Sittingbourne FA CUP 1ST Q.THE ROAD TO WEMBLEY CONTINUES ....
« on: September 12, 2007, 08:09:24 AM »

Morning all ,

Well after the disappointments of last Saturday , another Saturday beckons and a chance to progress in the FA Cup , win some prize money and get our season going . Our first kentish derby too this season and a return to PP for Steve Hafner and Anthony Hogg . I , like many others was disappointed by last Saturday but will be there cheering on the boys in front of what I hope will be our first of many 1000+ gates.

'' Wembley , wembley , its a great big building north of London and they call it Wembley ,
   Wembley , wembley. ''

That is as good as my chanting / singing gets I am afraid. See you all Saturday.

Agree, this is more than a local derby.

we MUST win and play to win

This is our best shot at a few local derbies and despite the dangers, debies are great fixtures that bring in the crowd's and monies.

Why MUST we win ????

if we DO win [ and i want us to ] we get some more cash and another fun cup day

iif we DONT win then we are still in the same position in the league and the long term plan that many fans believe will still happen, despite our poor start ,  is still on course and with the loanees gone back we can get a settled side and achieve our goal of promotion  !!!!!!!

It's an early round in the FA Cup, I'd be happy with 869 again!

Talking of crowds, I saw a poster in a pub window(last Saturday) about the Sittingbourne game, I saw a poster in the club shop(this Monday afternoon) which ended on the Leatherhead game!  If a pub can do it, can't our club shop?

Still no fixtures board up on either Darenth Road entrance or Princes Road.

Duke, I sort of agree that 'we MUST win' is possibly a bit much, but a cup run would

a/ generate interest in  the town and hopefully bring back a few of the absent friends, and

b/ bring in a bit more cash.

The season is young and theres a lot of football to be played, but we look a bit iffy at the moment. A few more games under the belt, a run in the cup to bring in a bit of confidence, and a break from the league where we look inept at times, is all good news if you ask me. A defeat on saturday will generate more unease and possibly drive off a couple more fans. It's by no means the end of the world, nor even the season, but it would be a nasty knock to get over.

PS Mr Burman, tell them to play it to feet, not up in the air.

hello darts how you all doing ? having played sittingbourne ourselfs a couple of weeks ago we drew 1;1 at homelands but i thought they were the best side weve played so far this season they were very lively up front and worked very hard for each other to be honest Ashford were lucky to get a point out of the game ,weve got a very tricky game this sat at home to Tooting & mitcham in the league. anyway all the best to you all from the ashford boyz :-)

Come on Darts fans, let's get behind the lads on Saturday in what will be ( I hope ) a great kent derby match. A win should do lots for confidence for the Sudbury game the week after. We all love the anticipation of a great cup run ( like the old days) and why can't we do what Leatherhead did last year in getting to round 1 proper.

I'm looking forward to the rival fan singing and chanting and a Dartford win. Whatever, let's stop the brickies becoming winning at PP again !

See you all Saturday !

Oh when the Darts, go marching in, oh when the Darts go marching in. I want to............................

We MUST win to get on a roll, get some money in and go into a crunch game with one of the best sides in the league. We cannot go into a game with a team that has +16 goal difference after 5 games on a losing streak leaking goals.

The best thing this team needs right now is a bit of confidence and a run of good results.

Didn't know the Monkeys sang your other favourite song, "I'm a whinging old B**g*r"
