Re: Bar Dilemma

Why not have a marquis (or is it markee or marquee?)

Why not have a big tent with patio heaters or even better those jet engine type heaters they use on building sites. I'm sure they could use some of the space to put this up.

This opportunity to make money through beverage sales should not be missed. Why limit it to the few that can cram into the bar? Worried about over indulgence? Have a voucher system so you can only buy a beer with a voucher. Or rely on common sense and self control.

By the way, will money made on the day go to the council or the football club? Or is it a need to know basis which I'd be entirely happy with but I need to know if it is a 'need to know' basis.

Will there be motor cycle parking available?

I regularly bring my 3 year old to games, and at under 5 I don't need to pay for him.

If all tickets are sold for the ground, will he be refused entry due to exceeding numbers (along with my nephew)?  Should I buy him a ticket just in case?  What with inflatable penguins, food and drink etc., he'll be spending my money quite fast on that day anyway!

However bringing him along is working though ... he got a white smartie, ran over to show me and said "Daddy, it's the same colour as our football team!  I was so chuffed! (I'm assuming he's not a Leeds fan!)  /smug

Also to free up one place in the bar, I'm a season ticket holder and won't be going to the bar on the opening day.  Too many family, so I'll leave it to the following match!

Don't think we should be restricting the bar to certain individuals who have the right ticket or we will be in danger if alienating the new supporters we are trying to attract.
Lets just put a bar all the way round the edge of the pitch and let the game be played in the bar instead. That would solve it !

Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?

The bar is quite big, plenty of room for most, but if the club/council have any concerns the get the beer tent in!

You'll have a job collecting royalties as Phil Lynott, Keithlard - he drank/drugged himself to death years ago!

SURELY COMMERCIALLY WE WANT EVERY FAN WHO WANTS TO BUY A DRINK TO BE ABLE TO HAVE ONE

just imagine if 1000 fans cant buy a drink at say £2.50 each thats £2500 [ impressed !!] and if they were to drink 2 [£5000] or even 3  {£7500 }

can we afford to lose this revenue  ????

Duke, I would be hoping that J and Tom would have already prepared a list of regulars such as yourself and 5th as fundraisers and TrevB, either through the earlier list of interested personnel registering with the council website or writing to the planning committee in support of the original planning application.

Jeremy has previously commented on the fact that the regulars would not have to worry, so I hope it is just a matter of waiting for the postie to deliver. I've had nothing yet, although it is still early days.

Anyway Duke, if I am travelling 500 miles plus for this event, I want to be able to have my customary pre and post match drinks with my fellow posters. I'm already up buying Graham a belated wedding celebratory pint and one for Custard as well, so I hope the bar doesn't run dry!
