So, finally:

Princes Park is opening, and the Darts come home. Thanks should go to the following (but not limited to the following) :-

* The Board of Directors (every single member of the board since 1993) for believing in the club, for believing in everything that the club stands for, and for not giving in when lesser people could (and would) have given in. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Saturday is for you, and I hope you realise how grateful everyone is for your work.
* Jeremy Kite and Dartford Borough Council: When I first heard that the club were going to be offered a place up at Halls/Princes Park, I was sceptical (especially given the Cotton Lane empty promises). Three years on, I am delighted to say that they haven't gone back on their word, and they have given everyone more than we could have ever hoped for. Promises delivered, hope delivered, the club's long term stability delivered. Again, from the bottom of everyone's hearts, thank you.
* The Supporters Association- the same as the board, they have never given up, and they have never looked back and thought "Oh, sod this - let's give up". I was on the DFCSA for 6 years back in the day, and even though I am not on the commitee now, I know how much hard work they put into things. Race nights, raffles, Dartford Festivals, Karaoke nights; and that's just the stuff they do in public. Guys/girls - you deserve our respect, and our gratitude.
* The supporters: Anywhere from 150 to 500 of us, depending on the period - every week, we dig deep into our pockets, we dig deep into our souls to shout for the club, and to give our all for the team. Let's enjoy the day.

in real terms i am one of the newer fans and was cadjoled into going by trevB and the 5th and from the very first match i got hooked into being a darts fan

it wasnt the class of football that got me hooked,  it was the enthusiasm, loyalty, camerardie , banter and friendliness by a real good bunch of decent guys who were darts mad and enjoyed their football

it has been a privelage to get involved and do a bit for the club [ along with all of the other lads [ and lasses] and I am so looking forward to saturday and the future

i was not around in 1992 but i am very aware of what the board and the long term fans have achieved and they are a credit to non league football

UP THE DARTS !!!!!!!

I would like to echo everything that Gary said above. I stopped following the Darts in 1996 but thanks to TLD was roped along again in 2002 and have been to 90% of games ever since. If everybody had done the same as me, there would not be a DFC now.

That is why I am eternally grateful to not only the board members but the supporters that have stuck by through thick and thin and believed that one day the club would return home. I salute you all.

I spoke to some board members today about the bits and bobs that are being finished off at the ground. There is still plenty to be done but believe it, SATURDAY WE ARE COMING HOME. Sometimes Thank You seems such a pathetic little phrase to express such a strong sentiment. BUT THANK YOU EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS MOMENTOUS DAY IN OUR MIDST!

At times the words THANK YOU can sound and mean so little but when it comes to things like this it means absolutely everything, but also it just doesn't seem enough. After everything that our board of Directors and DBC have done for Dartford F.C. over these last 14 or so years to now be where we are today and to have what we do as from Saturday is absolutely, well & truely BLOODY FANTASTIC.

Theres not a lot really anyone of us can do except to say a massive THANK YOU to our great board of Directors first & formost for keeping this brilliant club of ours alive the way you have, much respect has to go out to you guys. At times you've come in for a bit of stick over various different things but you've taken it on the chin and just carried on putting more & more money in just for the name of DFC to survive and Saturday really is going to be your reward.

Then comes the fantastic & loyal DFC Supporters who have stuck by the club through thick & thin no matter what has happend, whether the team have played great and terribly you've always been there singing & shouting away. Also putting your hands deep into your pockets and spending your hard earned cash whether it's been Johnny Scratchcard Stewart badgering you for the footy/scratch cards or me with the raffle you've always dug deep and Saturday will be just reward for you all as well.

And last but not least is DBC themselves who've spent £6.5 million on building this superb stadium so that The Darts can finally come back home where they belong. You guys really have done DFC and the borough of Dartford proud, you could've given us many a false hope and lots of false promises as we've had in the past but you really have stuck to your word and went ahead with everything you said you was going to do and much much more.

So from the bottom of my heart as a long term DFC Supporter can i thank each & everyone of you thats been involved.

THE DARTS ARE COMING HOME.[/color]

Well said Gary, and I'm sure we'd all agree with your comments. It really doesn't seem enough to just say "thanks", does it? It would be nice if us supporters could come up with a momento or something for the Board and Dartford Council, but I guess the only momento we all want is Princes Park itself.

Back to the match, and the toughest job for TB and the team will be to keep their mind on the job I guess. It's OK for us all to get carried away with the moment, but once 3pm arrives they will need to be focussed on getting the win the day demands. Anything else would be an anti-climax.

I want all 4100 fans to leave saying "Great stadium, and a pretty good team as well - I'm coming back for more on Tuesday!"

Myself, my brother and my Dad are all ridiculously excited. I think a couple of thousand new Darts fans will be made on Saturday, and...who knows...a few may be slightly weened off of their 'Top Flight' clubs.

Dartford Council....brilliant.
Fans.....brilliant.
Directors....brilliant.

And lets not forget the workmen...brilliant.

Roll on Saturday!!
