Are you thinking of Terry Sullivan, pop7260?  If so, you're right; he was a good player.  Always capable of changing the pace and direction of play.  Good players always seem to have more time - and he did.

No drums. It's not band practice.

real shame about  xeddie though,he really seems to make us more effective going forward with his sheer workrate and never ending willingness .reminds me of a certain sully from way back.first name anyone?not aiden although they played together often.we can do it though.come on you dartsssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!

You're thinking of Willie 'the comb' O'Sullivan.  I seem to recall he turned on the class at the tail end of the season to get his contract renewed.

Willie O'Sullivan   thats right    memories are a bit foggy now but I recall during the league winning team of 80/81 that he played on the right side of midfield with Aiden, Alan Budden and John Mitchell/Trevor Burke also in midfield

Who can forget TB and G Julians up front that season !

COME ON YOU DARTS !!!!!

Yes Paul, what a great season that was, wasn't it? To this day though, I've still never felt us hurt after a match as I did following our FA Trophy semi-final defeat at Bishops Stortford. Still, we bounced back and won the league and promotion to the Conference.

TB and GJ scored more than 50 goals between them that year - a partnership only ever bettered since by  xcass and  xmay this season - an omen perhaps?!!!

Glad someone else felt so sick about that Saturday at Bishop Stortford         I recall we went 1 0 up there after the 1 1 draw at Watling St and I thought   "Wembley here we come" but it wasn't to be.

Let's hope your omen about the league is right eh !

Apart from the obvious PP opener against Horsham (and then for different reasons), I think tomorrow's game is the biggest and most important our club has played for at least 10 years. This game is likely to have huge significance in deciding which of our clubs makes the play-offs and I would expect to see both sets of players and supporters really up for it. Although a defeat wouldn't rule either of us out of it, a victory would go a hell of a long way to getting us there. In my opinion, Dulwich are the best team we have played against this season and I came away from their ground thinking they were real championship contenders. They were a bit like us ... brilliant going forward and not so good at the back. I am very pleased they have lost their top striker. We absolutely must give everythng to win this game!

« Reply #27 on: March 30, 2007, 05:11:24 PM »

I'm hoping you will all be at Princes Park for this one - a game that has the makings off another thrilling epic.

But if you can't, I am planning to provide LIVE coverage of the game (with help from my brother at home in Tunbridge Wells).

Please visit www.kentishfootball.co.uk and keep hitting the refresh button from 3pm where we shall provide you team news, goal-flashes and after the game a brief summary of the match, with the usual full match-report and reaction following during the course of the weekend.
