Ditto on all the comments so far.  xeddie didn't look in it in the first half nowhere near his usual self but the half-time substitution helped. We will definitely have to raise our game against Dulwich next week, keep it on the deck and look where it's going. I have never been a fan of 'route one' football and with the wind it just shows it doesn't work! MOTM really hard to call but Jay probably just shaded it.

.........In all honesty, until the last 5 minutes of the first half, Dartford were pathetic. Much more spirited in the second half, and it's the result that counts from here on in. I assume the gaffer told them "Buck up, or you wear a strip like their's next season".We can do this, we can get into the play offs. We need to play 90 minutes + though, not 50.

The result made up for at times awful performance, perhaps the pressure is beginning to be felt. I have to agree about the tannoy being quiet or were some of them turned off? Maybe that is the official volume if we want music. And man was it cold!  :-)

gutted by an hour of terrible "football" by a dartford side who can be an absolute joy to watch. When we played a brilliant tooting side a couple of weeks back i thought we were great, playing mostly to feet, everybody working hard and with passion.today we just booted it in a mostly forward direction and showed ourselves up.first half-worst ive seen in ages.second half i thought mark green inspired the side by working so hard ,i think he was a good choice by T.B.. Ryno had a stinker and for some reason didnt want to take any defenders on.The result was great though and apart from those french shites the others didnt do so well.Looking forward to a great game next week as I know we are much better than today's performance. The choir were great today, but did anyone hear the tannoy?C.O.Y.DARTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heard a rumour that it was a new PA system.  Not sure what the problem with the 'old' one was.  Volume settings were too low as we all struggled to hear the half-time results and crowd announcement.

I cut it fine to arrive before a game these days, but still beat both linesmen - and I was walking.  Neither of them woke up during the game - only hope their driving is not as bad as some of those offside calls (especially second half).

Boiling water syndrome today - cold for the first half, warming up throughout the second to end up bubbling.  Right result, no injuries but a couple of silly yellow cards.  Bring on Horsham.  If we beat them, we strengthen our hold on third and it will take a mighty effort by anybody to snatch it back of us, even with games in hand finally being played.

Come on you DARTS!

Basically agree with the comments made about todays match, the 1st half we were absolutely atroshous our passing was all over the place and we really seemed to struggle to string 2 passes together. In the 2nd half we seemed a bit better but still couldn't make many passes without CC picking it up or cutting out our balls.

We only seemed to step up our game and actually start playing some good football in the last 10 - 15 minutes when we were all over them and scored 2 more goals. Jay was absolutely superb today with his non stop chasing and battling for the ball and fully deserved his hatrick, also Brendan was non stop running as well and deserved his goal after numerous attempts by Jay to set him up 1 finally paid off. Without a doubt Jay get my MOTM vote today.

You could clearly see that Eddie Mac wasn't in the game today and must have still been struggling with his injury and it was a good decision to sub him at halftime as Briggsy seemed to make a bit of a difference in the middle of the park and tried to keep the ball on the deck to play some football.

Credit must go to Casuels today for constantly battling away and trying to make a game of it and imho they looked a better team than Ashford did Tuesday night and i don't really believe they deserved to lose by 4 goals. It was probably lucky for us that their forwards couldn't shoot at all and any chances they had seemed to go completely high & wide otherwise the scoreline could well have been different.

We really will have to change the way we play for next weeks game otherwise the circumstances could well be very different against Dulwich than it was today, the players will need to be 100% focused and tuned in from the kick off and concentrate for the whole match as Dulwich will put us under lots more pressure than we've been under in our last 3 or 4 games.

It's great that we've moved up 1 place in the table and we've managed to keep a clean sheet with 4 goals to the good, so now we have the huge build up to next weeks very big encounter which could be the major battle for the final 3rd place or possibly even 2nd.

At the end of the day the performance wasn't great at all BUT we have the points in the bag and we've added another 4 goals to our tally (now only 2 away from the magical 100 for the season) which is all that matters.

Also what was up with the tannoy system today, normally it's blasting out but today you really struggled to hear what was being said. You barely heard any of the teams line ups, crowd size, subs, halftime scores etc etc. Hopefully it will be a lot better for next weeks match, also what happend to the music today i thought today was to be the first time it was aloud or was it a case that it was on and we just couldn't hear it.

Dover scored in Dovertime to nick a 2-1 win

They also had 1 of their players Danny Chapman sent off, according to the Dover forum Chapman supposedly racially abused Anton Innocent (1 of his own team mates, which was supposedly heard by a few supporters) which caused a bit of aggro. Innocent picked up a yellow card for running up to Chapman & pushing him.

After watching the video footage Innocent went to walk off the pitch before being persuaded to stay on by some of his team mates.

I have been known to chase the odd linesman for what I felt were dodgy offside decisions. Today I stood at the side and there was one in each half wrong in my opinion. One, the crowd went mad but it was definately OFFSIDE.

The fact that this is even being discussed goes to show what a BORING game it was.

It isn't a case of the old 'winning boring football against attractive football win lose or draw' debate it is football without any thought, hoof it long enough times, sooner or later the defence will make a mistake. This is how we won and it will not cut the mustard against teams with an ounce of quality in defence.

We have a quality pitch with quality players yet the football is awful. We may as well play without midfielders.

One thing that has gone hand in hand with this hoofalot football is lack of goals going in at our end - we moan about conceding two a game and then when we switch to no-nonsense defending letting in fewer goals - we moan. In my opinion, it shows lack of quality that the only way we can reduce the goals against column is by hoofing it.

Why don't I just shut up I'm getting BORING now...

we have to accept that sometimes when the opposition are poor a good team sometimes drops to the same level and we certainly did today .whilst we were very poor i will be amazed if we dont play well next week.
ryan did not play well but we were saying wait till he gets a corner on the right and when he did there was no answer to the quality of his delivery and it was one  nil.i have to say i really like lew watts as a player but today he looked like he was suffering from the previous nights beer but he still played the best pass of the game from left to right to put ryan through in a game that passing took no part in the proceedings
i also have to say that i have never seen steve norman play a bad game for us and as for brad potter he was simply awsome.as well as doing a great job at right back ,he often joined the attack well and also covered well at the back coming inside to head powerfully away.he is in my opinion a player destined to play at a very high level
jay and brendon ran their socks off and with jay putting himself about the cc defenders were praying for the final whistle.

I agree with most of what you said Rambo. I think Steve Norman gets better and better with every game. He is Mr Reliable and looks like he can take a nice free kick. Does the simple things very well and is very strong in the tackle. I would like to see him in midfield which is where he used to play for Chelmsford I seem to recall.

Also agree with you about Lew today. He looked half a yard slow and with a half fit Eddie and a misfiring Rhyno, the midfield was sadly lacking in the first half. When Briggsy came on in the 2nd half he put his foot on the ball and passed it about nicely.  As a resullt our shape improve as did our pattern of play. Briggsy infuriates me. I think at time he can be our best player, but then at other times he drives me up the wall by not getting involved. Today he was "good" Briggsy  :-D

Now for Mr Potter. I don't think he had a good game today. His distribution was frankly poor and I don't think right back is his position. I only remember him getting over the halfway line a couple of times and his crosses seemed harmless to me. He needs to get his head up more and have a bit of composure on the ball.  The number of times in the first half he shanked the ball out of play instead of just taking his time. That will come with experience, but today I would not describe his performance as awesome. To be fair to the lad he had a below par Rhyno in front of him.

Like most, my MOM will be going to Jay, as his finishes to day were all very good. Steve Norman came a very close second though.
