26th March 2007 Notes
« on: March 26, 2007, 10:42:56 AM »

At this stage of the season the most important thing to come out of the
games is that we gain three points regardless of the way we play and that
was the case on Saturday. It was not the best football we have ever played
and in fact the first half, until Steve Norman hit the bar, the quality in
our play was not good enough.

With Eddie having to come off at half time through injury, I decided to put
Ryan Briggs on to try and get the ball down and play and to be fair in the
second half our play was a lot better but not as good as I would have wanted
it to be.

Even though we did not play our normal flowing football there were many
positives to be taken from the game. First of all the players attitude was
spot on, we did manage to keep a clean sheet and we did score four goals. I
am also delighted that Jay and Brandon are becoming the best striking
partnership in this league. I felt the work rate that the pair of them put
in Saturday was second to none and Jay deserved his well taken hat trick and
with a little bit of luck Brandon could also have had three goals to his
name instead of just one.

They tell me that sometimes you have to win ugly and that seems to have
happened on Saturday but deep down I think you are as delighted as me that
we gained three points and moved up one place in the table.

Thanks for your support
