No talk please of lucky strikes, two good goals against us yes but what do you expect if we don't close the forwards down, leave them plenty of space, allow them to run at goal and shoot from outside the area, definitely no lessons learnt from the Northwood game as the midfield was caught out with players too far up field and no where to be seen on the break.
The other obvious lesson we don't seem to learn is that we to can shoot from outside the area, something that we have rarely seen this season and one which has brought us few goals for but several against.
Of the match the usual first 20 minutes playing good football on the deck, creating two chances for Cassie and one for Greenie all missed, then a punt up field flicked on by Jay puts Cassie through and he scores the first, thereafter lets just punt the ball in the air, with Jay struggling worst than Wednesday to win headers.
Steve Norman was streets ahead of anyone else for M.O.M. as he was not only keeping their attack quiet down the left but having to play sweeper on several occasions intercepting and clearing the ball from the middle and right hand side as well and the only person in defence who tried to keep the ball on the deck when time allowed and pass it from the back.
Guesty did well to score our second, but for the most part we wasted free kicks and corners to the big men and created few chances to score from these tactics.
After the opening period Eddie had an unusually quite day and Greenie although working hard had little support in midfield as Moore is still doesn't look fit and we were missing Kadi.
Camberley were worthy of a draw today despite spoiling tactics throughout, whinging, pushing and complaining to the ref, but in the last few minutes had us holding our breath as they looked the more likely to get a winner.
Tuesday will be different I'm sure alah Sittingbourne, provided we take those early chances in the first 20 minutes when we tend to play good passing football and then we must continue to play using those tactics as the opposition is forced to push up, but if after the early period we haven't scored then we must maintain our discipline and be patient just like the Sudbury and Ilford games as 1-0 is just as good a result.
Not to forget the referee who was awful and had little or no control over the game and near the end was in danger of completely losing control as niggles between both sets of players threatened to create a punch up.(Will he be there for the replay?)
