All minus 1 thank you, I was hoping he'd cut inside and unleash 1!

All minus two, I don't think Ryan was shouting at himself to pass it ! :-D

Bumper crowd on the 22nd Aveley should be well supported being so close.

I'm clearly in the minority here, but whilst I accept we won comfortably in the end, I didn't think it was a particularly good performance. That said, it's always a good sign when you win 4-1 after not playing ever so well, so I'm not complaining too much!!!

To me, it all seemed a little bit flat yesterday. Ilford didn't offer much and whilst Jay took his chances well, the defending wasn't too hot. Again, credit to Jay whose presence and agression earned him his goals. I'm sticking by Cassie, but again yesterday I felt he didn't do enough to get into the game. Perhaps it's just the way he plays, or perhaps his lack of confidence, but he doesn't show his predatory instincts or sharpness around the box, seeming to be a bit slow off the mark and not anticipating chances.

Whilst Richard Avery and Dave Martin just seem to get better with every match, our MOTM for me was Ryan Briggs who worked really hard in midfield.

Fortunately Duke, I was on holiday and missed them both - good timing, or what?!

Seriously though, I didn't say I wasn't happy - just that I didn't think it was that good a performance. I was happy though that we won comfortably even though we didn't play that well against a poor side. Not really a complaint, in fact I'd be ecstatic if we got results like that in all our not so good performances!! Just think what the result would have been if we'd played well for the whole game.

I was happy we won the game BUT disappointed with the way we squandered many chances after taking control of the game. You can not afford to do that you must be in the habit of taking advantage of all your chances no matter what the score is.

The polite applause after a missed sitter when you are 4-1 up turns into a moan and a groan and a 5 day inquest into misfiring strikers and their contribution to the team after a missed sitter against a bottom of the league side 2-0 down.

I was very happy that the aimless long balls seem to have reduced and there was a lot more played about on the deck. The surface is much better at Thurrock after recent weather and we should keep on taking advantage of that. Briggs for me is one of the players that have had a positive reaction to the recent squad additions. He gets my MOTM and I applaud the whole team for defending from the front, getting the foot in and not giving ILFORD* time on the ball. Some posters have said ILFORD* were not a good side, and that MAY be the case but they didn't have the chance to get any flow going due to our players' workrate and tenacity.

A job well done but still some points to work on.

*Edited thanks to Kebabus rightly pointing out that I'm out of my brain on the 5:15. By the way thanks for reading my post in such detail to notice this. I'll have to watch my spelling if I post again!

I thought that Ilford were poor, Tilbury usually are and have been a bit of a bogey side to us!

the real big difference this season to last is that [ except for hastings games] we look full of goals but i agree our conversion rate is still not clinical enough and we really need to crucify a few teams to really get the taste !!!!

the extra bite in midfield [ watts and/or hogg] will aloow eddie mac and briggs [ possibly haffy] plus the 3 strikers to go for goals and we should soon see the results

great comment about " polite applause versus a moan " about missing a sitter and thats one area that the darts faithful could improve upon as at the end of the day both the team and the fans should p...s in the same bucket !!!!!

Good result on the weekend against Ilford.  I thought they looked poor defensively and apart from two cracking saves from Hudson we were comfortable.  Our midfield and defence worked well together and the link up play and effort to the forwards were good as well.  Apart from a small period early in the second half I felt we would win.  Hopefully, we will go on a good run this year!!
Unfortunately can't get to many games as I live in Southampton, but I'll try and make the Fleet game (away) on 02/12/2006, anyone know how far the station is from the ground?  Oh of course I'm looking forward to the first game at PP, definitely won't miss that.
