thought at times the team played well just seemed to be suffering from the walk it in syndrome. Once again Eddie seemed to have a bit too mush foresight than the rest of the team, and played the pass for the others just as they stopped running. Surprised Ryan didn't start, but he did improve the game when he did come on, although walton got a few more chances. Just another one of those days , which we seem to have had too many times this season. BUT:

Maidstone United 40 22 10 8 76 45 +31  76
Tooting & Mitcham United 41 21 13 7 69 41 +28  76
Fleet Town 41 21 11 9 65 52 +13  74
Hastings United 41 21 10 10 75 56 +19  73
Dover Athletic 40 20 11 9 67 41 +26  71
Dartford 41 19 11 11 83 61 +22  68
Dulwich Hamlet 41 18 13 10 80 52 +28  67

Is it just me but is there not still a mathematical chance?
Alright Dover losing there next two games is slim but still!

Got a good core to the squad and the off season is a far better time to improve a team than the transfer window.

Constructive criticism?? Don't get it. If it's still criticism, how is it constructive?

Walton yes lowly Walton

This is the same lowly Walton that according to today's programme are 4th in the last 6 matches form guide - W4 D1 L1 - just below T&M, Dover and Fleet and 5 (yes five)! places above Dartford (W2 D3 L1)? :?

I don't know if it was the changes from the usual starting line-up - Lew Watts at No. 2 in place of the injured Tommy O, Carl Bruce at No. 6 and Steve Hafner at No. 11, but I thought today's was one of the best footballing performances at home for Dartford for a long time, especially in the first half, which, in sheer footballing terms, was one of the most entertaining AND enthralling I think I've seen at PP. At last they were back to playing the sort of football we've all been calling for - on the ground, positive play, with a very solid defence and Eddie running rampant in midfield. With the Casuals play belying their league position and definitely confirming their current last-6-matches form guide (13 points and only 4 goals against), this match eventually proved to be one between two evenly-matched sides and two impregnable defences. The longer it went on, the more likely it looked like one goal would settle it - but that goal never came. The ball never quite ran kindly enough for us, with quite a lot of near misses and last ditch tackles and too many players not reading where the pass was going. Cassie, in particular, had 2-3 half-chances that on another day he might just have got his toe to - and one head-high shot which the GK did well to stick a hand out to save 9 yards off his goal-line, while Eddie had another two surging runs into the box stopped short at the last second. We did eventually get the ball into the net early in the second half, but can anybody behind the goal tell me if the "goal" really was offside? The GK took the free kick from where Cassie received the ball, but from where I was sitting I'm pretty sure he wasn't offside. Was it whoever tapped the ball in at the far post as Cassie's shot was going wide? Mind you, WC had their chances, too: Kess had to make at least 3 very good saves, including one where he had to scamper from blocking a shot near his left-hand post right across his goal to save the follow-up at his right-hand post. For once TB made his substitutions early - after about 55-60 minutes - bringing Ryno on for Haffie and Briggsie for Bruce, but the switches didn't really work. To my mind Briggsie was, unusually for him, virtually anonymous, while Ryno, for his part, despite looking more dangerous than Haffie, was back to his old frustrating ways - starting wide left but soon switching to the right, and firing in too many crosses too close to the GK (they were probably meant to be shots, knowing Ryno) . Give the guys their due, though: as the clock was winding down, they still kept on trying to play football without the big hoof upfield. But at the end of the day, Jay and Cassie just didn't "click", either individually or as a pair. Overall, despite the disappointment of seeing our play-off hopes dwindling further (I think somebody has just posted that it is not yet mathematically impossible), I think that, overall, a draw was a fair result. MOTM for me has got to be Eddie Mac: what a powerhouse and inspiring performance from him today - pity it didn't earn the reward it deserved.

I wish it was certain that we cannot make the play-offs because in the last few months the hardest part has been having my hopes raised then dealing with the disappiontment. I need time to recover.  But saying that, todays game was one of the better ones i have seen at P.P this season for excitment at least, apart from not scoring. Not sure if anyone has mentioned him but J. Norman also had a terrific game. Here's to a successful next season for Dartford (and Arsenal), please  xbow .

Although disappointing, because our chances are very slim now (we need to hope Dover lose twice and we win against met police whilst making up about 4 or 5 goals), we played well today. A clean sheet thanks to Kessel, a disallowed goal, and cassy's volley was another good chance.  On top of that we created opening's with unfortunately with no end result.  Hayes did well down the right when he came on and I thought TB made a good decision in replacing both wide men- the lads put in 100% and that is all we can ask.  It is unlikely we'll make the playoffs but keep the faith and the boys will do well next season- if you're feeling gutted just think where we were before Princes Park!!  I won't be able to make it to the last game but I am immensley proud of our local team!!

i dont quite agree with the consensus.whilst we played ok we did not make their keeper do much work so i have to say we were powderpuff and never really looked like scoring against a team at the other end of the table.
we needed to win this game and we started with the most useless pair of wingers i have seen in my life ( a bit strong i know ) who were not able to put a single cross in.in fact since green arrived has he crossed the ball yet.yes i know he works his socks off but so did carlton palmer.
it was when hayes came on that we looked like scoring and also once he came on the crowd were buzzing so a good point is that if you want the crowd to lift the players you have to spark the crowd somehow and its not green and hafner on the wings thats going to provide the spark.
congatulations to jay on his award.he gets goals and tries hard but he has the first touch of a mule and really must work at this if he is to improve as a player
finally norman is one fantastic player and must not be allowed to leave in the summer

:-( :-( :-(Well thats it for another season and personally i have enjoyed it,of course i,m disappointed not to at least be in a playoff place but all the players have given their all for the supporters and the manager.Nobody goes out to give below par performances but our home form has been very erratic since our move to the Park,it seems to me that our away performances have been far better wether its the pressure of playing in front of bigger crowds at home has any bearing on this, but next season we must try to make the Park more of a fortress. But i think one of the major problems is the lack of someone with genuine pace to step up to the plate and dominate play since Dave moved to the Palace. All credit to Walton today it was nice to see a team come to play football and to be honest we would not have scored today if we had played another hour, thought Lew Watts had his best game for a long time playing at full back and was pleased Jay got player of the season as i voted for him he has led the line well all season and if he had better close control he would be the complete player. So the season end with an away trip to Met Police it all started at Burgess Hill with a good win it would be nice to finish with a good win.See you all there on Saturday.UP THE DARTS.

Disappointing though not reaching the play-offs is, it's been a very good season in real terms. The Darts are back in their own stadium, the best non league stadium in the country. There is a good regular support. We have the spine of a fine side for next season. I wish i could have been to more games toward the end of the season, and i'm sure there are plenty like me. The only way is up.

Have to admit I did enjoy the game, even without the goals. To me we played better football yesterday than I have seen at PP recently (Chatham especially).  xavery impressed me, he had his best game of the season as far as I was concerned. He was always there steady at the back. Lew had a good game too in place of the injured Tommy.  xeddie seemed to be a step ahead of the other players passing the ball to where they should have been but were'nt (that's not a criticism of  xeddie either. ) All in all, this season has promised much and but for a few so-so performances on the park could have delivered a lot more. Still onward and upward next season. Looking forward to a good game at the Plod next week neither team has anything to really play for so hopefully they will just go out and enjoy themselves.

Certainly no Dover attitude or thinking that we have a devine right to promotion or to win every game, but whilst enjoying the game being played on the deck it was a game we should have won.

Apart from the first ten minutes when Tony Kessel had to make two very good saves the defence was rarely troubled and it was our lack of shots on target up front that cost us the game.

Apart from Cassie one on one with the keeper and a Ryno shot at the near post their keeper had little to do but take out crosses and on the day the flicks and touches between Jay & Cassie didn't work and despite another day of telling runs interceptions and passes from Eddie, even he couldn't conjure up a goal.

Role on next season but before that the game at Metropolitan Police and I hope a big travelling crowd to cheer the players on alah Hastings, the Grassbank award and a few end of season drinks to see off this season.

A bit disappointed with the result yesterday but the way the game was going you could clearly see that we could've played another 90 minutes and we still wouldn't have scored especially after having our goal disallowed for Brendan being offside. Nothing against the lads but it was just going to be one of those matches and in the 1st half you could clearly see some of the players trying a little too hard and things just didn't pay off.

Although us fans were disappointed not only with the result but also with not making the play offs you could clearly see after the final whistle just how disappointed and gutted the players were and especially Tony.

The players did their best to respond to the fans at the end of the game and come over to us behind the goal to applaud us but you could see the disappointment in their faces and during the Player of the year award.

I spoke to a couple of the players in the bar afterwards and they had a job to even bring a smile to their faces and each of them were well & truely gutted and as for Tony his face couldn't have been any longer and he more than anyone knows just what has been lost now with yesterdays result.

At the end of the day nobody can turn round and say that Tony & his management team haven't given their all this season and done their best for the team and it's unfortunate that on some occasions the players have let both the management team and themselves down with certain results but on the other hand on some occasions they've also done themselves and the management team proud.

We have to take the good with the bad and it's just damn right bloody unfortunate that the bad has almost all come at once in these last few weeks of the season.

We as a club meaning everyone from management & players to supporters plus directors have to do everything we can to make us an even better team & club for next season and hope that we can really make a major push for not just play offs but automatic promotion next season.

I've given my MOTM vote to Eddie McClements for yesterdays game.

Well Done to the 3 players who were voted the top 3 players of the season with  xmay 1st,   xeddie 2nd &  xcass 3rd.

I personally voted for Cassie but well done to Jay on winning the John Stevens home player of the year award.

We played like we know we can play against Walton and were just unlucky. If we'd played like that against Chatham I think we'd still be in there. But as Martin says. There are tons of positives to take from this season and we must start next season as one of the favourites to win instant promotion.

For me the games against Sittingbourne (home) and Fleet (home) are two games that we could look at and say that is where it may have gone wrong for us. I know I'll get hammered here (Spike get those fingers warmed up) but I feel that losing to Sittingbourne in what was I think our 2nd league home game took the wind out of our sails a bit and also the way we played against Fleet when we were top of the league really set us back (showed way too much respect).

However, next season will be our first full season at PP so I'm hopeful. Arsenal seemed to struggle when they first moved to the Emirates Stadium so maybe it's just a case of getting used to a new home. It's just a shame that some visiting teams seemed to settle into PP quite well too.

As for the game. I thought their keeper and their No.4 had fantastic games. In fact I'd say that their No.4 was possibly the best visiting right back that has played us this season. A pity about the result but it still aint over just yet.
