A special mention should be given to all the squad this season, the team were hit with key long term injuries to players and also suspensions which didnt actually help our cause but still finished creditbly mid table and also through to a semi final. Onwards and upwards for next season and lets hope its a fruitful one.

All the best to all Dartford teams for next season.

Very surprised at the choice of Manager's Player.
In the games that i've seen the U21's play this season Dominic is a player that hasn't impressed me one bit. If i'm being honest i would say he come's across as an individual rather than a team player and even then as an individual doesn't do enough for me to warrant a regular slot in the team let alone a chance in the first team.

Hopefully this isn't taken the wrong way, it is merely my opinion that is open fro debate.

Thanks,
Dale

Domonic really impressed me in the U18Ss a couple of seasons ago  but does not seem to have made the step up

a few times he came off the bench for the first team but never grasped the situation to impress often looking like a little boy lost

i reckon technically he is good but needs to make the tough step up into mans football as there are some tough old boys in the ryman 1

id never write him off but he has a lot to do !!!!!!!!!

Agree with the comments Duke.

The only reason i was surprised is because i felt that there were other players in the team that warrant more recognition than Domonic.

Dale, in Dominics defence he did not receive a great deal of service from the midfield and that also goes for Tommy Youle, who do you think deserves recognition ?

I think it's a little unfair that the service from the midfield has been criticised. I was at the majority of games last season and don't think that the service from the midfield was creative enough to carve out at least 5-10 clear cut chances for the strikers.

I'd be interested to see just how many of the 31 league goals scored by the u21's last season were in fact scored by the front two?
Chris Wimshurst is a player that warrant's more recognition than he get's, a promising natural left sided defender.
I feel that from time to time the whole team's performance deserve's a bit of recognition durting the course of the season.

There has been many a post on here that focuses soley on the performance of the front two and no-one else.

Dale, as stated in my earlier posting all the team deserve recognition and I was pleased to find out that Chris had won 2 awards, felt for most of the season he had played solid at the back. As for top goal scorer, the Kent website could not quote a top scorer for the team it would be interesting to find out who actually was top goal scorer.

Yes i did notice that BB. I think that Chris thoroughly deserved his awards and was pleased to hear that he had picked those up.

Just to say the u/21s did not have a settled team all season what with injurys and suspensions,so to finish where they did in the league was a real feat.Chrissy Whimshurst's haul of trophys was so well and truly deserved.Good luck to you all for the coming new season.

Gents,

I feel you are being a bit harsh on Dom.

And it is accepted I am biased.

Whilst I accept everyone is entitled to their opinion - they should perhaps look at some of the facts.

He was the managers captain for 6 months - possibly deserves some recognition.
He attended training every week - This couldnt be said by some.
He played in a way which was to the managers instructions - I.E. coming back to recieve the ball from midfield - lay off and look for the return - which is not the way he would naturally play ( ie when playing for the under 18's.)
He was given 2-3 opportunities to play for the 1sts last season - given 15 minutes in a game at thurrock (when we were 5 up) and 1-2 bench outings when he didnt get on --- I accept the manager might not be to sure about his Ryman ability - but dont judge him on these 1st team opportunities.
He scored 18 of the 31 goals last year for the reserves (13 of them by xmas - before a serious knee injury which he still has not fully recovered from)
He had a good partnership with Tom Y up front - however, due to Toms injuries - this didnt happen for many games.

The reason why the front two were discussed on this web link more than other players is because Stifado and me were the only ones bothered to put anythinig on it. ( Blues brother accepted)

So please dont moan about players not being worthy

On the brighter side,

Congratulations to Chris Wilmshurst - I thought he had a great season - playing out of position on many occasions.

Im  now signing off for the summer - Happy hunting to all of you.

Perhaps we shall meet at some other ground in the near future.

The Emu has landed !!!

Like you said every one is entitled to their own opinion and I for one was merely sharing my opinion. Not wanting to stir anything up and cause argument.
I have looked at the facts and still don't feel he warranted an award for his performances throughout the season, hence the reason him not getting that many chances with the first team.

In my eyes his partnership with Tommy Y was not that great; there link up play was poor; i felt that they didn't do enough for the team i.e not wanting to chase for any balls that weren't played into their feet and not really defending from the front which as a kid growing up was something my football coaches would certainly have liked us to do.

The 18 goals scored this season cannot be faulted but still feel their were a handful of other players that did enough for me to warrant some mention on this U21's Forum, but as you say you are biased and the majority of posts that were posted by you last season were only really concerning your son's performance and no-one elses.

I feel that these biased views could be a reason why so few bother to post or look on the U21's forum when the only players that seem to get praise/recognition/mentioned are the son's of two of the main posters on this forum.
