"as usual you have a fair point but i really dont think that the posts are cruel just opinions by fans [ including me ] on what they saw and felt"

It seems to me that practically all posts are either constuctive criticism when things haven't gone too well, balanced by generous praise when things have gone well.

It's good (healthy, actually) to express different opinions and I don't see anyone being destructive in the list of red points above.  We all share a passion for DFC and are willing the club to gain promotion.  Hopefully (in fact I'm sure), when others have different opinions to ours, we can accept them without taking things personally.

Hear hear! My feelings exactly - provided comments/criticisms and comments on comments/criticisms remain civilised and are not worded in such a way as to cause possible offence. xtip

As humans we all make mistakes and that does include TB and the management/directors of our club, sounds a bit patronising, its not meant to be. I personally very rareley have a pop at TB and the players and yes have stirred the cooking pot when it comes to the directors regards communications and various other little gripes.

Everyone is right in their own way because its their personal opinion then there's differing views, hey then you have a proper forum and this one is one of the best. Carry on posting your views because points are picked up and used POSITIVELY.

Its all good stuff, the only advice i could give is on occasions do not post while your blood is boiling in the heat of the moment!

Spike I've said it before and I'll say it again we will agree to disagree but as a suggestion to you albeit you like standing at the side, why not try standing behind the goal with the majority of posters and gauge the mood of the fans.

The only post in red that was mine from memory (and I can't be bothered to check further is as follows)

"Surely a sub on now perhaps Jimmy for a tiring Teddy and a push forward to clinch the points as our defence was not being troubled, but no we had to wait until the 75 minute to see a change and then Jimmy came on and to the disbelief of alot of people behind the goal Cassie was taken off."

I have always tried to post information rather than having a pop at T.B. or others as there are a good many fans who are absent from the games and so I try to inpart some of the comments or feelings of the fans behind the goal within the general match report/notes.

This quoted segment was part of the match report and posted seperately means it can be taken totally out of context.

I will continue to post comments and you can interprete them as criticisms as is your want.

I can not get caught up in the euphoria of an away win. Our opponents were VERY poor, barely fashioning a chance. Good defending by our boys? More like their attack was useless. No wonder they have not won in something like 12 games, yes November against US. Did we play good football? For the first twenty minutes we strung a few passes together yes, apart from that hoofs into the channels were the order of the day. A tactic Tony Burman admitted to employing on radio kent 'getting the ball over and behind the full backs'

It was a workman like performance, their keeper had little to do, we ground out a result and fair play to manager and team for employing winning tactics.

Top of the league we are, on the back of won 1 drew 1 lost 2, so excuse me for not getting too excited. There is a lot to be done but not all our opponents will be as easy as the ones we played today so we will have to play much better than this to even make the play offs. Things are tight up there and to me that means highly competitive. Today there was no need to compete and we edged a win.

Having cooled down and out of my emotional state following the Irons terrible result I have reflected on my comments above tonight. I feel I was a little harsh in that the conditions were very difficult and we can't play flowing football every week regardless of the pitch. I did give credit that winning tactics were employed and I want to reinforce that all you can do is beat the team in front of you regardless of their form. On Saturday, we did that well.

My last paragraph was my way of saying just because we are top of the league it isn't time to sit back and relax. We still have to, and I feel we are still capable of moving up through a couple more gears to make that one last push for automatic promotion. Let's get behind the lads to do our part on the terraces as we did so well behind the goal on Saturday.

Once again Trev, you appear to have responded to a different posting to the one I wrote. I am happy to accept that it is quite possible that the people behind the goal may have a different view to mine, so what? I am not trying to change yours or anyone else's opinion, merely to express my own. I don't want to stand behind the goal because personally I believe you get a much better perspective on what is going on from the side of the pitch. Personally, I am not as well informed as you and haven't got a clue what the thoughts of the other 500+ people standing round the same side as me are, I only know the views of the dozen or so that I stand with and whether or not they wish to publish them on here is up to them. People have different opinions and that is fine with me.

The fact that you only made one of the quotes that I highlighted also confirms what I said originally that I was talking about comments in general and no specific individual. Every time I post anything on here both you and Matt seem to think I am having a pop at you ... I'm not. I have never had a problem with anything either of you have posted although I may not always agree with it. Please try and get your head around the fact that not everything I post is about you!!! In any case, I don't understand why my opinion causes you so much personal heartache, especially since you believe it to be a minority viewpoint anyway.

I totally agree that the comment attributed to you was misleading if taken out of context and I explained this myself when I said "many of the above quotes were made as part of well balanced postings by people who highlighted both good and bad things about the game". I make no excuses for this, I was just trying to demonstrate that their were criticisms posted because you had denied this. In fact, one of the comments even contained the phrase "biggest critiicism".

I find it very frustrating trying to have a discussion when people respond to stuff that wasn't said in the first place.

To clarify ... It is my humble opinion that the team are performing well above reasonable expectations at the start of the season and that the manager is doing a fantastic job. I understand that he was disappointed by some of the criticisms after the Cray game and having looked through them I could understand why. I felt that the amount of negativity in the postings after the Cray match was a little over the top and I just wanted to say so. Just why this view causes you so much trouble I honestly don't know.

Yeah, I agree, Spike.  All that criticism after the Ashford match was bang out of order........just imagine what it would have been like if it hadn't been postponed

I just want to say UP THE DARTS!

Oh, and I think in the second half of Saturday's match, Teddy rmembered his engine is larger than most people's, well done Mr Ansell.

Also, I'm increasingly happy Kessel is in goal.

Once again... UP THE DARTS!

Thanks for that. Obviously I meant the CRAY match. (So disappointed at not getting my fix on Tuesday I still had Ashford on my mind).  Anyway, I've edited it now so your post just looks silly.
