See you next season! I think both of us are better than Corby, Enfield Town and Barking, but inconsistancy has cost us both greatly.

Corby declared over 1300 today, although there looked to be 800 tops. Hopefully we end up in the same league next season, as our games are always great ones, and we need someone to play next season! It looks as if it'll be a rather weak league next season, with those coming down and up rather poor financially. I fancy Enfield for the playoffs, which'll leave us next season with Barking, Forest, Dartford and possibly Wivenhoe as title contenders. With any luck, Stamford and Rothwell'll get relocated as theyre miles away!

Interesting fact i found out today: There are more scots than english in corby!

Good performance to finish the season.  Luck was not with us elsewhere, but never mind.  Perhaps the only note of caution, in a match in which we were physically battered by the opponents, we ended up with more yellow cards.  It must be very difficult for the players to be constantly fouled and receive no protection from the officials, but they must let their football do the talking.  Us loudmouths can tell the ref if he is having a bad game.

Thanks to all those involved at Dartford FC for a great season.  Good luck and congratulations to Wivenhoe.

Come on you DARTS!

Well, as disappointed as we all are over the results elsewhere today, I have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed the performances I have seen the lads put in in the games against Borehamwood, Chatham and today at Barton. I really can't fault their efforts and really, it was because of their efforts that I decided to travel down from Prenton (380 miles return journey) today and support them, cheer them on, and be involved, and to add my thanks to the team, TB, Robbo, Paul, and in fact everybody involved with the club for giving us our best ever finish since reformation. I have just loved the atmosphere buzzing around the club as we prepare for our homecoming.

I could have travelled down to nearby MK Dons to watch Tranmere try and secure their safety in Division 1 (which I wouldn't have done anyway because recent performances wouldn't have justified it and I don't normally go to their away matches because of the cost.) In another reported lack lustre performance by alll accounts, Rovers did maintain their status winning 2-1 with all three goals coming in the last 5 minutes.

If I can travel that distance, then I'm hoping a lot more Dartfordians themselves will be returning to the fold on our return to Princes Park next season. I have seen three very entertaining games from the Darts and the way they have been playing in recent games will surely entice supporters back to the club - and keep them!! I'm sure the players, having experienced the disappointment today, will now be working very hard next season to make sure we don't suffer the same experience next season. The lads deserve to be playing in front of bigger crowds with those performances- and next season, they will. Today, they did all that could be asked of them - they won the match in entertaining style with another team performance.

Congratulations also to Kevin Hudson on receiving his Grassbank award today in the Barton clubhouse.

Finally, I'd like to say a great big thank you to all you posters, friends, old and new, supporters, players and club officials who have made me feel so welcomed at the recent matches. Even Tony Henry knows I had won the first season ticket at Princes Park!

Well played Darts. Take a well deserved break. Keep yourselves fit during the close season, and come back next season raring to go, and pick up where we have left off today.

really enjoyed the game and the occasion at barton rovers and the team did really well to win with a mature performance and they showed their metal by standing up to a physical barton side - augers well for the future !!!!

whilst the lads can be proud of their season achievements i [ along with many others] was absolutely delighted that kevin hudson got the grassbank trohpy ,  not only has the guy not missed agame this season but he has been outstanding and always acknowledges the fans

WELL DONE KEV  !!!!

of course we are disappointed that we are not in the play offs but certainly not disappointed at the teams performance and 7th place and aveley last season seems millions of miles away which shows what man management and motivation is all about . thanks to TB skip and robbo and the players response

I don't mean to be offensive or funny here Forest but i hope we don't see you next season as i along with others really hope that we'll be moved across into the Ryman league next season where we'll get a lot more local derbies and bigger crowds.

Thoroughly enjoyed the day. The atmosphere before, during & after the game was brilliant & I shall try to make more away games next season. Also great to listen to TB's thoughts in the bar afterwards

Am I too disappointed, maybe not. I am a great beleiver that football has a way of evening itself out. You could look at any of the games that we drew or lost by the single goal, point at it & say "that's where it all went Pete Tong" but there were games where we nicked points that maybe we didn't deserve to, so 7th is a fair reflection of the squad we have currently, but what a springboard foe next season.

The players I'm sure will learn from this, remember how much it hurt to miss by one point & will I'm sure come back next season better prepared mentally.

Hope Tony liked the scotch (curtisy of Barton's raffle). I thought of giving it to JC for b*******g up his season by sponsoring his socks, I then thought of sharing it around the fans if results had gone differently, but in the end realised that TB probably deserved it more & probably needed it more than anyone.

Also thanks to Duke & TrevorB for the lift & the company - most grateful.

Well done to all the guys, it's been a great season - NEXT SEASON IS GOING TO BE BETTER!

A good day out with around 130 fans travelling to the game and just a hint of the old days with the double decker coach in the car park and the sight of those who had travelled on it enjoying a fish and chip supper after the game, sitting outside the Barton clubhouse, players, management and fans mixing together.

The support of the fans was brilliant with most gathering together in a stand singing non stop throughout, with lots of new renditions as well as the standards.

The players did their bit in winning today but alass Wivenhoe held out for a draw and nicked the 6th spot by a point.

The game played on th usual crap pitch at Barton (dry this time at least) meant that passes were bound to go astray and the football would not be as good as might have been, but we adapted well and had little trouble from Barton who's long ball punts in the air meant Kevin, Richard and Anthony were able to defend without too much pressure.

The referee was poor and offered little in the way of protection as the Barton players pushed, shoved and kicked our players for most of the game, especially Davy Martin and we picked up two yellow cards for verbal/kicking the ball away actions before the ref booked a Barton player late on.

From a free kick just over the half way line in the first half the ball dropped on the edge of the box and there was Anthony Henry to meet it with a looping header which caught the keeper off of his line and it went into the top corner of the net, not sure if it was intended but a goal is a goal.

Second half saw Cassie get another goal with a well timed run into the box and a header from low down to put the game safe.

Congratulations to Kevin Hudson for picking up the Grassbank Trophy thoroughly deserved, a reward for the significant number of spectacular saves he made throughout the season and for not missing a game.

Thanks to the players and directors, especially T.B. for providing us with such an exciting end to the season and just think what we can look forward to next  time around at Princes Park

Finally thanks to all the fans especially the posters on this site who travel home and away each week and help keep me entertained off the pitch, remember to keep in touch through the summer via this medium, because we still have plenty to talk about with the World Cup etc and before you know it we will be having the friendlies and the opening of P.P.

Special thanks to my fellow passengers each week The Duke and The 5th, the conversations and their aid in directing me to grounds and just the odd pint.

'nicking' a play off place seems to be the wrong term to use, with our injured players back and hopefully some fresh faces to shake things up, a play off place should be the minimum goal, come on everybody lets not settle for a hopeful play off place, make it a priority!

having been grouped with the " negative ones " who were not desperate for promotion this season , i am eagerly awaiting next season when TB has a team with 12 months more experience under their belts and the expected extra cash for players budget now that we are saving the £22k from stonebridge road

i.m with kebabus that with an additional 3 extra class players for next season [ please include a dave parsons look alike !!] we should be aiming for auto promotion and then believing that we will saty up and begin our quest for conference in 10 years

bet  TB  will appreciate the pressure

Dear Duke,

Whence exactly comes the £22,000 that the Club will be saving next season in order for it to be used to increase the wage bill?
