Well personally, I agree with what John said (although not how he said it) about Ryno's corners as I thought they were one of the best things about his game last season. He's obviously got bags of talent and there are times when you have to gasp in admiration at some of the things he does, but he is wildly inconsistent and often fades away. Why? ... Well, if you had to rate the team's personal fitness from 1 to 11 somebody has to come 11th and I think I know who that would be.

... I also didn't enjoy seeing Ryno and Eddie arguing over who should take the free kick on the edge of the box. Its not very professional.

Lots of work to be done before the start of the season I think.

The Ryan corners for the most part last season were either under hit, over hit, floated out for goal kicks or went straight into the keepers hands.

Eh? His corners were superb last year. I remember he embarassed the Burgess hill keeper with his corner so much, the fella punched it into his own net. See the moaning brigade are out in full force today.

spike = could have been a ploy to fool the spurs defenders ,  it did anyway as ryan put it 20 foot over the bar

i think even the " moaners " agree that ryan hayes is extremely tallented but perhaps just a little bit inconsistant !!!!!!!!

Never mind me fixing the tannoy Dukey, if John DFC shifted his a**e and got out more from the control room and stood on the terrace behind the goal (without the nets) then he would be able to relay back via his mobile to Delboy telling him to up the volume. xshrug

Ok Guys heres the problem.  John does the announcements, from the area above the tunnel. From here  ,with a bank of 5 speakers right over your head, the volume seems reasonable. Due to a,dare i say it, design fault. Me, in the control room, cannot hear the volume outside. Now we could of course crank it up,and to hell with the consequences, but the board are very mindful of our neighbours, and do not want to give the NIMBYs amy ammunition. There was a complaint last night from the first aid post, saying that they were getting  blasted out by the music, so it had to be turned down . Whether this is right, turning down the volume to appease a few, to the detriment of thousands, i cant say. However what i propose to do on Friday is, to definately crank up the volume for the announcements, and then reduce again whilst playing my Bucks Fizz and Nolans CDs.
Hopefully this will do the trick. If not we shall develop a system of semaphore, with John standing above the tunnel, with a couple of bloody great flags doing the team changes in  naval code !!!

From Peter Martin:

"In answer to a couple of points from supporters the youn lad that came on near the end without a number is Valentine Obamwonyi an 18year old who was in Lewes' youth team last season. Has come to us as part of Paul Hennessy's Reserve team."

Honestly Delboy, If you aren't aloud to make it louder just don't bother. If the people in the ground can't hear it, what chance do the NIMBY's have?

Re Ryan Hayes, I am his biggest fan, for every poor corner he takes, and every poor free kick he takes, there are 5 good ones to 'balance' it up. He is a superb talent and I am happy to suffer his few mistakes to enjoy his many successes. Others want perfection week in week out. For me, Ryan is our most talented player.

As for Eddie, he is our number one all round player. This guy is a superb footballer and even though his performance was average by his standard, he still held his own against Spurs XI. Eddie is the player we are lucky to have - a real star.
