I think we have an excellent chance with our young guns even with the suspensions. As for running scared Stoneman why should we be when we have beaten you once this season quite convincingly.

One thing is for sure we will have our work cut out as Maidstone are a very strong physical side with plenty of experience. Besides we are in this thing long term and don’t rely of bringing players in on a big wage.

We might have a little more money now we have our own ground but we still have a very large overdraft in excess of £50,000 so we don’t have as big a budget as you think, certainly a lot less than you guys, and we don’t have a sugar daddy bank rolling us. Most of our players come from Dartford and quite a number of our squad have worked their way through our youth setup. How many of the Stones team can boast that they play for their home town?

I will enjoy the game Saturday whatever the result as these are the type of matches which the supporters want to see.

Enjoy the game.

Please calm down chaps it's only a game.

I can't stand Maidstone. Never have done, never will do. Spending big on players? Don't have a ground? Spending money on players in front of getting a ground in their home town sorted? Sound familiar? Surely not! All their eggs in one basket, with one man running the show? Sound familiar?

Can't wait for Saturday....that's if their Sittinbournes's pitch can hold up

Spending big on players?.Not as much as Dartford Jason.Big time Charlies you lot now and everyone wants to beat you.Sounds familiar???.

Hello West Sussex Stones (plural?!?!?)

Are we spending big on players? Even if we are, we are getting the crowds to back up the supposed spending. What have you got to back it up at the moment. One man, your chairman. Surely it's safer in the long run to get a good financial footing? As a Stone fan you must know that?  As for your flippant "everyone wants to beat you. Sounds familiar???." comment I should hope so to. Do you think any team wants to loose to us, Tooting or any team. Get a grip.

Also on a related pont, is the Sittinbourne ground upto Ryman Premier standard? If not, what work needs to be carried out?

Ps and DJ John

I for one would love to see both ourselves and Maidstone promoted this year  , it would be great for Kent football and we would still have plenty of Kent derbies too ....Tonbridge , Bromley , Ramsgate , Margate and Folkestone .

Fair play to Maidstone for going top , one defeat in a long unbeaten run shows consistancy which we have lacked a little of through February but if we continue the way we played on Tuesday , the play offs and promotion are still very real targets. Cannot wait for Saturday for a great game of football and sound good friendly banter.

1 turnstile is required at Bourne Park.
New dugouts that seat 8 people are needed.
Paper towel dispensers in the toilets (I kid you not!)
Permanent cordoning off of the loose stone area at the far end
Plastic safety caps on all bolts and sharp edges on floodlight pylons and scaffolding poles (eg around Blakey's Garden shed).

Doesnt seem to much in my view  :|

Nice to see the banter starting!

I have to say, although we were big spenders in the KL and i don't know to much about that as i wasnt a Stones fan then, i do know that we are 'mid-table' in terms of wages now. Regarding your wages, obviously i don't know too much but Barnes was on more with you than our highest earner (whoever that may be!).

The game should be on, surely going to benefit us more with your boys more used to the plush turf at PP.

See you at the weekend my good friends from Dartford xtip

Perhaps so, but that particular past still rankles.

And it shows, Oh and as mentioned a little earlier Nick Barnes and Lew Watts, 7 day approaches with offers 'they couldn't refuse'
Tends to suggest whose splashing the cash, doesn't it.

The pressure is on you lot if you're going to catch us you've got to win, where we can afford to drop the odd point or two.

Stoneage, the offers "they couldn't refuse" were the opportunity to play for a big club, with superb support with the chance to play at a fantastic non-league ground. I think it tends to suggest where players would rather play !

And for Watts, not to mention the fact that he can walk to the ground from his house!

You have hit the nail on the head there Gary. Most of our players are local lads.

The big differences between our two clubs are that Maidstone is generally a buying club and Dartford is a selling club historically speaking. We place a greater emphasis on developing our own players through the youth teams and signing players from local lower non league clubs like Slade Green. That’s why our playing budget will always be less than Maidstone’s.

Besides one of my relatives plays for the Stones and he told me there is a certain Mr. Tiese who is on £500 a week as well as a goal bonus…that’s more than a quarter of our playing budget, and how much are Fatman & Robin on (Walker & Hume)?

Oh Stoneage now is it, I think it's you lot that are living in the past

They went for money, money they couldn't refuse.

However, they did us a favour, we've got better players now, which is why we've lost 1 in 17 and you well not so good (cant be arsed looking it up)

As for running scared it was you lot that were hoping the weather would save you so you can get the best 11 against us.

I repeat look at the table, you've GOT TO BEAT US!

Whereby we dont have to beat you, it would just be very nice!

Pressure is on boys, I can feel cracks appearing at PP

I prefer not to quibble about what this player is on etc (its a lot though John!) we at Dartford are an emerging team that is in transition - results reflect that and our time will come, we have some excellent players that are getting used to new superb home surroundings, I have come to learn now that outstanding consistent teams are not built in 3 months, patience is the key, we will eventually climb the leagues, but not on a gamble or spend thrift policy, its gonna take time, we are enjoying our new home welcoming many hundreds of new fans that are again on a learning curve,

The money is coming in, somewhere during the next close season we will have friendlies against top sides, the crowds wil be big, more money rolling in, Dartford fc is back on the map again, i'm sure we will in time have a top side, i cannot wait, as for Maidstone and Dover we have nothing to be ashamed of win lose or draw Saturday we still can go up.
