And where is Barton, Custard was asking.

The answer can be found on the official website under the Away Clubs button.

In fact it is actually Barton Le Clay, in Bedfordshire, just off M1 junction 12 between Luton and Bedford.

And blimey Ronaldo, it's only three squares away from Milton Keyne Dons, where Tranmere are fighting their own relegation battle against the the Dons on Saturday!

CUSTARD,

Steve, just back from two days at head office, but I broached the subject of the Barton trip with D.J. John at the A.G.M. on Monday and asked him to let you know that The Duke & myself will be going and if you want a lift you will be more than welcome to come with us.

No costs involved just the pleasure of your company if you decide to take up the offer, let us know if you are interested and put a note on the site so I can advise you of time etc.

P.S. Having just worked out how to send an e-mail on this new site I have sent one to you with my phone number should you want details.

I have to be honest, a lift with you & the Duke seems infinately more desireble than me driving up on my own. If I'm gonna get lost I'd rather do so as a group.

I'm not sure how to send private e-mails yet, so here is my mobile No. 07939 530894

Please let me know where & when I need to be on Saturday

Thanks for the very kind offer.

I am really looking forward to saturday. 1st away match of the season for me.

And I'm also seriously looking at coming down for this match as well. Anybody wanting a lift down from Prenton??

This watching the Darts is becoming habit forming. Custard, it will also be my first away match of the season !!

Jose - you are talking like the Special One !!!!! I dont know what their recent form is like but looking at the league table and although Barton look like they are miles away from us they actually only have 11 points less and have won two games fewer, I hope you are right Jose - I believe  :-D :-D

Barton P       W     D       L        F     A          Pts
total     16     3     4     9     16 - 29     13

Dartford
total     16     3     6     7     24 - 27     15

So we've got the better record over the last 16, but not exactly a shining record.

But looking at the home/away records:

Barton:
matches     won     draw     lost     goals     points
home    8    1       3         4      7 - 12          6

Dartford:
away     8     2     3     3     15 - 16     9

There's been a minor set-back in the quest for the play-offs; I inadvertently put my polo shirt through the wash with my jeans, meaning a lovely blue and white polo shirt... hopefully this can be rectified in time for Saturday, but it's unlikely :(

CONGRATULATIONS TO MIDDLESBROUGH

0-2 DOWN. 4 GOALS NEEDED - AND THEY DID IT IN STYLE!

What's this to do with the Darts ?   Everything.

Any doubters about our chances of making it all the way only need to look at the example of Boro !!

I BELIEVE THAT EVERY GOAL THE DARTS WILL SCORE
WILL SEE US THROUGH
I BELIEVE THAT EVERY TIME WE GIVE THE 'DARTFORD' ROAR
WILL HELP US THROUGH
I BELIEVE IN TONY'S BURMAN MIGHTY DARTS,
OH YES I DO, YES I DO
OH, I BELIEVE, LET'S ALL BELIEVE

To the Batchelors (and others) song. (TrevorB, you'll have to teach the youngsters that one, but I'm sure they know the tune really !!)

pete - trevB singing to the BATCHELORS  - YOU GOTTA BE JOKING ???

he was a hard nosed rocker , who had a leather jacket , a motor bike and played hot drums in a rock n roll band and would have had nothing to do with those poofters who wandered around with parkers and lambrettas [ aka malcolm E ] and listened to the Batchelors and cliff richard

suggest you retune to GENE VINCENT, EDDIE COCHRAN OR EVEN EARLY ELVIS BUT TO THE BATCHELORS {  ?? }
