We need to show Hastings what we are capable of and put on a good show for the fans, revenge would be nice.

Good luck everyone and lets hope for a good crowd.

hastings will defend deep again because lets face it what else can they do.if we score early the floodgates will open.if we dont score early we will have to be cleverer than last week and draw them out otherwise they will pick us off on the break.
for what its worth i sense a big win and plenty of noise from dukes rattle

I missed the match last week and therefore do not know what to expect from Hastings.  However, I hope for direct running from the Darts.  How many defenders can cope with a fast attacker running directly at them?  Hopefully, the ref will give the pace merchants the protection that they need, thus giving the defence a serious problem.  Do they foul and accept the card, or attempt the tackle and get beaten by pace?  Oh happy days.

Come on you DARTS!

Dont like to say but..............Shocking !

Yes we were, not bothering to calm down this time!

First of all for those that didn't bother to turn up, we need your support NOW not when a new stadium opens!

Secondly Hastings did little different from last week, same shi@ different day! They must of thought christmas has come early! They set their stool out again and played as a tight unit, they have strength and soaked up the predictable threat with ease and then eventually put the ball in the net twice! Fair play to them but to be honest i don't give a flying fu@~ about anyone else, so;

Thirdly, we were devoid of any lesson learned from last week, i was standing there like everyone else (having parted with our hard earned cash!) wondering why we couldn't try anything different, Davie was pretty much marked out of the game, their no. 5 was winning EVERYTHING wether it was left right middle and we too often floated the ball into this guy who was easily the man of the match. I would recommend we sign him!!
We all shouted at the scapegoat in black but at the end of the day we created only 1 guilt edged chance and the mouthy keeper saved it well.

Oh and all that potential prize money......................

Had enough need to calm down, dinner will taste shocking tonight and the cat best keep clear tonight, feel like us poor sod fans need a boost because it was not good enough out there today and i hate moaning, period.

I was disgusted.  Thought we played okay early on, first 20 minutes maybe, but then forgot all the lessons we learnt last week.

Last week there number 5 won everything above waist height, so this week, why are we just pumping balls up towards him?  It actually looked like we were aiming for him.  With a big centre back like him, surely we should be playing to our strengths and getting the ball out wide, then whipping them in low and hard?

Last week, we only started creating chances when Ryan came on and we used him.  This week first 20 minutes that's what we was doing, then we stopped going out to him and played long ball football instead.

So basically the way I saw today was that we had learnt from last week, but for some reason after 20 minutes thought f*%k it, we're not winning let's forget what we've learnt and go back to letting them come at us and then hoof it back to 'em.  Was I mistaken and we hadn't learnt at all?  Did Tony not tell the players what to do enough?  Did they forget it?  Did they just choose to ignore it?  Was they frustrated at the ref?

As you can tell I'm frustrated!  For the Hastings fans who are reading and who will no doubt go back to their forum like they did last week saying how we all thought we were shocking and it wasn't because you played well.  Well, you did play well, well done, you deserved the points last week and you deserve to be through to the next round of the cup.  You didn't let us play how we like to so well done, but this is our forum and I must ask questions about how we played over these past 2 games, because we don't normally play that bad!

Other easy tactical things that frustrated me about today were:

Why when we are losing a game(especially a cup game, nothing to lose and all that) with 10 minutes to go and we win a corner do we have 3 players on the half way line?

Why don't we make tactical substitutions?  Again with 20 minutes to go in a cup game, we're 1-0 and we make a substitution, but it's not tactical, it's just like for like(Haffy for Ryan).  Like wasn't working!  We needed to try something else.  Surely that was the time to take off a defender for an attacking player?

Why when their #5 is moppiong up everything, do we aim for him?  And double why haven't we got a player to stand just infront of him, blocking his run ups that he needs to get the height needed to head it it clear?

Footballs a funny game, we have a great team, we play great football, we have a great manager, we've been winning, our confidence is high and yet still we have frustrating times like today!  I guess we have a young side and we are still a naive at times, but we're learning, I hope!

I hate it when I sound like a whinging Dover fan too!

Oh well, see you Tuesday night!
