Like a lot of people I waited a couple of days before commenting on Saturday's game. If I didn't I would probably have had to apologise for the things I said :-). It's a while since I've felt that bad after a match (Fleet at home last season probably). I agree with most posters that the initial team selection was wrong and the tactics (long ball) were wrong. What worries me the most that we still should have been good enough to beat Northwood. They were not a good side. They were below average. But most of all they were not fit (3 players going down with cramp???).

Yes, I posted after too much vino yesterday afternoon which was probably not wise  :-P All the same, the general jist of my post stands. We didn't play that well and I didn't think the team selection was correct. I'm still optomistic that we can do something this year, but we do desperately need additions to the team and squad. Without these then  xshrug

Kebabus, it wasn't a stupid ill thought comment about the Sittingbourne fixture. Of course it's important every game is important. All I was saying was that surely getting out of this division is paramount. Whereas, I can hardly see us knocking on Wembley doors with a semi-final against Man U. I grant you the F A Cup rounds are great to be in. But it is of the general opinion, even yours that we want to be in The Premier nay Conference in 5 years( Am I being ambitious?) Ok 8.

Oh, by the way, we would have probably put Utd out in the previous round.

We had the chance once. If only we'd won that replay :-(

We need in my opinion a very good midfield player to link it all together that is all

Easier said than done, obviously, as TB would have done it already if he could.

Actually the written words I used were wrong and i apologise but a home fixture against Sittingbourne with no mid week game is very important not just because its a local derby but the financial rewards are simply too good to turn down! A 7 day rest is superb at this stage and suggest that as a club we all wake up and not get too high and mighty about cup games, it really is time that our club just bloody well did something, 4th qualifying round would be great and a chance to enter the competition proper! Sending out the message that we're not all that bothered etc is wrong, shall we not bother turning up?

The league is important, make no mistake, winning is a good habit to have, why not start the ball rolling on Saturday!

OUR CLUB NEEDS SOME GOOD ON FIELD NEWS FOR A CHANGE!!!!!
