The fans need to get behind the team big style, we can only hope that TB has the team the win the match.

I am looking forward to it!

If our injured players are fit again(apart from Ryno of course who has no chance unfortunately) then we'll have a team playing that will be good enough to go for a decent win to start the campaign.

On a bright note, Jay May played for the reserves on Saturday so he must be close to starting and Guest seemed confident of being ready for the season a week or so ago.

Any more injuries to midfielders in the next week or so would leave us very light in that department, unless of course we are able to strengthen in the coming days!

One thing's for sure, I can't wait for Saturday and the start of a massive season for the darts.  Can't wait to get behing the goal(or down the side??) and make some noise!

Have enjoyed the friendlies, but it will be nice to get the 'real' games started. I agree with TLD we are a bit light in the midfield but I have every confidence in TB, to ensure that we are well covered in all departments. Plus it looks like we have a few youngsters who could be knocking on the door of a first team place, or at least a seat on the bench.

So the long wait is nearly over.  We've been placed in a new league for reasons that are now history.  It's a big step into the unknown with new clubs to play and grounds to visiit.  I don't think my sense of hope and anticipation have ever been higher.

I'd love to see over 1500 at PP on Saturday who really get behind TB and the boys.  We'll soon see if the squad is a bit thin, but we all have faith in TB's judgement.

I'll be there with a brand new season ticket.  Good luck to the team.  We're all behind you.

I can't remember looking forward so much to the start of a new season before.  A winning start would be great, but we know from last year how much sides raise their game at Princes Park, and Maldon have got a pretty useful squad together. It's going to be a tough match and probably quite close.

Unless TB pulls any last minute signings out of the hat, and injuries permitting, I'd expect the line-up to be something like this:

                                    Kessell;

                Osbourne, Guest, Flanagan, Norman;

                 Coyle, McClements, O'Brien, Green;

                                  May, Cass.

Subs:  Potter, Avery, Bradbrook, Youle, Lawrence

The squad is looking a bit thin on the ground, so let's hope all those injuries clear up by Saturday  :|

dave - i think most dart fans would agree with your selection but slightly concerning that 2 of the guys " the jurys is out on " and the bench is not the strongest [ 3 u21s , good potential no experience !1]

maldon have strengthened their side and will be a tough test

i am sure the fans will get behind the team [as usual]

Well hopefully we will exceed the 1045 who attended Stonebridge Road for Ebbfleet's opening fixture on Saturday! Given the level of the football pyramid that they are playing, it must be a constant source of concern to the board of the full time team that they had the 3rd worst attendance in the league on the opening day. CAn't have been the weather. May be the price increases. More likely is the apathy.

Like Bazza, I would be hoping for a 1500 crowd. So come on you Darts supporters, turn up in your usual numbers and make sure, that with a whole season at PP this time round, there will be absolultutely no arguments as to which team is the best supported non league team in Kent.

in response to dave t's posting i know the injury situation does not help and i have not seen a pre season game but bearing in mind the way we leaked goals at an alarming rate, as fan i would not like to see 3 of the 4 regular defenders that played last season start this weekend.i would hope the back 4 will be different to daves suggestion or will tony go for a back three with wing backs

Looking forward to Saturdays game, lets hope for a good crowd would guess at 1200-1300.

Maldon are going to br challenging this year - they have on paper some very experienced players who have been on the non league circuit at a higher level.

Think they have Berquez of Canvey, Chelmsford and Stevenage (last season) who was a regular scorer in the Conference - last season, coupled with 2/3 other lads who have come from the same level and been at the same group of clubs.

I would love all 3 points on the opening day and am real positive about this season but lets  not get carried away after all where were Maidstone, Hastings, and Tooting - in October/November - lets not panic and give the boys our full support for the whole season.

Still think we are 3 first team players short - hope we can fill the gaps in the squad with players good enough to start or change games from the bench. - We need a creative midfielder, defensive cover - (Aris form Tonbridge) and a striker to put pressure on Cass amd May.

Rambo, I think Jamie Coyle would probably start at the back if we weren't so desperately short of quality in midfield. I really can't see TB playing with three at the back personally, as he's not really indicated that is an option in his pre-season matches. But even if he does, it will have to be a combination of the eleven names that I've listed, because there isn't really anyone else available!

Unfortunately, for a variety of reasons, I think that Tony is probably at least three players short of his ideal squad this close to the opener.

As I have said previously, we got to come out of the traps running,and get a couple of wins under our belt first two games. But as said before, there are some good teams in this division. And Maldon are down from the Premier, they are going to be no pushovers. Apart from Coyle who I rate highly, there has been no added Omph! to the side during the summer. I hope if he plays,that Mark Green makes himself a regular with Ryno out.
So lets hope for a win Saturday. Up the Darts!!!!
