Hi  Raymondo, the ground is beginning to take shape and we all eagerly await the reports and pics from those chosen few who got a sneak preview. I noticed your review of grounds on the Maidstone forum and can’t quite believe some of the grounds you listed below have a bigger capacity than Princes Park especially if you take into account that PP has terracing on 3 quarters of the ground and a 1000 seats. We might not have the biggest of non league stadiums however in terms of design and architecture impression I believe Dartford will have the best in the non league pyramid.

Chatham
Capacity: 5,000
Seats: 500

Cray
Capacity: 5,000
Seats: 1,300

Croydon
Capacity 3000
Seats 163
Covered Standing 300

Dover
Capacity: 6,500
Seats: 1,000

Fleet Town
Capacity 2000
Seats 200
Covered Standing 100

Molesey
Capacity 4000
Seats 400

Look forward to taking you and your dad along when the two teams eventually play each other. Just for the record there are a few posters on here that come from the Maidstone area including The Duke who lives a STONES throw away from you at Grove Green. He’s got more spin than Shane Warne and Muralitheran put together.

Give my regards to the old man and tell him to “Hang on in there baby”.

On another issue, you may start to see signs of a little more active publicity about the new stadium in the next fortnight or so. I think it's sensible to start attracting new followers, and new interest in the Stadium and the club, over this great Summer of football.

Anyone notice something happened today? :)

Sorry for being naive but what was it or are you going to start giving clues?

I think Tom is probably referring to a special message for Rail Travellers using (or more precisely exiting)  Dartford Station.

As I said, it's important that we start to publicise the great new Stadium and get the message across.

a question for jeremy and apologies if i am stating the obvious.it is the actual pitch.a pitch obviously needs time to settle in before it is used.has this been accounted for in the building .can jeremy tell us when the pitch will be laid,it will be great to see the first pictures of the pitch.

Looking at the latest pictures I've just had a thought. How often will the ball get stuck on the roof? because the shape of it doesn't look like it lends itself to the ball coming down of it's own accord. And if this is happening every week what will the retrieving of the ball do to the roof over a period of time?

Ten Minutes after Rambo's message, the crews arrived on site to install the main pitch which just goes to show the sort of service you get from a Conservative-led authority.  Bill Archer has taken some tstunning pictures of the pitch being laid which I'm sure Gary will post for you some time soon.

As for the Balls getting stuck on the roof, the honest answer is I don't know. I do know however, that there's access from the main clubhouse to the roof and I suspect it will mean a man (or woman) poking about with a big stick. I wouldn't lose sleep about it though.

Another Big Day at Princes Park - pitch in!!!

ps. nice two page spread about the Stadium in the Dartford Messenger this week.
