I haven't managed to find the Tooting and Fleet results yet. They can overtake us if they win their games  in hand, so we need them to drop points.

Tooting appear to have drawn 3-3, not a bad result for us.

So 4-0. Can't be as critical as I'd like to be as the boys have got a good result.

The opposition was poor and we were a little better than that. Defensively, we weren't really tested but as an attacking force, no movement creativity, vision - there were no flowing moves. It was a classic display of kick and rush football and it will not hold up against Dulwich that's for sure.

Great hat-trick by Jay - well taken goals and a good finish by Brendan too. I just want to see a more controlled performance because it wasn't one today.

Thought large portions of the first half were absolutely dire. No imagination or even players looking up.

Completely different story in the 2nd half though (aside from some more bizarre offside decisions) thought it was a joy to watch at times. Great hattrick  by Jay of course. Toward the end we were getting in behind them without resorting to the long ball all topped off with a sublime through ball by Jay for Brendan's finish.

Same as always really, once we get a decent lead and hold it (basically 2-0 and don't conceed two within 5 minutes) we start pleying decent football on the ground. Just need to start a few games with that confidence.

Bring on Dulwich!

Oh and who took the free kick that hit the bar in the 1st half? Me and my mates couldn't agree on who ended up taking it.

Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?

To correct two earlier comments:
1. There WAS music for the team to come out to: Start Me Up, by the Stones. Unfortunately, whoever was on the Tannoy today didn't have the volume turned up loud enough, because it was extremely difficult to hear anything today - even right under a loudspeaker under the main stand I had to struggle to hear the announcement of the teams before kick-off and it took me a long time to identify the entry music
2. From my position in the seated section in line with the edge of the penalty area, the linesman got ALL of the offside decisions RIGHT in the first half.

Re the match itself, during the first half I thought it was going to turn into a repeat of the Croydon match. The football the Darts were playing was simply dire. Far too much up in the air - in THAT wind??? - and poor passing. A vast improvement in the second half, although the 2 late goals (88th and 93th minutes by my watch) put a flattering gloss on the final score-line. All credit to CC , though - they tried to play football, never laid down and rolled over and got really stuck in for the whole 90 minutes. It was just a shame for them that their shooting was absolutely awful, because they did have 2-3 good chances. As regards the MOM, a number of players quite frankly put in below-par performances today (Eddie can't have been fully match-fit if he had to be subbed at half-time). I suppose Jay May has got to be the prime candidate, not only for his hat-trick but also for his non-stop running and chasing. But I was also impressed with Brad Potter (standing in, I know not why, for Tommy Osborne) and Richard Avery.
But perhaps just as important as the result was the addition to the goals scored column: another +4 on the GD could make all the difference come the end of the season. Bring on Dulwich Hamlet next week!!!
