Has anyone heard anymore on this. I was told a little story that I need to substantiate first - but it didn't sound too fair.

Nothing decided as yet, but please tell the little story!

Stand easy. If thats the case I will ignore what I heard.

I've asked Tom and everyone on the project to work on a solution that will put long-standing fans first. It's important to think it all through before we start to discuss in detail or go public on what the arrangements will be. One thing I can confirm though, is that none of our VIP / invited guests will receive much in the way of special treatment inside the clubhouse. I think this is such an emotional day that frankly, everyone ought to be in the same boat and experiencing it together. The hospitality/function room is therefore likely to be opened up as a second bar and all the nobs will be sharing it with you!!!

This will give us a much larger capacity - and a greater chance for real fans - than if we start to rope areas off.

Except the Deputy Leader and me of course, we shall be in a cushioned, velvety roped-off area with special carpet and a group of cheerleaders to throw rose petals over us. We shall be carried to our seats on a special sedan chair carved from mahogany. Eleborate carved ivory screens will be erected around us so we don't have to meet any of you. Just like the bar at Stonebridge Road really!

One of the best ways to make sure the "long standing" fans first would be to open it up for general admission and limit the numbers allowed in with a doorman.  If somebody leaves(no that's not a tree pun, I already wasted about 20 minutes of my life on that ridiculous thread) the bar then somebody else can go in.  The reason I think this will work is that I believe that the fans that have been with the club over the past few years will be most excited by the event and will probably want to be at the stadium as early as possible, I know I will!

You could also do what they do in America and get in some beer in plastic bottles/glasses and sell it in big bins of ice around the ground(if licensing laws allow of course).

You could measure peoples waist size before they are allowed in and don't let anybody in who would take up to much room, like me!

Absolutely typical of politicians, I wouldn't have expected anything else. It's just another opportunity to exercise your already over inflated egos.

I mean, what has Dartford Borough Council ever done for Dartford Football Club?

NOTE TO DARTFORD MESSENGER EDITOR - The above comment is meant to be an entirely tongue in cheek attempt at sarcasm - please don't take it literally. Thanks!

Dave T, I like it and the footnote whether it be yours or Gary's. :-)

P.S. You had better explain it to Spike as I know he doesn't understand sarcasm
