I agree with you sir , that a draw would have been a fair result.Leatherheads no.9 was certainly a handful all night.Lew Watts did indeed have a good game.It was a shame that Ryan Hayes did not see more of the ball in the second half as his crosses were causing panic at times.Good to see Brendo get on the score sheet again. Hopefully the luck will come our way again this season , starting with the Trophy this Saturday.

Okay, I admit I wouldn't vote for him anyway on this occasion, but he ought to be on the list.

As for the match, I hate it when people go on and on about how the referee cost us the game, week after week, moaning and groaning about officials. The problem with doing this is that when you really do get a complete muppet like the one we had last night, nobody reading this thread would be sure if it was just the usual biased ranting or a genuine grievance. Check back through my postings and you will see I hardly ever complain about referees. Last night was different ... he was a genuine bona fide idiot.

I disagree that Leatherhead were a bunch of thugs, as has been suggested by a few, but in my view the referee was so poor that the game started to get a bit niggly entirely because of his ineptitude. I thought it was a hard fought competitive match between two fairly equal sides. Yes, he did miss Cassy getting an elbow in the head, but he also missed a couple of things that went our way. He wasn't biased, just rubbish. I am absolutely convinced that we would have won this game but for the stupidity of the man in black. At 1-0 up his decision to turn down the most blatant penalty since football began denied us the opportunity to make it 2-0 and probably kill the game off. I can only assume that had he been present at JFK's assassination, this referee would have told JFK to get up and get on with it and stop play acting. He spoilt the game.

Anyway, I look forward to playing them away in a few weeks time.

I guess the reason Dave wasn't in the list, was the same one as the reason why Hayesy was in the list twice! It's amended now.

If Leatherhead were physical, who could blame them.  They know our players have the game of a lifetime in less than two weeks.  They used that knowledge every time they went in hard for a 50/50 and probaly even 40/60.  The thing is, they too have a massive match on the same day.  We should have done the same to them.

Half way through the 2nd half we did start giving it back to them and really got stuck in. The difference is that we've never really been a rough and physical team.

the alledged comment about Lhead being thugs is totally incorrect but they were experienced and got up to all the antics and i hope our boys learnt a trick or two as pure football alone  is not enough these days

i dont advocate it but learning from painful lessons ultimately has its rewards   !!!!!
