To correct two earlier comments:
1. There WAS music for the team to come out to: Start Me Up, by the Stones. Unfortunately, whoever was on the Tannoy today didn't have the volume turned up loud enough, because it was extremely difficult to hear anything today - even right under a loudspeaker under the main stand I had to struggle to hear the announcement of the teams before kick-off and it took me a long time to identify the entry music
2. From my position in the seated section in line with the edge of the penalty area, the linesman got ALL of the offside decisions RIGHT in the first half.
Re the match itself, during the first half I thought it was going to turn into a repeat of the Croydon match. The football the Darts were playing was simply dire. Far too much up in the air - in THAT wind??? - and poor passing. A vast improvement in the second half, although the 2 late goals (88th and 93th minutes by my watch) put a flattering gloss on the final score-line. All credit to CC , though - they tried to play football, never laid down and rolled over and got really stuck in for the whole 90 minutes. It was just a shame for them that their shooting was absolutely awful, because they did have 2-3 good chances. As regards the MOM, a number of players quite frankly put in below-par performances today (Eddie can't have been fully match-fit if he had to be subbed at half-time). I suppose Jay May has got to be the prime candidate, not only for his hat-trick but also for his non-stop running and chasing. But I was also impressed with Brad Potter (standing in, I know not why, for Tommy Osborne) and Richard Avery.
But perhaps just as important as the result was the addition to the goals scored column: another +4 on the GD could make all the difference come the end of the season. Bring on Dulwich Hamlet next week!!!
