Dover at Home on the 9th - Match Thread
« on: November 29, 2006, 06:34:56 PM »

Hi all
Does anyone happen to know if there was a decision made regarding this match being All Ticket
also will this be segregated
cheers 4 now

(Edit by Gary - this is now being made the match thread. Any hint of abuse between the two sets of supporters will be punished swiftly, and harshly. I don't have enough time to be dealing with petty, childish squabbles so I'm warning everyone now - Dartford or Dover supporters, I don't care. Just follow the rules).

Yes, it's not all ticket, but it will be segregation. Dover will, apparently, have the car park end.

Omigod! If Dover have got the car park end, does that mean I'd better leave the car at home and come by Fastrack??? :?

That does sound a bit iffy giving Dover the car park end.

I hope people have got good insurance companies.

When dover came to bourne park earlier in the season they brought at least 300 supporters with them  our average home crowd is 200 and there was 580 at the game so expect a lot more than 100 .

Why the segregation , when the jolly boys came down to us there was no trouble just some good old banter ,when it was raining  they all came over and joined us in the shed we even  went 1-0  up when  they was with us  and there was no trouble .

they're wont be no trouble but we will bring at least 400 up to princes park. shame we havent got a bar to go to cause thats where most your money would have come from.
Looking foward to a hopefully gr8 match where dover take all three points.

Good to hear it White Army. The more of you guys that come along, the more our average gate will be increased to be the best in the league! We too are looking forward to a great match... with a different result of course!

Shame about the segregation, and that you won't be able to use the bar with us (I didn't realise that) but I guess it's down to the regulations. It's a pity though, because that's what makes this non-league game so great, the fact we can have a bit of rivallry and banter, then a laugh and a joke together over a beer in the bar afterwards.

Still, all the best and have a good day.

I'm not sure why segregation is being applied to this match.  OK there may well be a large number from Dover but that doesn't automatically lead to any trouble.  I would suggest that some of the more provactive (not banter) comments that have been posted on both club's unofficial websites may have led to this.  It is shame that Dover and Darts supporters can not mix in the bar before hand.  The Dover boys and girls can then can see why we are so proud of our new home provided by DBC.

Hopefully it will be a classic and we pick-up the points as Dover have several games in hand to pull away from the pack.

Looking forward to this match and all the others between now and April (and hopefully May for the play-offs!).

Is it in fact actually true that the bar is out of bounds to Dover fans merely because the ground is being segregated - or is that just what everybody is assuming?

Second question: Who actually took the decision that the match should be segregated? The club(s)? The Council? The police? The Ryman League? I THINK WE SHOULD BE TOLD!! THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE SOMEWHERE!!! :?

I totally agree HH and skip  can't really see why it's segregated but even more bemusing is the fact that when we have two bars with two seperate entrances can we not allow them use of the other bar. we ARE not in league football and we HAVE no history of violence so why the decision. Segregation will only fuel any misunderstanding and How much revenue are we losing?

I don't want to be the grammar police, because my grammar is awful.  However, I read the first 2 words of your post and decided I wouldn't read the rest.
