A cracking game of football last night, I was also sat in the seats near the dugout and I thought although our end was packed it was actually pretty quiet for large parts of the game. When the choir did sing it was great but felt it could have been more constant. Just my view from where I was ! Back to the footy and the first half really was a game of two halves (?), we stormed the first twenty minutes then T&M took the game to us and pulled it back. T&M are a great footballing side but they only really showed it in patches. Their first goal was definately handled by their striker in the box, although it shouldn't have even come to that because it was never a free kick in the first place. Second half I thought we were superb, if only we could have converted one or two chances eh ?! The whole team gave their all which is all you can ask, I felt sorry for one of our players when TB gave him a rollicking towards the end for a poor delivery I think he was just knackered and had nothing left in his tank ! I was very impressed with Mark Green, he really has given us some balance in midfield he looks quite pacey and very strong - I think he could be a top signing. All round a bit gutted with the draw but can't complain as it was a good performance. Lets hope we can nick the 3 points  on Saturday, that will make amends for the last two or three results. Good Darts.

Did anyone else notice we seemed to be winning the headers a lot last night?
I really felt we had been lacking this previously, the ball was in the air a lot last night and our boys done well!

Whilst it's disappointing to find our recent matches are not yielding the 3 points we really desparately need to maintain, it is very good to be reading that the lads are putting everything in the games and serving up entertaining stuff to keep the crowds happy. It does seem we have a mountain to climb in trying to catch Maidstone (and well done to them) as we now have played a couple of games more and still a few points behind. But all is not lost for a promotion this year and if we can make the play offs in a good vein of form, it doesn't matter in which of the play off postions we are. Arguably our away form may be better than at home. Still work to be done though, and wouldn't it be nice to beat T&M at the third time of asking!!

Great to see another 1000+ gate for a midweek fixture in spite of doubts about the game being on and a live game on TV. That bad weather has probably stopped me getting to my guess of 5555 for the last 4 matches! So no win for me either!

Considering this is a transformation season, we seem to be getting stronger and stronger, especially as T&M are deemed to be THE form team of the moment, and we were beating them 2-0 at the one stage and could have been by more.
Still lookiing on the bright side of life.

si2 you are right about our heading ,i believe we are as good in the air as we have been at any time in the last 3 seasons.i have been critical of our heading this season especially from guesty but i am convinced he has really improved of late  especially attacking the ball from corners.heading is such an important part of the game as a team good in the air can knock the stuffing out of the other team.

The Love of The Game ;We all have our opinions and we are all right. Here we go my thoughts

The central striker Ie Jay May is the most important player when we go forward. We have the three/two midfield central players going to support and the wide lads getting forward.Thos puts the opposition on a back foot and us shaped and pressing their box(We score)

After half an hour we stop playing JM and lose shape the opposition score create we are on the back foot

Half time chat from Tony we get back to what we started with and go on taking into account the changes for the opposition.

The I was going to say most important players for us bad statement they are all just as important but we need  the spine to be on form Kessell,Guesty,Lew,Eddie and JM

We all have our opionions and that is mine hope it is not shot down to much.

No reason for it to be shot down at all Pete, as you say we've all got our opinions.

Couldn't get on to the www.kentishfootball.co.uk website last night, but just visited it now and read the excellent match report by Stephen McCartney and also the supeb article featuring Tony Burman's comments on the match as well.

The match seems to have been even better than I imagined.

TB is half expecting the Darts to be stuffing somebody in the near future. It would be good if it happened to be Maidstone to claw back some of their goal difference advantage, as well as their points advantage, although that might be a difficult task with a couple of suspensions. But if the match does get postponed, then may be Ashford might be the team to suffer. The boys sure seem to be buzzing, even if the points aren't coming in as we hoped. But the chance is still there, so lets keep buzzing. As TB says, everybody is behind the boys. Come on You Darts' We can do it - and in style.

It really was a cracking match Pete, between two top sides and a real credit to our league. OK, we're all a little disappointed to have only got a single point, but it proved that when we are playing well, there is no better side in our league. With the exception of Haffy, this was a full strength squad, and how well balanced the team looked. Mark Green is looking like yet another top signing by TB, and as Tony Dolby was apparently in the crowd, he must have been thinking I've dropped a real b****** by letting him go!

The early goals gave us great confidence, and whilst the manner of their two goals were both a bit unforunate, I stand by my opinion that Tooting are still the best side I've seen this season, and on Tuesday, we were equally good. It was great to see us taking the game to our opponents and showing them what we are capable of. I'm sure the crowd volume and general positive feeling on the terraces showed how much we all enjoy seeing our Darts play this way.

The lads must have been a bit deflated at the break having seen a well earned two goal lead snatched back, but we came out and dominated the second half with some really good quality pacy passing football - a real treat to watch. Cassy didn't stop running all night and I'm sure is was his exhaustion that contributed to him missing a couple of chances that on another day would have gone in and secured the points.

I think TB is right, in that perhaps the rub of the green is slightly against us at the moment, and we are due a really good win. What better time to do that than on saturday against the Stones!

Come on you Darts!

T & M match

I didn't see our two goals as I was still taking MONEY in my turnstile, but it cheered me up to hear you lot !!

I thought the lads done really well after their [T & M[ second went in and were a credit to themselves.

I could not see the logic of bringing James on for two minutes, If he had the last twenty we might have got

something more than the one point. As you all know he's a strong lad and puts himself about, I just hope we

don't lose him at the end of the season.          UP THE DARTS

It was great to visit your much exalted stadium for this match. I knew i'd be impressed but nothing prepared me for it really. From the moment i entered and looked down onto that pitch - WOW! I'm positively jealous. There had been so much rain prior, and i could see some water on the surface of the pitch but you'd never guess it when played on, truly magical.

On looking around the ground after arriving very early....beautifully laid out. I'd noted the food bars and made my way to the bar. Very nice area, the seating looked very comfy, though none of the best seats were left at 6.30!

Great views over the pitch, thankfully no athletics track! The ground had filled and the atmosphere rose. Some good footy played, and a pleasure to see the old Angels boys in action. 2 goals and it looked like you were sailing home comfortably...

I've never been to a ground that provided seat service. Enjoyed a nice slice of pizza without having to leave my seat!

Half time brought on a dilema...Fag or drink...Fag or drink....I'm sorry to say the nicotine craving won. The stewards which were in abundance i found most helpful.

Watching behind the home goal was thrilling. Not a lot of singing or chanting, but plenty of noise and atmosphere. Never a moment's worry, except on the pitch. The game was yours, but what a freak equalising goal!

Lovely place to visit, and shall again when diary allows. Thank you.

Kind comments-thank you  :-D
Quick mention of the 'pizza girls' I think they are a good idea, the queues at half time are terrible (I accept thats the same everywhere at half time) so it is nice to grab something without missing any of the game or losing your seat  :-D

Just back from two days away and catching up on the posts, good to see views from both sides on the use of substitutes, for me I have to say I don't know, for this particular match as rightly someone said those tired knackered players still kept creating the chances and it was as much luck not being with us as exhausted players that stopped us getting the winner.

On the other hand with the introduction of Jimmy much earlier would that have made a difference, who knows and more to the point who'd want to have to be Tony making the decisions.

100% effort was the order of the day and all of that and more was given by all the players and it contributed to a very exciting game and confirmed Tooting to be the best team we have seen this season, but in saying that we more than matched them and should have won.

When you are two goals up whether it is Tooting or any other team, when it is unlucky referee's decisions re- hand ball or dodgy rebounds etc we shouldn't concede two goals so quickly thus sending our players in at half time with heads slightly down.

Second half was almost all ours, but Tooting certainly had their moments and always looked dangerous on the breaks, so with two or three chances falling to Cassie, on another day he would have made sure, but please no criticism of him, because how he lasted the full game I just don't know.

But last it he did and never stopped trying and it was nice to see him react with the crowd behind the goal on a couple of occasions urging us to wind up and raise the vocals at two corner kicks.

To late for a vote but pleased that my man won it as Eddie was Eddie as always when on the pitch, non stop running, tackling back, distibuting pin point passes, running and holding off defenders as he surged forward and a goal to boot. (with a lot of luck to get a rebound)

Well done to every player and let's get at Maidstone from the start with a similar attitude but this time with a better result, we will no doubt concede goals but let's just get one more than them.
