barton Rover's ground?

Just a quick note after a text from TB.

Brad's broken his finger which obviously isn't good, but is significantly less bad than a broken wrist/arm which was what it looked like.

Tony wont be doing any notes today, but will be around to answer a few questions at the AGM tonight.

Very interested in travelling with my family on double-decker bus.
Does anyone have any details i.e departure time and place, availability of seats and who to book through.
Will it be the same price for children as adults?

I will try to find out any info regarding the coach costs & departure times and places tonight and will post later on after the AGM meeting as well as who to contact regarding booking seats.

You may need to be quick as i've got a feeling the places will be going very quickly.

As long as the places dont go by the end of tonight, we should be okay. Myself and Scratchcard Stewart might be coaching it :)

If there's that much interest then the club could well have to arrange 2 coaches. :-o :-)

Bring back the good old days.

I've been advised that there are about 50 seats approx available on the double decker coach for Barton on Saturday so spaces shouldn't be a problem.

Cost for adults £10 / U16's £5

Coach leaves Overy St at 11-45am and Watling St at 12-00 noon.

I've been told theres no need to book just turn up on time on the day and you should get a seat.
