I've just logged onto the official ATFC website as listed in the above posting by Gary and have just  had a good read.
I hadn't spotted the report before (probably because it took a bit of time to write and wasn't posted until some time after the match finished) on our home match game. It's an entertaining, if lengthy, and a very fair report by Milton Keynes Correspondent. I certainly enjoted reading it. Well done MK.

If you haven't already read it, it is well worth a read over the weekend.

I have just read the MK report, he certainly has a way with words :-D I am not certain I agree with some of his report, the Tommy incident especially, but it is definitely worth a read just to see how the other side saw the match.

Plenty of parking.  Which is just as well as it's in the back of beyond.

Had an email from Peter Martin this morning:

"There will be a pitch inspection at 11.30am tomorrow but the game is very doubtful with all the rain that has fallen over the last 24/48 hours."

Oh, and I'm not going to be at a PC tomorrow, so if I find out, I'll try to text a few of you (those who I have numbers of) to get it put on here. Email me if you want your number added to the list.

That is very good of you Gary . At present I have a half day as I would not have enough time to drive to Ashford once I got home so hopefully we will know by lunchtime. Shame as after Saturday I was looking forward to another good performance in the mud from the super Darts.

After all the rain today in Kent i will be amazed if the game goes ahead, that pitch must be well waterlogged.

This copied from our friends website at Ashford

I have asked for an early pitch inspection because it helps the players from both sides who usually have to take an afternoon off work to play of an evening. That has now been arranged for 11.30 Tuesday and I will post the result as soon as known.

I would say there is only a slim chance of getting this game on tomorrow given the current rain and forecast. We need at least 24 hours without rain to enable the drains to clear what is already on the surface otherwise we will have to play in wellingtons.

Also taken from the Ashford site:
Well our CEO has nearly got it right today. Yes there is a lot of water on the pitch which is a shame because the actual surface is in very good condition. Centre always looks bad but they are not the concern area's. Basically its the four corners. Re aligned the pipe in the ditch today and water is gushing out but may be just too much to get away. Still never say never.

Hoping that the dry 18 hours + has helped, click the link for up to date weather for Ashford

Sounds like that pitch at Ashford needs deep spikes !

taken from Ashfords Forum

Sorry to say tonight's game is off. The referee inspected the pitch at 11am and concluded that there would still be too many soft areas tonight to be able to play the game safely. Hardly surprising given the amount of rain over the weekend even though the weather is much brighter today.

A revised date will be announced shortly meanwhile we will make every effort to get Saturday's game on against Chatham Town.

According to Ashford Forum tonights game is definatly off the pitch is just too soggy :(

Just what we didnt need at the moment oh well heres looking forward to Saturdays home game

Cheers Dan
