Tony Burman, sort out that bl**dy defence two soft goals again and just how many misses can those forwards be allowed, get a grip man.
Hold on lads just a note in jest for Tony who threatened to lockup our keyboards as he visited our table on race night which had several posters around including The Duke, Kentish Man, Gooner Paul, Martin C. T.L.D. and yours truly.
He also said he told Davey not to shoot from 40 yards and that Davey was not off just yet, well get re-negotiating Tony, because now he has two feet if it was ever in doubt.
What a game and goal, with missed chances 14 goals would not have flattered such was the dominance, yet as Gary said Burgess Hill were not the worst team we have played.
The best Darts performance for goals, skill and sheer out and out attacking football since Peter Taylor's days and I'm sure Tony was very proud of the team today as were we all.
Too many goals to relay here and it was also all happening too quickly for my poor old brain to take in, but suffice to say I was directly behind the goal exactly in line with the left hand cross bar and post looking from behind and with what a 6'6" goalie only a couple of yards off his line saw probably the best goal I will see in my lifetime and certainly the best in over 50 years of supporting The Darts.
Picking the ball up on the left hand touchline 40 yards out Davy checked, feinted to go outside the defender dragged the ball back onto his right foot as he turned inside, looked up and saw the keeper was only just off his line and thought "let's have a go", oh so powerfully hit (with the wrong foot ?) I was able to follow the flight of the ball directly in my line of sight from boot to inside the joint of crossbar and post, not a lob but sheer pace and accuracy which ricocheted off wood into the net, no keeper would have stopped it.
A team performance of the highest order and a credit to ther directors, management and fans, but also just reward for Jeremy, the council and especially Princes Park.
